- Dabi is way better than most people think and I have seen quite a few good Dabi's recently! Although he does have some downsides like his Damage Output Isn't anything special and he has no Movement at all. So lets see how he does and talk about what Buffs he can potentially get! I may not be the best Dabi in the world, but for some reason I find it hard to Lose as him so buffed or not I will still enjoy playing him from time to time.

a good buff for dabi would be increased damage and duration on gamma alone and incresed speed on alpha alone his traps are pretty solid imo he has the quickest thirst in the game
Wdym dmg increase?? Its not that difficult to do 6k dmg in a match with him
A nice and eazy combo to do with Dabi is using your ring of fire than do the 2 meeles and when they are down put traps around him, or if it is a confined area put the traps in the exits (doors, cave entrances, etc.)
I think they should replace his special action with a flame thrower move

it's kinda sad cause he's basicallh missing a move, and he can only use it when he's losing/already lost
i think dabi needs more of a rework instead of being buffed or nerfed considering the following.
α his alpha is incredibly easy to dodge since dabi's alpha has auto tracking it makes sense its slow but because of that it's so easy to dodge that you can spam dodge while running and just never get hit by it
β the beta is really inconsistent on the ground sometimes it will get one hit sometimes it does nothing and sometimes the whole thing lands but that pretty much only happens if the person it hits was walking and not running mobility characters and characters that have a charge move can just go through it,
the air version is much better but it still has the same issue with charge moves for example kirishima deku bakugou lida denki mount lady shigaraki toga and aizawa all have a charge move that can go through the air mine and hit you but they will still take damage from it so depending on where they use their move and how fast they are going it can sometimes get canceled, the 3 worst character for the air mine are all might momo and uraraka, all might has 2 moves that work being his beta and gamma his gamma being the worst of the 2 because it gives s so they won't even be hurt by the air mine same goes for momo's beta shield move, with uraraka her's is slow making her easy to hit by the full mine but she can keep spamming it after being hit by it you cant cancel her beta with dabi's alpha and gamma so if you don't manage to either kill the uraraka or be lucky enough for them to run out of its charge you cant get away from it and god forbid your mines are on cooldown cause you're just dead, and since you know a land mind is a land mine so it becomes useless against people who run or just have good mobility
γ the gamma its main gimmick is to both keep people away from you and negate projectiles but it doesn't do a good job at it for instance when you do it close to an enemy it will push them back doing decent damage but the problem is they can just walk forward after its done and be inside the fire wall with you second the low stun and no knock down on it as soon as the person being hit is done being pushed they can immediately move and attack again so depending on the character you hit you can be punished for landing it cause some moves will be able to hit you before you're able to move again these are just the issues of landing the gamma on someone. you can walk through the fire wall taking small damage. so lets imagine you who is reading this in this situation you as a smart dabi player use your gamma and account for someone just running through the barrier so you place some air mines but your worst enemy are charge moves and the mines and fire wall didn't help as they just charged through the fire and hit you to make it even worst characters with movement skills can just jump over it the 2 worst being bakugou and kirishima, bakugo makes the projectile negation completely useless being able to use his special and hitting from the air while kirishima's air gamma allows him to jump over it. the cherry on top about dabi's gamma is even though its main thing is to negate projectiles so your most often going to use it when being shot at is that its start up can be canceled by projectiles putting it on cooldown
by far the worst ability in dabi's moveset is his special action it can only be used when downed and for some reason if you are being hit while downed you take stun and cant use it on top of that it the stun last for around 1.5 seconds after being hit so even if the person hitting you messes up you still cant use it meaning if as soon as you get downed the person doesn't stop attacking you, you literally cant use the move that is made to be used while downed. i am pleading to the gods that the special get replaced with a better move
with everything listed dabi's feel like he's not even supposed to be a technical character and is made more to be a support.
I'm not gonna claim to be a good Dabi, but whenever I choose him I get + 100 Luck and just can't lose ... I don't get it 😂

Maybe a movespeed debuff while you’re in his gamma, a teeensy extra damage on alpha, and the ability to throw his traps. Still being able to place them at your feet ofc, but maybe hold it to throw them in a radius^^
Also if you throw the trap at someone and it makes contact it explodes and blows them back
2:26 is some stuff of nightmares.
Tbh they need to change his special action it’s kinda useless shouldn’t have to go down to use it and if u go down you can’t use it while people shoot you
I never realized that you can't use it if getting hit until recently, I wish they would change that or just rework it I'm just not sure what to change it to.

You had it right, he just needs a bit more damage. As someone who played dabi a lot, he has a very low skill ceiling. All you have to do is sprint jump when throwing fireballs or placing traps. Keep distance from your opponents. Play around structures and make sure you always have traps around them in case you get pushed and try to bait people into pushing you 😁 But, there is only so much you can do with no mobility, it's recommended to keep and lvl a few blue cards if you can as dabi.
Predicting the opponents next move an placing traps accordingly actually requires skill. I think skill ceiling for him is much higher than u think.

I’m a Dabi main who hit Top 400 on Xbox MVP Leaderboards and still climbing, I can assure you Dabi is NOT a bad character by any means, Dabi’s core strength is his ability to Punish aggression from Enemies and his survivability.
Yes his Alpha is kind of mediocre but I don’t even think the damage is bad, I think his reload speed is the biggest issue with his Alpha, with other characters like Deku you can spam 10 shots and those 10 shots will come back in around 5 seconds but with Dabi it takes much longer, to make his alpha more viable, there is a movement tech with Dabi where you reduce your fire rate just slightly but you can do a leap between every shot which will avoid a lot of damage and keep you from being a still target while using his alpha.
His Beta is his best ability in my opinion due to how well it stops people from jumping onto you, it can stop Froppy, Kirishima, Ida, Bakugo, Toga, Shigaraki and Aizawa, yes 1 trap on its own doesn’t do much damage but if someone continuously chases you, you can easily kite them and make them take multiple trap hits until they’re at a health low enough that you can turn back and fire at them.
The amount of times I’ve killed a Froppy, Kirishima, Ida or aggressive Bakugo with this is insane, it’s a patient playstyle that requires people to come to you instead of you pushing them, this is why Dabi shouldn’t fight at long range against ranged characters because you can’t Kite from distance so you have to sometimes get people to chase you into a position you want them in.
Also you might also have not seen this but his Traps can act as a shield as well, when an enemy shoots a trap it destroys it so if you’re standing on one of your traps and a Bakugo tries to shoot you, the trap will take the shot and protect you and this works with teammates to.
Dabi is a technical character because he is hard to play as, much like Toga and Aizawa, he’s a character that requires patience and not just running into the enemy hoping to kill someone with his Alpha because that only happens occasionally when one of your teammates distracts someone.
His Gamma combos insanely well with his Beta, almost any time you use your Ring of Fire you follow up with a trap, that way you knock enemies back with the ring while doing around 60-80 damage and if they try to run back in to your ring to attack you, they’ll take even more damage from the trap, to follow up, you should always back up behind your ring of fire that way they can’t even shoot you while they’re in the ring and have to potentially take more damage from leaving the ring all the while you can hit them back with your Alpha and decimate most people doing this until they either run away or you can down them.
And to play against this style of Dabi, most other Ace players have usually said just avoid Dabi in a team fight, focus him last because it’s very unlikely for 1 person to be able to down Dabi on their own and much easier if 3 people rushed him instead of 1, this usually works 75% of the time and sometimes Dabi can run away if there’s heights or if he had a Speed Power up.
So Dabi on my tier list for this reason would be a either a Low S Tier or High A Tier due to his ability to survive really well in a team fight and punish bad decision making.

I'd increase the amount of traps he could place to 15(or higher). Why? Because making a minefield like him sounds fun. Let him truly become that trapper/nuisance role that people hate fucking dealing with.
😂You know I agree, just full force those traps. I run straight into them anyways so I would simply die.
I really like this idea, you could turn any zone in the game into a minefield with this, but for now we have to put up with only 5 traps...
Can you for a challenge play as deku snipe shot and standard melee attacks only executions allowed you may use beta and gamma for relocating but not to attack others

I've played dabi since day 1 and I say he needs to be completely reworked. I don't care what the rework is just give him a mobility get away skill

Dabi was the first main I had in this game and Then Compress. I have a higher win rate with Dabi than Compress even though Ive played 200+ games with Compress. They should buff his DMG and Projectile speed in order to make him better.
Man I have been trying to get good with Compress and I just can't make it work😂 I hope he gets a Buff too

imo he is technical for a reason, not damage. he is meant to be annoying and do less damage than other characters to bait and wittle them down to get the down for his team. more of a team comp character than solo. but a damage buff and better tracking would make him busted cause it usually already tracks me down like a hound who doesn't know how to not hit the target lmao. but I see what you mean for a buff

Ah yes, don't buff his damage by a lot because otherwise he would be decent. Makes sense. Maybe I interpreted what you said wrong and you were saying that the small damage buff would make him decent but the large one would make him overpowered, but the first part of my comment is just funny to me, even if its not what you meant

U see. Whenever I PLAY DABI I get like 3 k.os. And whenever my gf plays Dabi (that's her main) somehow she either gets none or like 7 with almost 7k dmg

No one in the game needs any buff to damage only characters that need their damage nerfed
The problem with Dabi is his damage bruh if you bug his flame shield doen it’s so easy to counter an also people just run through it, an there’s this dumb bug when ur knocked an u burn the person who about to finish you
An then after they get hit with ur flames they become invincible for a few seconds an they still don’t take damage an finish you
An also once someone hits you while using Dabi Gemma ability ig is gone
