We have done as many as three back to back cruises but on some of those, we like to switch ships as it allows us to get a different vibe or different ports. We prefer a longer cruise as they generally offer better OBS to AARP members and shareholders. I avoid the 3-5 day cruises as the rate pp pd is almost always higher. I do like getting a cruise where we get a full switchover day in FLL, San Juan, or Whittier.
@@CruisingKat We have done the following: 1) Celebrity Solstice to HAL Nieuw Amsterdam -Solstice (Alaska-Alaska-Hawaii) - linked together some great deals 2) Regal Princess to Carnival Magic - 2nd is comped 3) HAL Rotterdam to Eurodam - two great deals The advantage of using the same line is that the cruise line pays for the transfer and you get preferred boardinf.
We are doing the same starting on the 25th of this month. While I'm not thrilled about the time for the re-checkin, at least now I have the right mindset. Looking forward to two great cruises. My sister is also doing and will have to changes cabins, we have the same cabin so we will get the fell for both experiences. Thanks for the great video.
@@MrBeckert123 I’m so glad you found it helpful. Not changing cabins is definitely a smoother experience and we’ve done that on a couple of our B2B’s. But, in the end, I’d rather pack up to move to another cabin than pack up to go home 😂. Hope you have an amazing time on your cruise!
Informative video as always. My wife and I believe the ship is the destination so this could fit but we also really value sea days (our favorite time on the ship). My question would be how much do you lose on the turnaround day since it’s somewhat disjointed
@@mlew251 We had to be in the dining room by 9 am and we’re back on the ship at 11 am. Back to back cruisers are the first ones to board the ship, even before suite guests. If they can clear out the previous cruise sooner, they’ll let B2B board sooner. As long as you plan the next couple hours ahead of time, you don’t lose too much time. We wore our swimwear and enjoyed a couple hours in an empty Solarium before cabins opened back up. We just made both Nassau stops our “sea days” 😂. A lot less people on the ship during those days since many passengers on Utopia are first-time cruisers and want to see Nassau. So we really got plenty of time to enjoy all ship amenities.
If you are a diamond member and you get one free day of Internet for free, how does that work when you buy an internet package? Does it automatically discount it by one day? Thanks!
No, it doesn't let you use your free day against the package. If you buy a package for the whole cruise, when you are on board, you can cash in your diamond coupon for a free day for another device. If you don't absolutely need internet 24 hours a day and you're going on a shorter cruise (or two B2B cruises), you may want to skip the package. For example, on our B2B Utopia cruises, we didn't buy a package for either of them. Here's why: Day 1 - Port Canaveral - you have internet until 5 pm or so Day 2 - At sea - cash in the diamond voucher Day 3 - Nassau, Bahamas - we used our AT&T international day pass for $10 flat fee all day Day 4 - CocoCay - paid for one day of internet Day 5 - Port Canaveral - you have internet until 5 pm or so Day 6 - Nassau, Bahamas - we used our AT&T international day pass for $10 flat fee all day Day 7 - CocoCay - cash in the diamond voucher So on our 7 days of cruising, we only paid for one day and still had internet every day (just not 24 hours per day). Hope this helps!
Have you considered sailing on a back to back cruise? Or have you already sailed? I'd love to hear your thoughts! 😁

I love the idea of switching ships to get a different experience. I need to try that soon!

@@AndrewB.. Thank you so much for watching my videos! 😁
Been on a few btob. Just finished blob Alaska same route loads of fun on Carnival
I'd love to do a B2B with two different routes in Alaska one day. Sounds like a perfect way to see all the sites.

3 and 4 day cruises are a waste of time IMO. I’ve been doing longer TA cruises and the value and pricing is so much better
I agree, the longer the cruise, the better value you get per day.
