    Hope someone can answer this.
    We bought a 2009 freightliner m2 and is asking me for regeneration but it doesn't come with def tank to refuel. Does it need def?

    • @TheCraftyTrucker
      @TheCraftyTrucker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Def did not come in trucks prior to 2010/11. Trucks between 2007-2010 only had a dpf filter, no def. my understanding is they used a 7th fuel injector for diesel to do regens.

      @@TheCraftyTrucker thanks bro I didn't know that. Driving for 20 years. I never like new trucks. My favorite truck is the 99 freightliner classic and cabovers

    Quick question. Would a dirty filter cause the def or inside the tank to get tainted, then throw a fault code 3364 fail 2?

  • @GigMyRig

    Nice thorough explanation and execution. Very much appreciated! Thank you.
    On a darker, side note, I had a friend that had half the amount of dried DEF that
    you had on your forearm and, well, he's no longer with us.
    He moved out of state and got hired at another trucking company. (Sigh) Sad.

    Diesel Exhaust Fluid/AdBlue is non-toxic and non-flammable so you won't die, Jason! You just gotta wash up properly, as you said!

      About right on mileage, yearly when you have the federal done is a better reminder. Ryder truck where I work does it by mileage.

    6:06 first you want to put the rubber Frost membrane on them to cap making sure the rubber is protecting the filter from Frost & seated at the top & sealed then put the lubed cap on.

    $120 for a filter that is smaller than the oil filter on my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan. Poverty at the hands of the u.s. gov't. A fuel filter would be cheaper to use.

    That's a lot of miles for a filter last

    • @TheCraftyTrucker
      @TheCraftyTrucker  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cougar Tpt my thought also. Maybe because the def normally does not get a bunch of gunk in it like diesel does.

    Good educational video. Maybe a good idea to write the mileage and date on the new filter housing for reference.
    (My father in law taught me that trick.)
    p.s. You guys rock. Love your channel.
