Millions of NASCAR fans watched the Indy race because of Larson. While Larson had his struggles, the race was a good one with an exciting finish. Then, the NASCAR race was a complete dud. They even let Stage 2 end under caution unnecessarily. I'm sure Indy racing gained several fans today and NASCAR many.
I hate to see the South grandstands, turn 2 grandstands and the turn 4 seats ( the blue ones ) taken down. They were the best seats with the best view of the race.
What a total disappointment nascar called this race early because they couldn’t dry the track. They could have tried harder tonight or ran the rest of the race Monday. NASCAR dropped the ball twice this week with this race and Ricky’s fine.
Only if the race didn't make it to halfway but since it did why should they ppd the rest to Monday Morning for example? It always been the rule when it comes to halfway. Or the end of stage 2 if thst came 1st. Since both were the same distance it doesn't matter in this case.
I know the rules book. I just don't think NASCAR put in there greatest effort to get the race in. Especially since we've got rain tires. So many people came to that race spent there money for a full race. It's a crown jewel race I just feel there should have been more effort for a full race.
They only use rain tires on road courses and tracks where the run the short track package (Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond, Phoenix, and Loudon for some reason)
This weekend's activities were a mixed bag. While Kyle Lawson managed to finish the 108th Indianapolis 500 ( he finished 18th..the pit stop timing bit him though ), he arrives to Charlotte.....and rain thwarted him again, but THIS time, the Coca-Cola 600 was over, only 249 of the scheduled 400 laps were completed, and didn't have a chance to finish it. The operative word here were RAIN, rain thwarted Indianapolis and Charlotte, the Indy 500 completed its task ( all 200 laps ) and the Coca-Cola 600 ( 300 ) was at least passed the halfway point when rain ended it ( 249 / 400 ). I agree with mostly everyone that the race should've been completed today given the proper circumstances, but if there was a saving grace.... GRACES, it would be these two; Joseph Newgarden won back to back Indy 500 races, and Christopher Bell won his second race this year, oh and the Craftsman Truck Series race and the Xfinity Series race DID finish theirs. Like I said a mixed bag this weekend, but give Lawson credit for doing double duty, it just didn't go well for him..and the rain 🌧️, not the butler, was the culprit. Onwards to June...
It wasn't even close to "over." I get it if you call something early when someone goes flag-to-flag but this wasn't the case. Could've at least done it monday.
Why was Byron not penalized for that pass? He clearly had all four wheels underneath the line. Also: when or how often did weather affect both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 on the same day?
And what about the decision was incorrect? They’d hit halfway, started at the prescribed time, what about that is wrong? It’s a known fact that halfway makes a race official!
Remember it's either halfway or the end of the 2nd stage they can call the race if it rains to the point they couldn't resume the race. Which in this case was one and the same.
I can understand not running these types of tracks on wet tires but I checked on radar and the rain moved away with a lot of time to be able to dry the track and finish.
Epic Failure by NASCAR. Hello rain tires! Lightning makes a difference for sure. If there was lightning predicted, I understand. But just rain, they should still let them race.
Answer me this: The race is called before Kyle Larson got to turn a single lap and get credit for running the race. NASCAR does not have to grant him his eligibility waiver now since he never officially competed in the race, do they? I get a waiver for injury and missing a subsequent points race, or even a family tragedy causing a driver to miss a race. But he wanted to run a non-NASCAR race and pull the double. Rain delayed the start of Indy, and rain stopped this race before he could even get in his car. So, what does NASCAR do?
We get rid of that stupid roval and then only get half the race. . . It’s frustrating watching NASCAR nowadays. Adding more road courses and like Jr talked about, tracks like Richmond are probably going to lose a date to a road course. At least what we did get to see was entertaining.
Listen to PRN or MRN Nascar radio, they are actually intelligent and keep you updated on what is happening much better than the television commentators! Just Google PRN or MRN Nascar radio, the race is on one of those every week.

A total let down when NASCAR decided to make an early ending to the Coca-Cola 600. So what if it ended "in the early hours" of Monday morning it's a holiday! Most of the crowd would of come back. Terrible decision just a terrible decision.
Another failure by Nascar. They should have dried the track for an hour and put the rain tires on and raced! Sometimes they don't make sense! Ya maybe they wouldn't be able to run at full speed but that's what would make it a race seeing who can drive the car a little faster. Boo terrible finish especially after the worthless NBC station covering the Indy 500 in Madison Wisconsin here covers a storm for almost 2 hours then comes back to the race with 20 laps to go and as they're coming out of turn 4 the final lap cut to a Madison technical college commercial missing the finish! Hope Fox gets the coverage next year!
Only reason I’m not in that car is cause I’m white. So I should be the person super pissed off. But I’m not. Have a nice day. What goes around comes around. It’s just a matter of time.

Rain really ruined Larson's day on both ends huh
He ruined his own day with a predictable rookie mistake.
At least we had the Indy 500!
Allgaier ran good especially not having track time til race day. Ended up 13th.
And his main goal was probably to stay out of trouble and keep it in one piece. So to be 13th and not driving at 100% was a good showing
