Toyota MDT here. Really been enjoying your videos. We learn about theory in class, but it’s nice to see practical diag put to use. You get a lot more oddball stuff than I typically see, but watching your videos keeps me sharp. Keep up the great work!
Jake you rock brother awesome approach and thought process not too many garages will even consider touching hybrid cars because of lack information/technology and how to approach communication issues the way u approached this car bravo, bravo and thanks for taking us viewers with ur diagnoses to fix it. cheeeeers
Very clear minded diagnostic, Jake! Seems the medium speed bus was just an artifact caused by the scanner, which is a bit troubling to consider, when dealing with complex network faults. Great job! Get well soon :-)
Great work man! Been in the automotive electronics business for 35yrs now & always good to learn new stuff. Been learning a lot from you and Ivan @PHAD. The tire mobility message refers to the canister of goo in the tire repair/compressor kit. The sealant bottle expires. Its just a calender reminder to replace the can. Motorcraft TA34. Btw...same stuff and same compressor for many different OEMs. ACDelco version is way more $$ than Motorcraft...for the exact same thing 😂
Get well Jake, THAT'S NUMBER 1! One comm wire shut down the whole vehicle. I'm seeing more and more of this in TH-cam. Good fix and good video! Also, thanks for your continued description as you diagnose the vehicle.
It's getting hard to point if u have car issues or scanner issues now days, Was doing a simple transmission service the other day , scanner 1 no communication with tcm. Scanner 2 shows communication but no live data. Scanner 3 finally showing live data .
I just did a paracitic drain on a 08 Impalla. The shifter wires had broke and the fuse blew which was on retained power relay. Im assuming when the dude was cutting the wires for the new plug. So when he got the new plug on and the shifter still didnt work they just jumpped power from the power outlet wire. The key lock solenoid was on all the time.
Topdon scanners make issues with ford. Yesterday i tried scan ford transit with topscan, and when i plug vci to OBD, it makes all lights on, and when i start car, and i turn key off, car stays running, and didnt shut off, before i unplug topscan VCI. And that makes that always when put VCI to obd. I tried with Autel, and all was normal, but when use topdon, car makes all kind issues.
I have a similar issue no communication with a lot of modules, obd port is not getting 12v issue started when someone what's trying to replace a fuse while the car was
Excellent!!! That had rabbit hole potential for sure, but you went at it the best way and found the problem in no time. Unrelated, but does that battery range have to run some sort of re-cal since it's been sitting so long? Not too familiar with these.
@@inothome it was 17 at full charge but yeah pretty disappointing lol. It does just have a small battery pack like the first Toyota Camry hybrid that wasn’t a plug in.
the C-Max is notorious for rodent damage near the rear of the front shock towers. If it is a plug in, it's a PHEV. Should say Energy on the tailgate. Nice bug hut
I own 2013 C-Max Hybrid SE. It is give me huge trabble. I must disconnect battery any time I park it, if I left battery connected it is drain out. Also door electric doesn't work properly. I keep C-Max only for mileage. Winter season 37.4 M/G. Sommer season 39 M/G.
hope you feel better soon mate 👍 great bit of work there those dam rodents they sure like a bit of wire . have to say that scope looks pretty cool . lucky that rat 🐀 did not chew a bit lower that would have been a pig to repair
Honestly it’s only helpful if you know the vehicle platform already and just know what modules should be there and not. The only situation where I find it beneficial is when I’m disconnecting sections of the network like with the GL320 parasitic drain video. Comparing a full network scan to a scan with a section removed. It makes I faster at saying “yep the connector goes to this module”.
You CAN do it! 😁
Where is the water boy “you can do it “😂
Its whats ivan bites on will all might...😅com issues ivan is ready to battle 😅..cheer phad

Get well man! Even if it means slowing things down. Health is always nr1.
Jake CAN not ever fail!

Great job! It's time to give Topdon the boot.
Na, no scan tool is perfect. They will see the video and figure out what the issue is.
Nice work man

Occasionally the Autel scan tools will make the ABS in some older GM vehicles act stupid too.
i love communication issues
👍
I hope you get well very soon!
Thank you for your video, great scope that Topdon phoenix , i will buy one 👏🏻
congrat 10k you should have 500k great video tks
Maybe one day lol thanks!
What did Topdon say about the Ms Can issue? Did you report it?
Not yet I’ve not had time.
Excellent, well done. 👏

Exellent. 👌

Not that I found but I would have expected something around 50 miles atleast lol
@@autodiagyt Yeah, 12 is a joke and can't be right.

It’s always better to be swamped than twiddling your thumbs

Yup almost everyone is getting sick right now.

@28:41...it has insomnia!
It seems like you see a lot of broken or corroded wire in a lot of your videos . What do you think?
Yep that’s the majority of what I get. I’ll see if I can get some different things to diag lol
i swear some modules cant talk and chew bubblegum at the same time ! geeze
They should make a sensor which can detect rodent urine
Could you please add Turkish background to each of your videos? I would appreciate if you add it, thank you in advance
Don’t you just love communication issues
To me they are what I enjoy the most.
I know everybody I work things I’m crazy because when I get stuff like that, I actually get happy because it makes me think
Hi bro
Your new follower I come to learn about communication system and functions please help me
Great video Jake.
Great work as always 🤤Can I get your email? I have mustang ecoboost bcm lost communication with abs pwr steering column ,
It’s in the channel description
How much has topography helped you with diags?
Really seems like a game changer...
