Mega Man 7, known as Rockman 7: Shukumei no Taiketsu! (Japanese: ロックマン7 宿命の対決! Hepburn: Rokkuman Sebun Shukumei no Taiketsu!?, lit. "Rockman 7: Showdown of Destiny!") in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the seventh game in the original Mega Man series and the first and only title in the main series to be featured on the 16-bit console. The video game was first released in Japan on March 24, 1995 and was localized later in the year in North America and Europe. The game is also available for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Xbox as part of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Picking up directly after the events of Mega Man 6, the plot involves the protagonist Mega Man once again attempting to stop the evil Dr. Wily, who uses a new set of Robot Masters to free himself from captivity and begin wreaking havoc on the world. Along with some help from his old friends, Mega Man finds potential allies in the mysterious robot pair Bass and Treble, who are later revealed to be in league with Wily. In terms of gameplay, Mega Man 7 follows that same classic action and platforming introduced in the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) titles, but updates the graphics and sound of the series for the more powerful SNES. According to its creators, Mega Man 7 was only in development for a short time before its release. Keiji Inafune, a noted character designer and illustrator for the franchise, handed off his duties to Hayato Kaji for this installment. Mega Man 7 has received an overall average critical reception. Although many considered it a competent game by itself, a majority of reviewers either called it a simple rehash of previous entries in the Mega Man saga, or considered it inferior to the inventive spin-off Mega Man X, released on the SNES over a year earlier. This song really captures the feeling of Mega Man finally having enough of Wily's shit and storming into his castle to end it once and for all. That's why I loved Mega Man 7; it's much darker than the others and Wily is not pulling any punches with his acts of terrorism, and Mega Man resorting to breaking the first law of robotics just to finally ensure world peace.

You can feel his wrath in his boss fight, he's totally crazy and really willing to kill Megaman.

This song is almost like tragedy blues to me. But I still dig it, even though it does have that sad, depressed, distraught feels in the vibes and all, you know.
Mega Man has had enough... He now feels betrayed by two robots who he thought were his new friends... and what is even worse is that Wily was behind the attempt on Dr. Light's life the entire time. If Mega Man wants to ensure peace now, he has to break the first law of robotics...
And murder the man he had fought for years!
Megaman killing Wily there would not be Zero and X-timeline, if I'm correct. As Zero was Wily's ultimate creation. Zero ended up saving the world and became legendary, but was also a threat, a ticking time bomb. A reason why X was made for the future to cover such events. It could have all ended here, but the future was nonetheless unclear, so sad, and the theme captures it all. Bittersweet.

MegaMan 7 is considered one of the weaker games in the series. It is infact, one of my favorites, I love the level design, the music, the extra large and chunky sprites. Thank you for making the best track in the game even more epic!

My first time actually being able to play this game was when I got the 2nd Legacy Collection, on the Switch. Overall, I like the soundtrack/themes it provides, and the structure of the game & its secrets. But by the time you encounter Wily & get to the 2nd phase of the fight: That's where the "Fair Challenge Portion" of the game takes an ungodly, yet LUCK BASED difficulty spike, Where beating Wily is dependent on both where he spawns in, and the split second orbs he emits. 😩
This is coming from a person that has played the GBA Megaman & Bass, & Wily's 2nd phase in that game was frustrating, sure...but his attacks were nowhere NEAR as painful as the blue & red elemental orbs in MM7.
That probly explains why Megaman wanted to kill him *shrug
I'd argue it wasn't that hard. Wily gives a tell tale sign when he's about to attack, being his laugh. Once he stops laughing, jump to bait and then slide under.
