PO makes so much sense. We can't just let the government do what they are doing without questioning when we are not sure of something. PO is spot on with his questions. We need to take note. Like he said the budget is not putting food on the table of normal families. Inflation is also a question. The real prices in the store tells the story. Please take note of the questions PO is asking. What has happened to the rest of the house - no one is questioning what PM and treasury are doing???
Don Polye's comments don't reflect the interest of the 10 million people of Papua New Guinea at this very critical time. Such comments come from people who have lost their way and resort to the "Blame Game "
Spot on PO. Politics aside, the questions asked by MP for Ialibu-Pangia, Hon. Peter O'Neill deserves careful analysis by all Papua New Guineans, great and small objectively. And Public Servants should be more concerned about the IMF conditions on downsizing the Public Service. We all should be concerned.
He actually got me thinking of how bad the state of the economy really is in. And someone said to him that he is a small politician who should not say anything, how dare they - PO is the voice of his people and also a voice for normal Papua New Guineans. His questions were well presented.
I studied Public Policy and Development issues in a highly reputable UK University in 1989 and 1992. I question the many irrational public policies this current Government has undertaken. For example, why create additional Ministries out of Crop Commodities. Why create more Ministries. We have a three tier Government, yet we can not make it work. We really need to overhaul both the National and Sub National level, not create anymore institutions. The Commodity Boards in the Agriculture Industry are not performing. That requires the immediate attention of the the current Government... The creation of additional Ministries is an expensive exercise and will not resolve this nation's current economic crisis.. It will be a case of a very complex and cumbersome and expensive Government system.
We the people of this richly blessed country Papua new Guinea need to rise up before it's too late..inflation is killing us directly and indirectly..let our voices be heard if not the rich will go richer and poor will go poorer..
I totally agree with PO...because I saw treasure always talking about economic growing very well but why companies are experiencing alot of hard times...please government needs to do something to rescue this beautiful country.
Inflation is very visible and still high. Some of us are already fed up with increased prices of basic goods and services. The honorable peter oniells variety of questions are of national importance in relation to our economy. FACTS
Spot On Hon. Peter O'Neil. He must be observing the current government with horror of how incompetent the Pangu led coalition government is in leading PNG during this time where we face global economic crises. He (PO) knows exactly where PNG's position will be in the near future. He just mentioned devaluing of kina and certainly we have this news Printed on the front pages of our two daily news papers. This is one of the best Parliament sitting.
Hon PO your questions are very important based on the current economic situation of our country PNG. Any people of this nation are not aware of what the government is planning to stabilized the current economic situation. Am interested the growth of the GDP Increase
Please olgeta Keke Mahn pulap na ol hat stret lo tell the truth to the general public that they have denied the fact that they are the major idiots behind this scenario. Need to change the current PM and this lier treasurer??? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Take criticisms and respond with maturity. Enough of political point scoring. Unemployment is rising, food prices are sky rocketing, inflation at high time with high tax and less disposable income with law and order on rise everywhere, roads inaccessible, power outages everyday, business closing down, SMEs struggling to compete with the dominant Asian competition and high rental rates for accommodation. Economy is only okay to the Politicians at out expense as they are covered with so many allowances that cushion the impacts by the deteriorating Economy. Stop sugar coating all your responses and FIX OUR ECONOMY.
PM's point of order is preposterous. Some questions require context to establish proper understanding prior to the response. Also, PNG at-large needs to understand what Parliament is talking about and therefore context is as important as the questions. Question time needs to be extended to allow adequate time for proper debates.
Regardless, PO is raising questions of serious National Importance! Doing his duty as an MP.Inap lo play Politics lo question time. Fact is people are suffering! Worst Treasurer in the History of PNG, with blind MPs who can't hold the Govt to account. Whose interest do they serve??!!
Peter O'Neil the question are fact and we the people shake your hands for that..this is what we are facing now...unemployment rate has increasing every now and then...
Okay. When he knows he is not responsible will be smart enough with such quality questions. Would be fair if PO will be asked on what he has done to save this sovereign nation in terms of inflation and standards of living and so on! If not em maski nao. Larim sampla member askim na PO yu tu raskol yah! Sindaun nao. Piais Winghti has shown a great example knowing he sank this nation. He is responsible for all this
Yes but as long as PO is the Member of the house he needs to ask these questions because these questions answers are directly on the needs of the people...the Government needs a proper strategy to approach this questions.
Awa Pits (PO)yah King, papa blo infrastructure. He has the potential and capability to lead this young national forward. PO has the Heart of us the citizens of PNG. M Tru² pikinini Kumul yah.
Hon Peter Oniel's questions should have been answered! Spika giaman lo surukim go lo wanem? Sem olsem toktok em wokim em tru ating! Well done PO lo tok aut bai ol man meri harem na luk save.
Need to change all this nonsense parliament ruling process, some important questions raised need to be addressed openly with due responses convey at the same time, waste of resource and time with this ruling of billing process.
PO is talking about serious issues of this country and this so called Treasurer and the Members in our honorable haus is taking it lightly.⚠️ And like what the hell, the Treasurer is laughing 🤦⚠️⚠️ This is BAD!
PO you are very intelligent, your question is very valid, that guy with fancy voice need to answer those questions, what are shame to Ling stucky and those who are supporting stucky and arguing with PO, speaker who's interest you are saving. PO is asking valid questions, seriously you guys are there for doing your own business not for people. Shameless members.
Papua New Guinea needs to change the current government. They are turning a blind eye on the reality that is faced by the simple people on the ground or rather the life this country is facing is much worse then what the Government of the day is bull shitting about....
a pilot needs to make aware of his passengers before making a landing or a crash landing . so it is important to address the urgent need and make clarifications on down falls. Accept faults and look on a better standing and resolutions. The people shouldn't be suffering like right now. why?
It is a said reality that the very people we voted in to fight for us don't even care about real issues affecting us. At least PO is man enough to ask real questions. Prices of everything has gone up na umi beat around the bush stap
The last time IMF was suppose to come here was after devaluation of our currency and was spiraling down. If they are coming again is a bad omen impending.
I think PO is pointing out some of the things where the people of this country don't know. Treasury Minister needs to clearly clarify it to the people of this nation. We are not going to blindly suffer from what you guys have done.
One must know IMF and it's history before jumping to conclusions. Economies have crashed due to harsh policies by the IMF that we don't have any hand in whatsoever. Know Economics and Geopolitics around the world in depth, so strategic policies are integrated to best suit our National Interests.
Just respond to the question ...Incompetence treasurer and his government ..Very biased and corrupt government in the political history of PNG since the independence ..
Enough of the fancy language our country's economy is declining if there's growth in areas simply justify!otherwise these so called growth are not facts but wishful thinking!
Very sad indeed. The Speaker and PMJM had to use some stupid technicalities of Parliament to avoid answering very valid questions by PO. You guys cannot continue to fool PNG. Many Pngians are schooled enough to understand what is happening in our country. I would like to think that your days in office is numbered. We are watching and we are becoming worried with the way this country's economy is being managed.
PO is stating facts and asking some important questions about our Economy and the crises we the citizens are facing, how can you blindly interrupt this pressing issue and tell him to stop, how funny this is.
Hon PO you are asking good questions but one question to you. where is the 3 billion kina UBS loan? Does it making any profit or is it a liability? Is it one of the causes of inflation that we have? What about the loans that you got? I think stop asking questions but rather help the government by providing the advice to rescue the country. Stop playing Mr. Right. You are also the cause of the problem.
One of the useless speaker. Matters of national interest needs to be debated probably. What is the use of having opposition and government in Parliament when the speaker cannot allow open debates on matters of national interest?
Peter O'Neil is talking about the real issues that we are facing at the moment and the Parliamentarians cannot take it seriously. The country is heading wrong direction.
Too much borrowing only to spend foolishly and continue to borrow and borrow because you only want to fill in your pockets. Our kina value has dropped drastically and yet you still continue to borrow. Enough is enough please
The Opposition Leader Peter O'Neil is really with the people of PNG and his question to the treasurer is the questions that ordinary people often have in mine. JAmes Marape and his teams are not really down to the life of ordinary citizens are currently facing.
Thank you PO for the important questions asked.
PO is a very clever guy. Thanks for asking these important questions
PO makes so much sense. We can't just let the government do what they are doing without questioning when we are not sure of something. PO is spot on with his questions. We need to take note. In reality the treasurer is in a dream world. Former PMPO is asking valid questions on behalf of us all
We the people of this richly blessed country Papua new Guinea need to rise up before it's too late..inflation is killing us directly and indirectly..let our voices be heard if not the rich will go richer and poor will go poorer..
Thank you PO. Very good Question.
