Jeff's Enduro MTB Dream Build: Banshee Titan w/ Intend Suspension & BERD Wheels

  • It's been quite some time since our fearless leader Jeff Cayley built up a longer travel bike, and this time around, the Banshee Titan rolling on Intend Suspension is his steed of choice. Equipped with a choice selection of components from brands like Berd, 5Dev, Wolf Tooth, Trail One & others, this bike has no detail left untouched. You might think that since it's a 155mm travel full suspension enduro mountain bike that perhaps Jeff would be less of a weight weenie... but you'd be wrong. For a detailed summary of the bike and its parts including some drool inducing photos, check out the link to the blog article below.

    What's your favorite part of this sweet bike?

    • @kangsterizer
      @kangsterizer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes.
      should ask which ones are the least favorite ! and that's the brakes. they're fine, but on such a custom bike, i'd much prefer the dominion T4 for example. either way would love to demo this crazy bike haha. looks awesome.

    Hey Jeff, I am from Germany and I am very excited that you use Intend suspension on your bike. Cornelius Kapfinger the engineer and owner of Intend is well known for building extremely good forks and shocks, as well as other parts. The suspension will not disappoint you. In my opinion one of the best on the market.

      I love my Intend edge but i must be honest and I miss the adjustable midstroke support like on my dorado with IRT system, an IRT system in the edge would be just perfect 100%. I don t like the solution with tokens it doesn t solve the problem on the root

    Thanks for taking to the time to share your new build. Your ride looks amazing! I applaud your parts selection w/ 'non-mainstream' brands, it created a very unique look & supported smaller bike makers in the process. I especially appreciate your reasoning for using inverted fork as I am an independent mtb & gravel bikes customizer who utilizes exclusively inverted forks, the performance is superb. I've tried RockShox RS1, RaceWork RS7, X Fusion, Wren (to name a few), will definitely give Intend a go. May I open a discussion/nerd out session on inverted forks' performance + physics here?

    I'm curious, is an inverted fork like that more at risk to breaking or scratching?

    • @WorldwideCyclery
      @WorldwideCyclery  ปีที่แล้ว

      The breaking part would depend on the build of it and proper or improper use of it. It certainly is not weaker as it's the design on every motorcycle of any kind. But as for scratching, with no stanchion guards like I have it setup could be riskier but so far so good.

      Whilst I have scratched my stanchions on a normal fork twice…..both big crashes. I have scratched my lowers numerous times so that Would definitely put me off.

    I really like the idea of a motocross inspired inverted fork, however as I look my Lyrik's bottom legs and how many scratches it has from rocks & branches, how would this fork handle the long term use, wouldn't it be an issue? Great bike anyways!!!

    • @intendbicyclecomponents5905
      @intendbicyclecomponents5905 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey there,
      from our experience scratches don't happen more or less often than on a regular fork. Scratches tend to be on the part with the widest diameter. Anyways this is not scientific, just what we observe and learn from customers. We have very little cases with scratched lower legs and in the end if you really manage to damage yours, it's much easier and cheaper to replace in comparison to the whole upper unit on regular forks. We charge 75.- for a brand new stanchion and that includes the replacement work on our part.
      Cheers :)

    Do you think that the inverted Fork design is the biggest advantage or the fact it was set up by the factory for you? I honestly wonder how much having the perfect shim stack for your weight and a cartridge tuned for the way you ride can overcome. I feel like you could go down one size in fork stanchion diameter if you had the perfect internals installed of a widest common denominator setup.
