    Bud was really shook up by the Samauri demonstration. Barbara McIntyre was 25 at the time and is still with us at age 88 as of this post (2/20/23). Per Wikipedia, she won the US Amateur in 1959, the British Amateur in 1960 and was on 5 winning Curtis Cup teams and the captain of another.

    Winged Foot is indeed when set up for a major tournament a test even for the professionals. They have to struggle to break par. I caddied there one time but caddied in the summer between school years at Westchester Country club and even got into the Westchester Classic a few times. That was an easy course for the pros. That Sergeant was someone you did not want to mess with.

    I paused it at 10:15 and believe the guy is bleeding, which you see just as he removes the little carrot piece. Crazy!

    The Savannah was a nice looking ship, beautiful line and all.

    When the men in game #3 were standing and introduced themselves, I thought #2 had weird hair, but it was just a shadow on his head.

    Sometimes I highly question these contestants. Judo was developed in 1882 so not even a hundred years at the time of this taping.

    How a black belt could say judo was 3000 years old is beyond me!!??

    They wouldnt allow anyone to demonstrate the samurai sword like that these days! That sergeant must have a lot of trust!

    I knew contestant #1 in the first game was an imposter - his pant legs were not even. No one in the service would allow this.

    I'd love to know where that cameraman who cut away right when the guy sliced through that carrot went to file for unemployment the very next day.

    Tom Poston asks the most obscure questions.

    • @rmelin13231
      @rmelin13231 ปีที่แล้ว

      He does, but I take that as a sign of trying to determine who is the correct guest. I'm sure the guests are well prepared in advance for the obvious questions, so Tom goes for the non-obvious. That's my take only. I find Tom to be the smartest panelist, generally. (Even though Kitty usually thinks she is).

    Irony: Polly Bergen became a Judo Expert later in life and was to use it in a pilot called Selena Mead, which never aired.

    For the samurai one, one spelled the word wrong and three stated the wrong origin of the word. Easy to figure out.

    Second round affidavit @ 11:40: "...most of the excitement in my life lies in another field. I play golf." That's what she calls "excitement"? Watching paint dry is more exciting than golf. LOL
