Sport owes jonny moseley a ton. Without his gold medal corkscrew with mute grab we might still be watching guys do triple daffys all day. He was robbed in 02 when he pulled off the 720 dinner role. Nobody was doing that stuff and inverted tricks were still illegal. Judges punished him for trying something they were unfamiliar with that skirted the edge of legality. Thankyou jonny

I kinda liked it better in the 90's, when there were actual turns.... it was just more elegant. Now they bash over the top going 200mph. I dunno.
The skiing was better then but the jumping was not. Though you could make the argument that flipping has grown stale cuz everybody can do it. However id rather watch twenty guys in row doing backflips than 20 doing daffys or spread eagles as if those "tricks" are at all difficult or take someone courageous to pull them off... jonny moseley gave us modern day bumps and jumps tricks and jean luc Broussard gave us the straight down the hill style of mogul skiing you dont care for. Its way harder imo to do what he was doing though. You have to put serious strain on your knees and hips to absorb the bumps without getting thrown off balance or off your line. He sucked in the air though...jonny moseley really was the best ever imo. Had similiar style to jean luc through the bumps but a style very much his own in the air. Without him the inverted tricks wouldnt have become mainstream and legal in competition. His 98 gold medal run was mesmerizing. And he was robbed in 02 cuz judges just didnt get the "dinner roll" move moseley had become known for and it was too close to being inverted so they took the gold from him. But nowadays a 720 dinner roll is tame. Thankyou jonny. Maybe theyll actually start recognizing grabs too. (Little known fact is his 98 run with the corkscrew mute grab was almost deemed illegal and he disqualified from the podium because of the grab. Instead they ignored it completely and despite the revolutionary change that followed ushering in inverted tricks, they still ignore them. grabs are still not scored and are done by competitors for style alone. Lets hope that changes. The entire sport of snowboardingis centered around grabs and stolen from skateboarding. I think they look way cooler when donee on skis)
