It was a wink to the previous scene and showed how much Aziraphale was still afraid of crossing the line and entering "their" side; 4. 2:25 - Here I would like to clarify the circumstances of the scene. It shows Crowley reading in a bookstore. (there is no background there, but it can be inferred from Fell's small "attributes", and besides, we know well that Crowley doesn't read or own books) The wine stain on Aziraphale's property makes him angry, he wants his friend's belongings were intact; 5. 2:32 - (Although the comment applies to the entire animatic) Stills show the passage of time and how much time has passed since Fell returned to Heaven. I've seen a lot of comics and fanart where Crowley and Aziraphale just hugged or kissed each other right after breaking their long separation, forgiving each other everything. @@VonKellcsiis I agree. Maggie and Nina nailed it with their lack of communication. This literally happened because they both haven’t really learned how to talk to each other properly. Crowley misinterpreted what Aziraphale meant. He does need him and he wanted him to come with him to see the old Crowley. The one he met when they were both angels had this spark in his eyes and that’s gone now. He doesn’t understand that Crowley does not want to go back to that and that he does not need them. He still believes heaven should be a place of good and he intends on fixing it for Crowley. It needs to be good enough for him and for the world. Crowley believes that Aziraphale will only want to be with if he changes back to an Angel and he doesn’t want and shouldn’t have to change. He knows way more than Aziraphale and that’s his own fault. He never told him what Gabriel said about shutting his stupid mouth and die, he never told him what he saw in heaven, and he enables the belief at times. “Nothing lasts forever.” Was Aziraphale saying how he would give up his life on Earth, restaurants, traveling, his bookshop and everything else to make things better and be with Crowley. Meanwhile Crowley heard how what they had wouldn’t last forever. “I forgive you.” As much as that kiss made me scream and how much I liked it I can’t deny it was wrong of Crowley. He meant to show him exactly what he felt, an attempt at convincing Aziraphale to stay with him, and perhaps a goodbye. Aziraphale both loved and hated the kiss. He wanted it but saw it as Crowley tempting him and I can’t deny that I understand where he was coming from. He wanted the first kiss to be special maybe at the picnic they talked about in season 1. Something that was build up to. Even if it wasn’t Crowley’s intentions it must have hurt him. It was raw, desperate, and unclear. And to think all of this could have been avoided if they sat down and had a real conversation. I blame The Metatron an Neil Gaiman. 😤
Ok im ok with the sad ending like im still crying but first off give azi taste of his own medicine also ive been saying that if azi shows up out of the blue and just thinks crowley will take him back with barely any effort and crowley does crowley would have had no character development none and thats why the break up had to happen it gives them room for the character development they need i honestly believe crowley should be petty and not forgive azi for a while in the next season before being like ok and this gives azi the chance to learn that heaven is toxic and deal with his religious trauma id like it if crowley only agrees to talk to him next season just to stop the second coming because i think the dont bother was him understanding that he cant help azi he will never be able to help azi learn and azi is going to have to find out himself and when he agrees azi who is now ready and sad under the circumstance crowley falls back in love watching azi and all the little things even though hes still enraged and i do believe it will end on good terms but not before crowley breaks azis heart first
In my head the reason why Crowley didn't take Aziraphale back is bc its been YEARS. He has suffered and waited and hoped for so long... but then he couldn't anymore. He sold the bookshop, he moved on with his life, the bleeding wound where Aziraphale was has scarred over. Crowley has accepted that Aziraphale is not coming back, and then he does. Crowley isn't going to forget what happened, he can't. Aziraphale coming back is shoving all the progress he made back in his face, telling him that it was all pointless because he came back. That everything can be alright again, the way it was before. But Crowley has changed and cannot accept that. Cannot forget that. Him saying "I forgive you", is him throwing back Aziraphale's own words back in his face. It's petty, but it's only fair that Aziraphale hurts the way that Crowley hurt. (That is, in Crowley's POV.) That's my opinion at least. Regardless I want to say that this animation is gorgeous. It clearly took a long time to make, the art style is so good! And I love the character designs for them. Crowley's depression era HURTS lol. This is just, AMAZING. Thank you for putting this into the world.
Really, that was one of my main "theories" for the ending of this animatic. But never in my life would I have put it like that (I mean, I wouldn't have put it that well). The only thing that bothered me about all this was the fact that a few years on the scale of their long life is like the snap of a finger. @@ksanax_art I'm glad that I was able to word it well! I think that Crowley suffered so much BC Aziraphale wasn't there. Even when they were apart they were still on Earth/still friendly or at least there was hope for reconciliation. But Arizaphale rejected Crowley. 6000+ years of knowing each other, yearning... I think he took it hard. I imagine he does a LOT of sleeping, trying to forget that they could have been an "us". I think he tries to move on relatively quick, probably on the advice of Maggie and Nina(or some self-help books). I don't think he's over it though :). Thanks for replying!
totally agreed with this theories, but if i might've still wanting the happy/ a slight good ending, it could have been because how sudden aziraphale asking him ''to come back be the way the used to be" , i mean , after being basically neglected for idk, year's, ofc anyone will have a hard time to accept someone there was once in their live. but maybe, just maybe , I'll took some time to win him over, they have been in love for millennia, if it's took aziraphale 1000 more years to earn that trust and love, i think he will do it. love win y'all.

The switching of hands was so creative. Showing Crowley's Eyes past the glasses as well was so interesting. The aftermath of both sides and how they must have felt and journeys to find the truth for themselves with the guilt and betrayal. Very well done.

As a curiosity, I will add that this is probably my least favorite frame in the entire Animatic lmao, but that's because that day I didn't have the strength to draw too much and I wanted to push the work forward. And thank you for your kind words ❤

I've been thinking about how they would handle the reunion in S3 and (hopefully not permanently) I was thinking of how I really don't want Crowley to forgive him. Ive never cried to good omens animation, not once but oh boy this one. This one made me sob so much that I dont think ill recover from it. Its so beautiful and i absolutly love it, but i swear my next therapy session is gonna be about this animation. I really love all the "biblically accurate" Aziraphale fan art I've seen, but those things with all the eyes are Thrones, the ones with all the heads are Cherubim, and the ones with all the wings are Seraphim. Then again, most charts I've seen have Principalities outranking Archangels, so "biblical accuracy" shouldn't stand in the way of rad af fan art.

The way I gasped at the end! I think that was an incredible ending. I loved so many things about your animatic, i think i enjoyed seeing "post-divorce" Crowley and how he changes the most! Well done on this entire project, what a beautiful thing you made!
It did make me cry and all, but I LOVE THE SAD ENDING I don't think that Crowley will accept Aziraphale back as if nothing happened; they might need a bit more time, like Maggie and Nina, but even if they don't get back together in the end their decision still fits with their characters Your animatic not only shows that, beautifully, but also gives us a bit of variety. NO NOT THIS FRICKING SONG AGAIN 😭 This is amazingly gorgeous ! So sad and bittersweet. I definitely believe this is not the end for them ; they need time to heal, to get in touch with their emotions and process everything. But, above all, they 👏need 👏 to 👏 TALK 👏
This is the worst ending could ever possibly ever happens, it's Aziraphale leaving the bookshop that he kept for tens of years for sale, him leaving Crowley alone again on Earth, suffering, waiting, hoping that a miracle would show up and make the angle he spent 6000 years with to come home , just to help him recover the fragile, comfortable zone he made for "our"self. It really hurts to see the future that might be coming to the series, but I hope we all can be there for it, even if it cuts deeply and made a hole in The Ineffables we are.

Him saying "I forgive you", is him throwing back Aziraphale's own words back in his face. It's petty, but it's only fair that Aziraphale hurts the way that Crowley hurt. (That is, in Crowley's POV.)
That's my opinion at least. Regardless I want to say that this animation is gorgeous. It clearly took a long time to make, the art style is so good! And I love the character designs for them. Crowley's depression era HURTS lol. This is just, AMAZING. Thank you for putting this into the world.
Really, that was one of my main "theories" for the ending of this animatic. But never in my life would I have put it like that (I mean, I wouldn't have put it that well).
The only thing that bothered me about all this was the fact that a few years on the scale of their long life is like the snap of a finger. But after all, why should Crowley suffer for decades because of this?

@@ksanax_art I'm glad that I was able to word it well! I think that Crowley suffered so much BC Aziraphale wasn't there. Even when they were apart they were still on Earth/still friendly or at least there was hope for reconciliation. But Arizaphale rejected Crowley. 6000+ years of knowing each other, yearning... I think he took it hard. I imagine he does a LOT of sleeping, trying to forget that they could have been an "us". I think he tries to move on relatively quick, probably on the advice of Maggie and Nina(or some self-help books). I don't think he's over it though :).

totally agreed with this theories, but if i might've still wanting the happy/ a slight good ending, it could have been because how sudden aziraphale asking him ''to come back be the way the used to be" , i mean , after being basically neglected for idk, year's, ofc anyone will have a hard time to accept someone there was once in their live.
but maybe, just maybe , I'll took some time to win him over, they have been in love for millennia, if it's took aziraphale 1000 more years to earn that trust and love, i think he will do it. love win y'all.

The switching of hands was so creative. Showing Crowley's Eyes past the glasses as well was so interesting. The aftermath of both sides and how they must have felt and journeys to find the truth for themselves with the guilt and betrayal. Very well done.

I've been thinking about how they would handle the reunion in S3 and (hopefully not permanently) I was thinking of how I really don't want Crowley to forgive him. I feel it would be good for them to work it out on screen and have them finally communicate lmao.

My GOD. I love how you put the meanings of some scenes, and i had been watching your Channel for a while (because i do like ToH too) and i have to say that you improved a lot!!! Also, i like the idea of Crowley not forgiving Aziraphel after all the time that had been past (that i like it doesnt mean It doesnt cause me PAIN) because It would be so fast and he (Azi) has to win his forgiveness.
the way you originally had aziraphale be pure white and crowley be pure black but then they fade to very light/very dark grey at 2:01 HURT SO BAD- YOURE SO EVIL YET GENIUS FOR THAT 😭😭😭

Ive never cried to good omens animation, not once but oh boy this one. This one made me sob so much that I dont think ill recover from it. Its so beautiful and i absolutly love it, but i swear my next therapy session is gonna be about this animation. Im so glad that neil said that the ending is gonna be happy one, but deep down Im so scared that this is the way its gonna actually end, and if so, Im srs gonna commit crime. we cant let neil see this or he'll destroy our hearts. your art is so beautiful and amazing!

I really love all the "biblically accurate" Aziraphale fan art I've seen, but those things with all the eyes are Thrones, the ones with all the heads are Cherubim, and the ones with all the wings are Seraphim. Then again, most charts I've seen have Principalities outranking Archangels, so "biblical accuracy" shouldn't stand in the way of rad af fan art.

This is the worst ending could ever possibly ever happens, it's Aziraphale leaving the bookshop that he kept for tens of years for sale, him leaving Crowley alone again on Earth, suffering, waiting, hoping that a miracle would show up and make the angle he spent 6000 years with to come home , just to help him recover the fragile, comfortable zone he made for "our"self. It really hurts to see the future that might be coming to the series, but I hope we all can be there for it, even if it cuts deeply and made a hole in The Ineffables we are.
