Nicola is amazing. She is beautiful and her voice is incredible. She was so underated in Girls Aloud. She easily had the best voice. People can whine and complain and try to argue that Nadine was the best but I personally don't agree. Nadine is good but her voice is very one note and repetitive. Nicola's voice is unique and powerful and you never know what to expect. Nicola is incredible and you cannot deny her passion for music 🎶

Nicola became a better singer as time went on. But I think Nicola's voice is a bit too shrilly. Nadine had a great range. That's why i think so many people prefer her voice. Even Brian Higgins gave her more lines when it came to singing the song.
I think Nicola was mainly 'shrill' during this period - mostly the solo album and some GA before and after - but she isn't ONLY that. She recently said she wishes she'd done different vocals back then.Honestly, I like it all. Nadine is reliable, but Nicola brings the spark to me.
Well I think that Nadine is really a good singer, but she gives the impression to be cold and distant, while Nicola does non only sing, she communicate with you and that's make her a great singer. She just have to release something more

This goddess deserves to be a worldwide phenomenon. This video should have a bazillion views and her album should sell millions of copies.
Wow! I'm form Finland and I love this lady! This song is also great, as well as the rest on her album. It felt like ages until her album came out outside the UK, and then I bought it right away. It's fantastic! Unique and experimental music which makes it a brave. And the lyrics are heartfelt and her own, which makes the album true to herself. She didn't do the generic stuff what everyone else does when they go solo, she decided to stand out, and that's what I respect in an artist.

As a 14 yr old boy growing up I was introduced to Girls Aloud back in 2002 which led to some of the best and amazing days in my teenage days going to school and coming home to play on my PS2 and easily Nicola Roberts was and still is my no 1 idol.I couldn't care less for Cheryl's solo career and as for Nadine and Kimberly's solo careers I never listened to them.Nicola is the only one that I had listened to and she didn't disappoint.This whole album just suits her perfectly.
Everytime I think of Nicola I always think of Alice in Wonderland for some reason.

New fan here, I’m a US mixer and since Jade from Little Mix mentioned Girls Aloud a few times I thought I’d check them out. I hadn’t heard of them prior to that *thanks a lot US music industry* but when I did check out their music I felt myself only connecting to Nicola, I tried a lot to connect to them all but just couldn’t for some reason. I’m sure they’re all very kind and talented. But yeah she completely shines and I hope she puts more solo music out soon, I’ll be here for it!

A very good album, it did actually make the top 20 too, which is hardly a fail!
+Guy Petersen It was a great album and the critics loved it, but commercially it was a flop. It debuted at number 17 but after the first week it dropped swiftly out of the top 20. None of its 3 singles cracked the top 20: The first single, "beat my drum," was number 27, "lucky day" was number 40, and this song ( Yo-Yo) didn't crack the top 100; it peaked at number 111, which is awful.
***** Awh shucks! Robert Smith of The Cure said it best I think "Any single that makes the top 10 is garbage!" :-)
Of course it tanked, Nicola Roberts is a singer, not a songwriter. Songs about feeling like a yo-yo I would expect from a 12-year old who has never written songs before or read good literature.
Whether or not some of her lyrics are perceived to be naive or childish by the self appointed intellectual crowd, be it music press critics or TH-cam critics (with regard to one or two tunes such as this on a pretty unique sounding debut album by 2011's questionable standards of the time for general originality in mainstream pop), then even so I think it's a safe bet to say she's the only ex member of GA who's been brave enough to go it alone as far as penning most of her own songs was concerned on Cinderella's Eyes....only Cheryl has had more commercial success with her album releases I'd say and I'd imagine that she had much more of a helping hand with production, not to mention songwriting! While Cinderella's Eyes in likely to be Nicola's only solo album release it certainly pleased a lot of people and still sounds decent as now, six years later.....
Talent + Brain + BEAUTY = Nicola Roberts!
