What's old is new. Who'd have thought that tracker action could advance so much to create this beauty? Marvelous organ! This video was a joy to watch!

Bravo, Brent & Bill! Congratulations to the good people of Juget-Sinclair, and the parish of Christ the King - Wauwatosa for the vision of commissioning such an outstanding instrument.

Having played this wonderful and fine instrument in the French style, I have to say that Christ King chose a very fine instrument for this wonderful parish in Wauwatosa. I was at a workshop and dedication recital to hear this great instrument. This past May, I presented a concert of my own compositions and French works that represent this instrument very well. I was a member of this parish many years ago and grew up in the neighborhood not too far from Christ King. Bill Lieven has done a wonderful job demonstrating this organ and thanks to Organ Media Foundation, Juget-Sinclair will get some wonderful exposure. The people who own Juget-Sinclair and work there are very delightful people who fine work. Keep up the great work you do, Organ Media Foundation.

What an incredible and versatile French symphonic style instrument with a great demonstration to showcase all the sounds it can produce!

Thank you Brent and Bill for this wonderful demonstration. Like the other Juget-Sinclair organ you featured a while back, this one certainly shows thoughtful and creative ingenuity in design and tonal features. The swell box action is amazing.

Congratulations, Bill, from your college classmate Dale Niehaus. What a beautiful organ. Loved this video!

Besides being a fantastic instrument and especially having all those wonderful reeds, I commend Juget-Sinclair for doing what they also did at St. Mark's, St. Louis, which is to put all the action under the choir loft floor on one level without any steps for people to fall over. I don't know any other organ builders who take the trouble to do this.

The freeze/ventil control is pretty cool. Eager to hear this instrument in person soon!

Thanks Brent and Bill! For those who are curious to learn even more, we did a little interior tour video last year, before heading back to Canada, that goes into a little more detail. th-cam.com/video/jFAQFkA03sk/w-d-xo.html

Wonderful instrument! Also, this video should be subtitled "Tonal tour of 'Lasst uns erfreuen'" 🤣🤣

    Very "Feanck" with that Bassoon-Hautbois

You would think that with 53 ranks, a 3rd manual would be necessary.

Hi Thomas, Alex here from J-S. It's hard to tell from the video tour just how tight the space is in the chamber here. Unfortunately, the geometry of the chamber didn't lend itself nicely to another pair of windchests (let alone expressive box) and bellows, so had a 3rd manual division been added, it would have dramatically taken away from space available for pipework. Both we and the church felt that a 2-manual/41-stop organ would be much more satisfying and flexible than a 3-manual/32-stop organ. However, we've got three 3-manual organs coming up next, so stay tuned!

@@alexross_organ I see, I was just curious to know why an organ this big would only have 2 manuals, since it apparently has close to 3000 pipes. However, it makes sense when space was limited in the case. It is amazing that your company was able to make such an impressive 2-manual organ.

I find it useful to hear the same melody played on every stop, so I can easily compare their tone colors within that certain range of notes.

What makes an organ French sounding ?

    • @PM_ME_MESSIAEN_PICS
      @PM_ME_MESSIAEN_PICS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

nice stable flutes and principals, not so many mixtures as compared to the german baroque kind, brilliant reeds sometimes including deep bass reeds, specialty stops such as the flute harmonique or the bassoon-hautbois

Also having a trumpet, clarion, and cornet in every division (although some organs from other cultures have this feature too).

Beautiful organ, but hearing the same couple bars of the same tune over and over is torture.

Oh my goodness I already hated Lasst uns erfreuen but the repetitiveness made me want to tear my ears off 💀 is there not like hundreds of hymn tunes to choose from??
