【Introduction】Chinese drama "Luoyang" (2021) is adapted from Ma Boyong's novel with the same name, which tells a series of stories that happened during the Wu Zhou period where a group of people from different classes investigated the unsettled case in Luoyang. Gao Bingzhu (played by Huang Xuan), a vice Sleuth-hound captain bottom of Luoyang, was involved in a case by mistake and became a suspect. When he tried to prove his innocence, he met Baili Hongyi (played by Wang Yibo) who found out the truth about his father being poisoned. The two cooperate and investigate. Si Yue (played by Song Qian), who is from a prestigious family, investigates and approaches Gao Bingzhu, who is excellent in martial arts and has wisdom to find information related to the case. These two people of completely different classes are not pleasing to each other's eyes. But they had to be tied together. As they continued to dig into the case and search for the truth, they discovered a shocking conspiracy capable of destroying the God city and staining Luoshui with blood. After seeing many times this scene, I realize this Cdrama Luoyang asks the main casts to transform their character from beginning until ending gradually.
Hongyi's expression at beginning was stiff, such an aloof person & ignorant. Yet his expression is changed gradually into a man with warm heart, full of love & smile (even he will only smile for certain occasions). Even when he has also to deal with a critical moment, he can ease it calmer. He becomes like that after a few sad occurrences happened to him & he can feel the love from a woman.
In my personal opinion, Yibo knows well how to potray Hongyi's character changing.
Same as well for Gao. At the beginning, his expression was full of anger & bitterness. Yet after he can say anything to Siyue about his wounded heart & fall in love with her, his expression becomes soft, warm & little bit cheerful.
Also it happens to Siyue & Liu. Though it is not much like Hongyi & Gao's characters.
Really Luoyang is one of nicest Cdrama. Nice in directing as well.

At first, Liu's personality really annoyed me. But through a lot of things with Bali she has matured a lot. After the death of my best friend Bali, I felt her growth. She no longer bothered Bali too much. Instead she just quietly sat next to Bali and took his hand. Then there are scenes like the brother going to meet Bali, or supporting Bali's decision no matter what. After so many things, she made me, from someone who didn't like her, have to change my view of this person. Up until this episode I realized that parents are always right. They always want the best for their children. Forcing Bali to marry Liu was the right decision. And Bali's decision to marry Liu is also the most correct thing Bali has ever done.

I find it kind of sad he is falling in love with a woman that pretty much together with his own father blackmailed him into marrying her. That first scene with her when she said he can only look at the scroll after their marriage her just rubbed me the wrong way, I do not like her. Sorry.
