This is exactly what MVL pointed out before the tournament in his preview. About Kramnik´s overoptimism as being one of his potential vulnerabilities. www.mvlchess.com/en/2018/03/08/candidates-2018/ . And the Russian notes his second loss with this feature in play.
my only criticism, he lost and he is bragging my position is better, then why the heck did u lose ?!! i just cant believe why they pushed him into the candidates, MVL deserves it more.
That is absolutely right...Even the position after Rd6 is not clear, and the later endgame with B on e8 is definitely not better for black, but he is so stubborn in all this "black is better" evaluation
because well, maybe his position was better and he made mistakes. so his argumentation is not wrong, it's not bragging. he is just sharing his views on the position.
what's the stupid "like a man" doing here? doesn't matter if you are a man or woman if you lose. it's hard to lose and they are not talking about that but analysing the game.
you didnt get my point. you are still referring to "men don't whine..." what a stupid thing to say. you can say if you lose you should try to accept it...but not this stupid "men ...stuff". I mean, in what times are we living in?
6:27-7:05. The line with the hallucinated rook on c8 with "Rf8+ Kg5 Rxf2" is awesome. And Shak just goes along with the analysis. In the end Kramnik agrees "ok, probably draw." 11:32-12:07 is also hilarious!
Mamedyarov seems so cool here. But Kramnik, suprisingly, seems confused, arrogant and lack of confidence... That makes him so disgusting... Stop talking that much and listen Mamedyarov "a bit"... And the girl is like a worker of Kramnik :)))
I am really happy to see Mamedyarov playing so strong in this tournament and at the same time it astounds me how shattered Kramnik seems to be after this loss. Not only does he keep arguing when his lines are simply worse and calculations prove incorrect, but he clearly shows lack of self-control and arrogance. Just observe their 'blindfold exchange' at around 6:50 and listen to Mamedyarov's sigh at 7:09! These nuances can tell you a lot about their current emotional state and chances for victory. As an experienced chess coach, I must admit again that success at this level is largely dependent on psychology and in this area of the intellectual warfare Mamedyarov has obviously become a very powerful candidate to beat Carlsen. Perhaps even the strongest in this tournament. And he plays not only with astonishing strength but also remarkable consistency.
Glad to see the comments here reflect the same impression I got about this interview. Kramnik acting arrogant like he knows more about the game than Shak, who just kicked his ass. Understandable that he is frustrated with his loss, but learn some humility.
I'm looking forward to the day that someone finally tells Kramnik "shut up" during one of these interviews after he loses. I get it: he's an all time great, he brought down Kasparov and resurrected the Berlin (for better or worse), he's shown he can play any style he wants, he's aged well in the game. Too often I see him speak first, speak over people, cut off people as they're speaking, and show no consideration for the WINNING player's view on the position. The other day I thought maybe he was "Andy Kaufmanning" us, but it's just him and he's just arrogant. It's not the Kramnik and other candidates tournament. Maybe he's wondering why he wasn't brought in to talk about the game during the So-Aronian interview.
Because Kramnik is so pendulous, he does not want to listen to Momma and he pretends to ignore it, the girl is only part of Kramnik's stupid and without a doubt they put aside the Azeri who with great character maintains his position, I definitely believe that Shak is the only one of the candidates that is playing a great chess, leaving aside the amount of errors of the others, added that in that way they can not make rivalry to the Norwegian.
Exactly. It's an example how a very unexpected loss (yet another one in a very important tournament!) influences a player's behaviour and damages his analytical ability. Here we can see that Kramnik is no longer able to think clearly (compare to Caruana in his analysis vs Mamedyarov - the American grandmaster remained very calm and discusses the variations with Mamedyarov on the same level). That's why Mamedyarov's sigh at 7:09 - he is aware of the devastating impact this defeat has had on Kramnik and doesn't want to further humiliate him.
Vlad won the presser but lost the game. The interesting part of this press conference is how Kramnik completely takes the mouse and proceeds to basically show how he calculated great lines, had multiple chances to draw, etc...instead of just admitting that he lost. It appears from this analysis that it was his fault that he lost and not the skill of his opponent. He is not playing some amateur in a cafe in Moscow, he is playing a super GM.
i‘m not suprised that kramnik lost his cool a little after the 2 losses. but i‘m a little bit more shocked that sometimes in the last years he just seems to have off days where he doesn‘t get the positions. i mean of course he is a super GM and one of the greatest but its beyond me how often repeats how good his position was when it really wasn‘t. that being said - really well played shak
Kramnik is objectively genius. Just think about Fisher! He was really difficult and totally moody person, but... still the huge champion. However we should respect them. I think.
Thats it i cant any more of this if kramnik is in it, every time he will say i was better, i was winning, i blundered, bla bla bla, wow he never gives credit to his opponents so annoying to watch his press conference....
Actually black was slightly better alll the game, according to the superstrong fork of stockfish, mcbrain,i dont see that arrogance. But it is nornal... after all kasparov's widows and carlsen's bitches now are more relaxed, the danger is far.Neverthless if fabiano comes back to his best form, carlsen's days are ended.
When Kramnik looses over the board, he wins at the press conference.
Ricardo Galarza lol😂
Kramnik said that "I saw a halucination and thought that my rook was on c8" Shak even refutates that impossible line! Congrats Shak!
lol Kramnik just thinks his position is always better
This is exactly what MVL pointed out before the tournament in his preview. About Kramnik´s overoptimism as being one of his potential vulnerabilities. www.mvlchess.com/en/2018/03/08/candidates-2018/ . And the Russian notes his second loss with this feature in play.

Lol, Kramnik:
no,no, no black is better.. no, no black is clearly better.. no, no, black is winning.
Mamedyarov seems so amused by Kramnik's persistent unwillingness to take the loss like a man
what's the stupid "like a man" doing here? doesn't matter if you are a man or woman if you lose. it's hard to lose and they are not talking about that but analysing the game.
akawojo because men do not whine about their hurt pride. Kramnik is being immature here.
you didnt get my point. you are still referring to "men don't whine..." what a stupid thing to say. you can say if you lose you should try to accept it...but not this stupid "men ...stuff". I mean, in what times are we living in?
ur a "its 2018" meme. haha. you know what im saying.
6:27-7:05. The line with the hallucinated rook on c8 with "Rf8+ Kg5 Rxf2" is awesome. And Shak just goes along with the analysis. In the end Kramnik agrees "ok, probably draw."
11:32-12:07 is also hilarious!
Lars Erik Brobakken they went with the hallucinated rook line declined instead
The "hallucinated rook". That phrase will have me laughing for days.
Maybe Kramnik should let Shak tell something, as he lost to him ... :D
What a stubborn Kramnik is! He says he was just better all the game. Congrats Mamedyarov! He is better player and personality
Mamedyarov is def not a better player but still a great player
Kramnik says: "Its a matter of Tempe, ^^ If I have Bishop on e5, then I am ok.." King e4, and Rh5, and it is ok...
One of them was World Champiom and other one is trying to earn a right to fight for it. No doubt who is better and bigger out of those two.
Janjacdr1, as you say Kramnik WAS world champion. Today he isn't and Mamedyarov's rating is higher. It shows who is better player NOW
Cavid Həsənli It doesnt really work like that. Kramnik's record against Shakh is very good and ratings are relative.
The commentator should have given the mouse to Shak, then he could have shut Kramnik up and taught him how he wasn't winning the whole time!
That's right Kramnik, you were better the whole game which is why you lost.
Ok black is better and the score is 1-0
Aniket Bramhankar 😂😂😂
+Aniket Bramhankar Every chess player knows that the final result has nothing to do with the evaluation of a position of the game
Kramnik is being pure arrogant, engines love Shakh throughout the game!
Kramnik is so aggressive when he lost a game, like he can not agreed any more than he can be outplayed. Only he can lose game by himself.
Mamedyarov seems so cool here. But Kramnik, suprisingly, seems confused, arrogant and lack of confidence... That makes him so disgusting... Stop talking that much and listen Mamedyarov "a bit"... And the girl is like a worker of Kramnik :)))
Everybody is a worker for Kramnik.
And what is your rating?
Here Mamedyarov cuts things out 5:33, saying: -Ok, enough of that nonsense.
I am really happy to see Mamedyarov playing so strong in this tournament and at the same time it astounds me how shattered Kramnik seems to be after this loss. Interesting perspective, StrangeDeimos. Maybe it even acts as self-propellant. Type of auxiliary power.
😂😂😂this is the greatest chess conference I watched in a long time.
Kramnik is too arrogant for a loser opposite of Mamedyarov's humbleness as a winner
All about tempi, Vlad.... just give Kramnik two moves in a row at some point, and he wins !?
Kramnik keeps repeating he was better
That's called arrogance, yeah...
Glad to see the comments here reflect the same impression I got about this interview. Kramnik acting arrogant like he knows more about the game than Shak, who just kicked his ass. Understandable that he is frustrated with his loss, but learn some humility.
to sum up the game quoting Kramnik: "certain drawing chances but a little bit not in time.."
Meaning no drawing chances at all.
Imagine a press conference with MC after two losses like this in the most important tournament of the year...
Imagine what happens when MC loses 2 in a row and attend the press conference Lol...
Halal olsun sene Şehriyar! İreli! 👏🏼👏🏼🇦🇿
11:54 The way Kramnik puts pawn at A4 and looks at shak like: Are you sure? Is amazing. Kramnik is genius just was tired. Congrats shak

The last sentence :D :D
Shakh must be irritated because of long game ) Kramnik didn have chance though
Kramnik thinks he is better even when he is losing..
Bravo Shak!
sharp conference, it's what we want to see!
Kramnik is still shocked and exhausted, furthermore he lost the second game in a row and his chances for first place diminished drastically.
Exactly. It's an example how a very unexpected loss (yet another one in a very important tournament!) influences a player's behaviour and damages his analytical ability. 11:58 Such a cute giggling from Mamedyarov, very nice guy. Oh yes, and a phenomenal chess player.
Kramnik has the biggest EGO in the chess world. I can't imagine these 2 guys having a beer at a local pub.
and Shakh is the modest in the elite of chess World .
Kamran Guliyev not really, Aronian and Caruana are very modest...
Fernando Mariz how come not really? you guess that Mamedyarov is not as you said very modest like Aronian and Caruana?
11:54 Mamedyarov: "my line is much better"........... Kramnik: "oh really"......... Mamedyarov: Runfield laugh
Vlad won the presser but lost the game. I would have probably lost it at some point and say: You have to win to prove a point Vladimir.
i‘m not suprised that kramnik lost his cool a little after the 2 losses. but i‘m a little bit more shocked that sometimes in the last years he just seems to have off days where he doesn‘t get the positions. i mean of course he is a super GM and one of the greatest but its beyond me how often repeats how good his position was when it really wasn‘t. that being said - really well played shak
awesome post game analysis.
Can anyone explain wht happened at 11:55?? Couldn't hear them clearly
Shak: "Rxe6 is winning. I calculate(d), I see (saw) this line, but I think my line is much better"
Kramnik has shown the draw in the position that Shak estimated as a win
Good game of Shahriyar ,wish him a good luck and win the tournament.
Kramnik is clearly very angry. It's not arrogance but shows how much this tournament means to him.
I like Karmniks approach to chess, he tries his atmost to win. Better than to have draws and rest
Shakh is just sooooo tired .... just let that genius go and get some sleep
12:01 Karjakin's laugh
Kramnik is arrogant and ridicol today
Kramnik is objectively genius. Just think about Fisher! He was really difficult and totally moody person, but... still the huge champion. However we should respect them. I think.
Shakh is great player.I think he can win the tournament and inshaAllah will be win...
he can win not he can to win it is modal verb,so without to
Kamran Guliyev minnetdaram sehvimi duzeltdiyine gore
This is funny interview 😂🔫🔫🔫
Thats it i cant any more of this if kramnik is in it, every time he will say i was better, i was winning, i blundered, bla bla bla, wow he never gives credit to his opponents so annoying to watch his press conference....
I missed the questions from the 'chess-active'-guy...
11:55 hahahaha
Shak is just great... his father was a boxer. Shak looks like a boxer but he plays great chess... i think he wil win the candidates 2018
I smell some kind of rivalry
Kramnik got schooled in chess!!)
11:55 lol
really love Kramnik and all but this was sort of ridiculous. Even finding that a4 didn't rescue him.
hallucination lol Kramnik you brilliant funny dude lol
these guys talking in english is funny
Kraminik tried a premature attackulation and lost the game.
at least Kramnik has been world champion
You are pure evil! That is the best burn I've seen in a while :D :D
Azerbaijan 👍 Mamedyarov
Whats up with kramnik he is so arrogant
Actually black was slightly better alll the game, according to the superstrong fork of stockfish, mcbrain,i dont see that arrogance. But it is nornal... after all kasparov's widows and carlsen's bitches now are more relaxed, the danger is far.Neverthless if fabiano comes back to his best form, carlsen's days are ended.
