I recently purchased an S18i from SWFA (USA/Texas). I haven't taken it to the range yet but I'm impressed with what I have seen so far. The image quality is very impressive. I went with the S18i because of the 110mm Eye Relief and illumination. An S24i (4-24x50 illuminated) similarly spec'd out (20+ MRADs; 110mm Eye Relief) would have been ideal - if it existed. The turrets are nice and audible as well. Capturing how audible and tactile the turrets are would help viewers, unfamiliar with the scope line or scope brand, in purchasing decisions. I've encountered some "mushy" turrets in the past. Thank you very much for your videos. They helped me choose my first FFP scope (Falcon S18i).

Medium bkl mounts worked just fine. One gripe I immediately found with the s18i is that the turrets aren't lock down which is a real shame. Push pull would have been better since they wouldn't accidentally adjust whilst in the gun bag.

Hi Sean, The spec and price on these scopes certainly comperes favourably against others, but do they have locking turrets, and is there a sidewheel available?

I do hesitate between the Falcon S18i and the Hawke sidewinder 4-16x50... Both are FFP, both have mil based reticles and turrets, both are illuminated... Witch one have the better glass?

The problem with Hawke is reliability : their customer service is poor, and heard of multiple people mentioning their scopes crapping out on them. The falcon's build quality is solid.

how do these handle the heavier recoil rifles e.g. 300winmag and does it have zero stop on the turret

Hi Mike Keen. Thanks for getting in touch.
As far as we are aware The s18i can stand that sort of recoil well. However it does not have a zero stop unfortunately.

Hello last night I ordered a Falcon S18i 3-18x50 FFP B24i MIL LINE Illuminated Rifle Scope from Optics warehouse. Just a quick question, would 30mm medium BKL mounts be ok to use with the Air Arms Mpr Ft? Or would high Bkl's be better?
    Many thanks
    Rich

Hi Rich, in our opinion the medium option would be preferable. Thanks.

Are these available in the U.S.? How about reviewing the glass at the highest magnification?lenses made in Japan or China?

Domingo Liao yes they should be available via SWFA. Yes I should be reviewing the scopes in the field soon so I will be sure to include these when I do. Lenses are Chinese.

Very little info on the web about these scopes, but I am intrigued. How would this compare to something like the athlon Argos or vortex diamondback?

I am currently trying to make my mind up between Hawke Airmax 30 mm FFP 4-16 x50 AMX IR ( like the c/w sunshade , side wheel , metal flip up lens covers & unfussy reticle ) and the Falcon S18i FFP 3-18 x 50 ( like the very reliable tracking &return to zero , deep 1 - 10 mil lower reticle stadia ) . Glass quality & resolution seems good on both. Have got older Sidewinder 6x24 which I have shot 1 inch c-c 100 yd 10 shot groups with ( .177 Daystate ) in completely dead air , so 1 MOA , so generally happy with Hawke but have heard about problems with after sales. I know little of Falcon company but the more research I do online the more it seems ( reading between the lines ) that they are quite respected and the quality punches well above weight for the price. Q , can you get a side wheel for the S 18 I ?
Anybody got any comments about the comparisons between these two scopes or experience in using either/both , I NEED GUIDANCE , HELP !!

Hello Tim, at the moment the Hawke will be the only option as the Falcon S18i is on an extended back order, the Hawke will perform very well and the warranty/ After sales is also very good from what we have found. Falcon are indeed a very respected company, there is rumours of a new model being released in the near future
      Kind Regards

How is the tracking and the clairity of the glass on 30 of the s30 scope? Been looking at getting one for long range shooting.

Travis H yes good for the money , nick at falcon tests all his optics on delivery for tracking and optical performance. We have also sold over 150 over the two models and have had no problems
