Thanks for sharing your AGA with us. I also have an electric dual control (my first AGA) and I love it. Living in the US they are an uncommon choice, but it is the best "crazy" purchase I ever made. Hesitant to give tips to a pro like you, but I really try to cook without turning on the hotplates, both to save electricity since the ovens are already on, and to minimize clean up. My best "tricks" ---eggs in their shells right on the floor of the simmering oven, 20ish minutes for sot boiled, about 50 minutes for hard boiled, toast cooked directly on the floor of the roasting oven, fried eggs, toasted sandwiches and quesadillas cooked on bacoglide on the floor of the roasting oven, pasta cooked in cold water on the floor of the roasting oven, and most casseroles I both "fry" up the veg and meat and bring it to the boil on the floor of the roasting oven and then move to the simmering oven.
I love my Aga too !! Had to wait until I was 50+ to eventually get one but I adore cooking on it, is so effortless and nothing beats it after a day out in the cold plus in addition to all its other uses it is a brilliant pizza oven when it’s too cold to use the Ooni outside 🤣 Thank you for sharing 😘😘
I’ve been so excited for your kitchen tour and AGA review. I renovated at the same time you have and I feel like we went through the journey together. The ups and the downs! Even though we’re literally a world apart as I live in Australia. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. I really appreciate it. Just thought I would add that you can use the floors of new AGA’s. I have a new ER7-100. You just have to use a grid on the floor then you can put your pan on that, as the floor elements are very hot compared to older models. And I believe you don’t need the grid with new on-all-the-time models but you’d have to double-check that one. I’m going to check out your course as I still have so much to learn 🥰 Cheers, Ash x
Charlie well done for the brilliant demo. I think it maybe really good to mention just how many pans you can get on one hob. People think that 2 hobs means 2 pans, I can get 3 good size pans on one hob, I have the AgaE3. Another thing is that the electric Agas don't need servicing. Thank you again Charlie.
Hi Charlie . Thanks for the demonstration on your electric Aga. I have an oil fired Aga and I love it. It's awake 24/7 and my husband services it twice a year . The running costs per week are similar to your Aga . We save quite a bit on electric as we don't need a kettle , toaster etc. Do you ever use the simmer plate for toast using Bac-o-glide sheets?
Thank you Charlie,That was super useful, I have a old Aga Solid fuel which I am unable tu get Antaracite for I am in southern Ireland. I WILL CONACT AGA EXCHANGE re Irish reps for advice re conversion tu oil or a reconditioned electric many thanks.i love so much my old Aga and miss it so much in a country farmhouse where its the heart of the kitchen.many thanks
Thank you Charlie. Did you consider other models when you got your new Aga. We are thinking about getting an Everhot as I have heard they are very efficient but I have no direct experience of either.
My friends think I’m mad because I constantly rave about my Aga , which is an original cream one from we think was first used in 1950’s been converted to gas and costs us about £20 per week , a lot of people don’t know how to use them properly including my Husband won’t be told drives me mad even sent him to Aga course which they used to run at the Aga shops , to no avail . Now hate using an ordinary cookers if on holidays . So advise any newby Aga owners to your course .

I’d love an Aga or Everhot, but I’m blowed paying for energy when it should be much cheaper
Good to learn about the benefits of Agas, doesn't the kitchen make the laundry smell?
