Today we expand the USFL to 32 teams, create names and uniforms for each one, and affiliate them all with an NFL team. Please be sure to like and subscribe!
My USFL w/old WLAF teams and mergers of teams. I play this league on my copy of all pro football 2k8. The best game still in the business. A 16 yr old game puts new Madden to shame still. USFL. Atlantic Philadelphia Stars (darker yellow-gold I hated the bright yellow of the newer version. The old USFL version was far superior) New Jersey Generals(pretty much the same except I use gold embellishments slightly) New York Knights(black gold silver and slate) DC Federals (1984 version) Hartford Americans(WLAF Glory rebranded) Pittsburgh Maulers( use colors of WLAF Montreal Machine. Another team gets the purple and orange later on) Virginia Firebirds(old Albany Firebirds arenaball team their early nineties look, black silver orange and hints of oilers baby blue) Boston Gladiators( old arenaball team colors Green Gold w/ Red accents it works well) Central Chicago Cougars( USFL BlitZ, 1983 version kept same can’t beat perfection) Detroit Predators(USFL Panthers. I love your Columbia Blue numbers on the road and I’ve embraced it after Many years of the plum color w/Columbia outline) Omaha Comets(WLAF Galaxy, they get the Purple n Orange) Louisville Monarchs(WLAF London Monarchs ,kept same Colors changed gold to slightly mustard. Looks so regal!) Columbus Bulldogs(looks like Chicago Bruisers old arena ball team) St Louis Sparrows(Sacramento Gold Miners copycat with Teal Navy Blue and Gold) Memphis Showboats(dressed like DC Defenders hot pink instead of Red) Milwaukee Mustangs(old arena ball team. Violet Teal and Black. Great look they had) Southern Birmingham Stallions(changed this to reflect the 3 big universities in Alabama. Crimson for Alabama. Accents of Auburn navy and the UAB gold. Navy facemask instead of red and it gets away from the 49ers look effectively) Tampa Bay Bandits(same can’t beat perfection 40yrs later) Orlando Renegades(merger of old USFL team Colors w/ WLAF Thunder bright green and yellow) Raleigh Skyhawks(old WLAF team same colors except red veer’s towards hot pink) Charlotte Cobras(old arenaball team) New Orleans Cyclones(old USFL Breakers) Jacksonville Bulls(same Colors w/more Emphasis on black. Black facemask) Atlanta Flames(old WLAF Fire. Same Colors perfection still 30 plus years on ) Midwest Austin Ryders(old WLAF SA Riders colors) Houston Gamblers(I use same colors with yellow accents) Dallas Desperados(old arenaball team) Salt Lake Owls(patterned like AAF Stallions same Colors) Oklahoma Rustlers(old USFL Outlaws w/ Orangish Gold accents) San Antonio Gunslingers(perfection 40 years later kept same) Denver Navigators(USFL Denver Gold, using your Salt Lake Swallows Colors idea. Thanks for the inspiration!) Albuquerque Rattlesnakes(arenaball team dressed how they were in early Nineties) Pacific Arizona Wranglers(kept the same you can’t beat perfection. That uniform 40 years later is still #1 in my book) LA Legends(old USFL Express Colors) Honolulu Dragons(old WLAF Barcelona Dragons w/light blue accents to represent the old look of Hawaii U 🌈 ) Portland Beasts(old arenaball Sabercats colors) Seattle Marauders(old arenaball Avengers colors) Oakland Demons(old USFL Invaders colors ) San Diego Pharoahs(old Amsterdam admirals colors) Las Vegas Rollers(old XFL Outlaws colors)
The name UFL leagues better than USFL, in fact XFL was a better name than USFL. I kinda like Liberty conference name, Bravery gets a solid rejection from me though. Many of the team names/mascots/location/color schemes would have to be workshopped. I found alot of the city/affiliated NFL team to be head-scratchers, along with about half the team names/mascots. Alot of the color schemes and uniform designs are actually solid, only a few I would tweek or rework. I actually liked alot of the XFL uniforms, I thought there was several that were better than NFL uniforms, in fact alot of NFL uniforms need to be updated. I liked alot of the USFL uniforms too though. So that's my thoughts/opinions, I know they're worth less than 2 cents, but yea I like general line of thinking you have and I'm not totally sure how I even came across your channel or this video...I def agree that the UFL needs to expand, but they need to establish first. If they expand too fast it could fail, as so many spring football leagues have and ultimately nobody wants that.
Charleston was the city we had in mind for them, but it would honestly depend on how big the expected market is. If Laidley couldn't hold enough people (which for at least the first few years, it probably could), then I'd anticipate them being in Morgantown
I like the idea, but I could imagine the costs for each NFL team running effectively double their roster could be an issue. I'd set it up a bit different. Conferences would be Liberty & Independence with these teams and NFL affiliate: Liberty Conference (LC) LC West: Anaheim Wizards; LAR Sacramento Condors; SF Portland Loggers; SEA Arizona Hotshots; ARI LC North: Chicago Cyclones; CHI Milwaukee Hogs; GB Michigan Panthers; DET Columbus Aviators; CIN LC East: NY Guardians (2020 look); NYG Philadelphia Stars; PHI DC Defenders; WAS Raleigh Skyhawks; CAR LC South: Atlanta Firebirds; ATL Birmingham Stallions; TB New Orleans Breakers; NO Dallas Renegades; DAL Independence Conference (IC): IC West: San Diego Tomcats; LAC Denver Gold; DEN Salt Lake City Pioneers; KC Oakland Invaders; LV IC North: Canton Bulldogs; CLE St. Louis Battlehawks; IND Omaha Nighthawks; MIN Pittsburgh Maulers; PIT IC East: NJ Generals; NYJ Norfolk Admirals; BAL Connecticut Seawolves; BUF Boston Minutemen; NE IC South: Orlando Apollos; MIA San Antonio Brahmas; HOU Memphis Showboats; TEN Columbia Whitetails; JAX
Yeah, there would definitely be a lot of logistical issues to figure out for this, and a lot of places that we did definitely wouldn't work in reality, but we kinda wanted to play with the idea of giving metros that don't really have anything local their own team and identity. I was a fun exercise for sure.
Being from Salt Lake City the Swallows don't fit at all, hate to burst your bubble. I know the S.S. alliteration is what you are going for but we had a minor league hockey team years ago the Salt Lake Golden Eagles it had a nice ring to it, in addition we do have an abundance of bald Eagles here! Had to give my two cents. I do enjoy the exercise though, fun stuff to think about right?!
I mean fair enough. To each their own. I personally like the way it sounds. I went with Swallows because yes the alliteration, but also because swallows are actually pretty common to the Great Salt Lake and surrounding areas. The exercise is a lot of fun though.

For the sake of exercise, even if realistically impractical, we wanted to avoid putting teams in places where there was already an NFL team if possible and LA having 2 teams already meant that they didn't get much consideration.
@@therottweilerpatriots1959 Are you saying for the USFL to have 2 LA Teams? Then they still wouldn't use the LA Wildcats because they are an XFL team. The USFL would just create a new team instead
No, I'm saying that they have 2 NFL teams already (although if we had it our way, the Rams would be in St. Louis) and because of that they weren't really considered for this exercise.
@@therottweilerpatriots1959 ok but the question was asked why no LA Wildcats? There is no way to have a football league and 100% avoid a city with an NFL team in it. The USFL/XFL/UFL does has its fair share of non NFL cities already

There's no team in Chicago, their affiliate is OKC, which is are farther away from each other than GB and MIN's affiliates. There's a saying that goes, "we are our own worst critics". You seem to have no problem with that

The WV Miners can play at Laidley Field in Charleston

How about a franchise in Milwaukee so we continue to own the Minnesota Franchise.

Yeah, figuring out conferences and pairing took quite a while. The exercise as a whole was a lot of fun though, especially the uniform designs.
How come no LA Express, or LA Wildcats for both LA Franchises?
LA Wildcats are an XFL team so they wouldn't be in the USFL
For the sake of exercise, even if realistically impractical, we wanted to avoid putting teams in places where there was already an NFL team if possible and LA having 2 teams already meant that they didn't get much consideration.
