Yes, that will be paper mache process. Paper, glue and others put compound like starch etc. Few videos you can watch for reference. It can be sticky and lots of drying time.
@@SetGozo thank you very much for anwering! What if i just used the paper clay that you are actually using WITHOUT firing it? So i mean NOT the paper mache Clay but the paper clay that has clay AND paper in it? Could i just let it dry and NOT fire it? Because it is quite stable as far as i understand in its leader hard form and is less prone to break than normal clay even unfired. What do you think?
My experience is actual paper only mixing it with plaster of Paris or glue. But for sure mixing with clay might be ok too. Pick what ever last longer. I am assuming you will paint it anyway with acrylic paint or what ever paint works. Good luck.
It actually finished as a sculpture of a winning piece 2021 Summer in Chicago called “Angel with Broken Wings” . With paper clay ceramics, the flexibility of clay you can transform your piece at bone dry piece. I also have a video working on the Angel.
The newspaper is wrapped in a hard object that needs to be remove before firing. It will be cut open in half and reconnect by coiled clay ( slip and scoring technique).Clay is the only thing allowed in the kiln, no news paper. The clay I am using is called paper clay because it is clay plus paper mixed in by blender. They are stronger and lighter for sculpting. I have a video on how to make paper clay. I used paper clay 182 stoneware white clay from local store in chicago. We fire cone 6 electric kiln for glaze and 011 for bisque. You can make paper clay of any clay you wants add 25% toilet paper shredded. Watch my video on how to make paper clay. They are lighter and easy to work on. I suggest small batch to try first. Yes stoneware paper clay at Cone 6 electric kiln is what we use for firing.

It’s a a base for my Sculpture. Paper ceramic clay you can manipulate even bone dry with flexibility.

It actually gave me freedom to sculpt and not afraid of explosion or breaking. They still do break and explode but more forgiving
