My Grand farther delivered milk for bordens dairy in NYC ... horse and wagon great to see these photos ,,,
My dad remembers the ice wagons in the 1930's and of course I remember the the milkman delivering butter and milk to our front door in the 60's
I remember the milk being delivered on the porch, and it seems like there was this foil and cardboard type top that was crimped over the top of the bottle I remember removing the top and the bottle was cool
I have a 30 year service pin from Borden’s
This definitely looks up the northside. I was thinking Andersonville because of the Bowman, like nearby "Bowmanville," but I'm wondering if the address on the carriage relates to its delivery zone: 1834--44. If so, it would be Roger's Park. 1834 West Columbia Ave is near the modern intersection of Pratt and Ridge, and not too far from Western and Indian Boundary Park. Or maybe that's the address of the company. The combination of houses and apartment buildings are consistent with this part of the Northside of Chicago.
Time flies
AT&T lady brought me here
"Just try to behave naturally, as if the camera isn't there".
FAIL! LOL!
"Okay, just act like brainless goofy kids then!"
Awesome. I tweeted it to President Biden so he'd feel all warm and happy, like being a kid again. Dianne Feinstein as well. They all remember the milk wagons and the ice man.
BTW, I really tweeted it to them, but I was being satirical. I am not a Democrat.
