" We're all just playing on our smartphones, popping little texts back and forth and saying nothing at all. What the album title means to me is: come on guys, we should struggle to interrupt that. We should what pitilessly censor ourselves ? I'm sure I sound like the most ineffectual type of clown who's just as complicit with that world as anybody else, if not more so. But the idea is that no art stands a chance unless we struggle, unless we make some kind of effort to think."
The combination of this song and the MDE sketch may have literally saved my life. I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'll come back in 10 years and let you guys know.

Music is amazing isn’t it. I’m watching Russian Doll for the first time. I hear this song and I’m like wow !! What’s that ? Sounds amazing. Shazam…I’m listening to the song in more depth to hear he’s saying “let’s kill the cops to tonight”…then I think to my self..that’s quite a wild thing to say on a track🤔….then I go down a rabbit hole of research behind the track to realize it’s a metaphor against police brutality. George bush was on of many political people who was against this track at the time. Ice T backed this record saying it’s more of a protest record. Which I agree. Especially after seeing this video for the first time. Music will always be an extraordinary piece of art. I think what I like most about this track is the 80s sound. There’s just something about the 80s. The only artists I know of in this day and age doing this kind of sound is Casisdead. Listen to his song Park assist, pat earings, boys will be boys and Before this. Mariah the scientist also has a song called All for me. Argh that 80s sci fi sound. Undefeated.
GoodBuddyD so the movie blows, figures kind of reminds me of how in the hip hop community movies are made and they always suck take for instance State Property by Dame Dash I think he produced the movie but it sucks it's saturated in awkward dialogue and gaudy cinematography.
Same here. The song's not actually about killing 'cops' or killing anyone, it's about killing that mindset or status quo that controls people. There's more info in the description if you're interested.
