Wait a Moment. Who's That Coming Down The Line? It's Salty the dockside diesel. Salty loves to tell stories. He has a tale for every occasion. Salty doesn't like to be away from the docks and will hurry back to be beside the sea. Oh, Dear! He may not be as shiny as James or as fast as Spencer, but Salty has a great big heart And will always come to the aid of any engine whether it's a steamie or fellow diesels. That's Why He's A Really Useful Engine.
sometimes due to shipping, the way they are stored or some other reason engines don't start sometimes right away, this also happened with Talking Gordon even after changing the batteries he was not wanting to start for the first time. The talking engines sit in the box with their wheels tied down and people press the button and this would normally make the engine move but in these cases it seems to seize it up a bit.
Thanks!! yes I would recommend them because they do what they are designed to do very well although they may not work in some sets as you see in the video.
I'm not sure which set they came in originally but I got them in my first big ebay lot that I bought that got me started on this hobby hehe, also in the lot was 2 red express coaches a fat controller figure about 5 engines and about 10 trucks with loads including fish, trees, barrels and fruit, heaps of track with points and some scenery items.
Yes I am making a new video tomorrow showing my new plarail D51 with light unbox review and first run and I will also do a test on it with mr. motorman, thanks for watching!!
Good review, I don't have Salty and i think soon i need to get one. Would you recomend the talking engines? I want to buy the new Talking Victor's Big Splash, he speaks english and spanish! Its a shame that Salty doesn't work on the water tower and turntable.
im wondering if its the cables that cause some of them to not work fresh out of the box? i had 2 that i had to return to the store, a salty and a james. they are $35NZD here, so i decided i wasnt going to pay that and then have to repair it before it even got played with. thankfully, they seem to have remedied that with fiery flynn. they have holes in the wheels and are tied in with twine through the holes rather than around the axles. hopefully no more broken engines.

The load in the truck is the same as Talking Victor's Big Splash only a different color.

yes they do get annoying after a while (a short while lol) I have to say I rarely run them after the novelty has worn off.

Hopefully they have fixed the problems, shame when expensive engines like these need some fiddling to get working.
