  • Penelope Crawford’s Instrument Collection - Ann Arbor, MI. Recorded December 19, 2022.
Video made in honor of Lucinda and John Cochrane (NJ). He was my 6th grade social studies teacher who has become one of my most supportive friends. He has traveled by car and plane to hear me perform all over, solo and with orchestra. We have now kept in contact for about 15 years. Thank you and here’s to many more memories.

Thank you for sharing the collection. Penny has played a big part in preservation and appreciation of these unique instruments, as well as their future history.

Many thanks for making this video. I saw her collection many years ago.....due to a piano teachers meeting held there. So impressed with the instruments! But, it is hard to keep these instruments in great condition: humidity, temperature controls, consistent tuning, etc.

Thank you for the video! Do you know if the Paul McNulty is still available for sale?

The Graf here is the same one, I believe, as Crawford used in her chamber and late Beethoven Sonata recordings up on @bartje bartmans channel. It's the best-sounding Graf that I've heard, next to an 1827 specimen from Christopher Clarke's collection that Staier uses in some of his recordings.

It is the same Graf! It is absolutely beautiful. Stunning.

Will she retire from her performance/teaching? But lovely to hear that she will bring Conrad Graf to the retirement home!
