Not necessary. You just need to be able to read the drawing and know the standards. For autocad drawing there are draftsman who will do drafting as per engineer instructions. However, working on AutoCAD is a must skill for any engineer.

In construction field only Autocad 2d and ms excel is enough for electrical site engineer, should have good email writing skills.
