- Not all tuning is about going as fast as possible, sometimes you just want a nice fun drive.... four identical nice fun drives is an IROC class
Tyres used: Paul Gage PGT-21126XXD

Ah the king of direct down-to-earth slot car improvement strikes again! Thanks Dave 👍🏻👍🏻 Will be applying the knowledge to a bunch of Scaley Commodore VLs 🙌🏻
I used to love IROC racing!
Thank you Dave. You can really see and hear the difference in the car with each improvement you made. One change at a time is the way to go. Great post. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time.tomdonthis production. Many will benefit. From.this.. all apot.on. and it is nice to hear just that low whine as a car rips around. .
Great video Dave, showing that ALL cars no matter what brand can be improved 👍 👍👍👍👍
Very nice tutorial, you,ve taken it to the next level. With the plastic solvent.
awesome run through Dave, finished product ran nicer than the cars with magnets
finished product is actually a fraction slower with the lead in but more enjoyable and forgiving, but yes over all they all run smoother and quieter. I should probably put the magnet back in one now and see how far I can turn up the voltage and still keep full t rigger all the way round the lap LOL
Great structure and process here Dave. A great way to while away a spare half hour on an Easter Sunday. It otherwise goes to show that we don't need to spend shed loads to have great fun in the hobby.
If you think this is budget slot car racing, next week's video knocks this into a cocked hat 😁
I had no idea that's what iroc meant. Thanks for this Dave. Cheers
In Canada they were sold as Mercuries, maybe in the US also. My cousin had one with a V6 and it was a fun little car.
Nice work and your track is very flowing and racable too I like it!!
Great tutorial on a small tuning program for those homeset cars!!!!!!!
Hey Dave! Shared to slot car misfits of all scales on Facebook
Great video Dave. I did the same with 4 BMW 320's a while back.
Nice video Dave, I'll be doing some of that later 🤘🏻
I always learn from you.
People ask what do I get from doing a channel... it's not my job but this ^^ is the ultimate job satisfaction thank you
Great video Dave, nicely explained
What a good teacher! Informative, easy to follow and apply. Thank you.
What a great video Dave. I will need to buy a tire truer now...
Very Nicely done ✅
Very nice video!🏁
Dave. As usual, great video. I'm relatively new to the slot car world. Coming from model railroading. I love the information you keep presenting. It is extremely helpful. Keep up the great videos. Take care...
Great post Dave .hugely improved and fun cars now . I really must save up and buy a tyre truing machine for my Brms 🤔 Ive never bought an aftermarket tyre for a 132 car ....Yet ! 😊thanks for sharing mate 👍
I'd love one of those No3 Capri's, beautiful looking car, and it would be my first Carrera !!
Was 3rd wedding anniversary present from Mrs SlotR a couple of years ago
@@slotr There is one on Ebay right now, ain't paying fifty quid for it though!
@@SwiftSlots 70 for the green and white one with the 4 on it sir? LOL
@@slotrNah, I'm 4'ist 🤣
@@SwiftSlots 4s and flags with iffy histories LOL
Great video Dave! Looks like they’re going to make for some fun racing!
great job Dave! i am looking to bui;ld an IROC class... can't decide maybe Fly cars.
Nice video Dave. I need to look into a truer.
Save the research (although I know it can be at least half the fun 😅) and get the Swift Slots one 💪🏻
Great video Dave, thanks for posting. Where do you stand on body float?
Float is great but not for this tune up
He just invented Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift overnight once the magnets been removed 😅😅
Hello,
Great Tips and pointer's on essentially stock enhancements.
Also, I like your layout elevations.
What is your lane length? - And Table size please?
Best Regards,
Jack
Hiya, there is a pinned comment with the link to my layout on this video th-cam.com/video/gyif3mAORGk/w-d-xo.html
Great video brother. What speed and brake setting do you have it set through smart race app? I run Paul gage urethane. I’m actually starting to on the front tires as well. Just maybe will help to put more rubber on the track as well.
with the Truspeed controller I just throw the CU brake and throttle up to 100% and trim a bit off with the buttons on the controller
@@slotr what about the smart race app speed settings? The CU settings are not in play while using smart race. Or am I missing something……
smart race app is just a friendlier way of getting the CU to send the signals to the chips for brake and throttle :) It's doing the same thing as pressing all the buttons on the CU doing it manually
I have a question about the Hot Glue on the motor: I always assumed (maybe incorrectly) that those holes in the chassis were designed to help keep the motor cool. When you add the Hot Glue in those holes does that cause the motor to heat up more? And if it does, does it matter?
I think to be honest the slots are more about improving the effect of the motor magnet through the hard plastic, certainly not run a carrera car to the point it was hot enough to melt the glue and I'd say the glue would melt before the motor got hot enough to harm itself.
@@slotr Good point! I am going to give it a shot!
