…and yes, Tom Cruise is REALLY CLIMBING the building. There is no green screen. No CGI. He climbs it and then runs down it and swings on the rope. There is some amazing behind the scenes footage. This is when Mission Impossible really became a global super franchise because the world realized that Cruise performs all his own stunts for real!!! 👍
He did it with the help of the Galactic OverLord XENU, bruh!!!!

My point is that we live in a world where CGI dominates movies and most people just assume that it’s special effects and it’s nothing special when in reality what we are watching is something extremely special.

Ghost Protocol is like the start of a newer Mission Impossible trilogy. Gadgets malfunction like ALL the time and the characters have to rely on their wit and each other to complete missions, the actions scene are INSANE - and I'm all for it! 🤣

Yes. Yes he did. He did parts of it on sections of the building that were only 80 feet off the ground, and on other parts there are ropes and cables that were painted out in post production. But yes. Tom Cruise climbed up the side of the tallest building in the world.
One of my favorite Tom Cruise stories comes from Matt Damon who had dinner with Tom and asked him about the stunt. Tom talked about how he’d been dreaming of this stunt for fifteen years and explained it to the safety guy on the film, who said, “you can’t do that. It’s too dangerous.”
According to Matt Damon, when Tom told him this story, Tom then said, “So we got another safety guy,” which is the most Tom Cruise thing anyone has ever said.

It is crazy and RARE that a franchise gets BETTER. It's usually the opposite (i.e. Terminator, Aliens, etc.) where the best films are always the first.

Magnolia and Eyes wide shut also.
Edge of Tomorrow is probably his best film. American Made is definitely missing a few things.

Honestly. In my opinion. This is one of the very few sagas that keep getting better with each movie. Plus, Tom Cruise never disappoints in these movies. Always so entertaining and fun!

This is definitely from beginning to end my favorite out of the franchise and I love them all! And yes Tom did the Dubai stunt and about 90% of all stunts seen. Makes it so much more realistic.

This for me this where Tom Cruise literally became Ethan Hunt and Mission: Impossible stopped being a great action/spy franchise and turned out to be the definitive action franchise of the century.
Everything is next level here but the stunts are incredible ! . The scene where he climbs and jumps FOR REAL of the Burj Khalifa is one of the most ballsy things anyone could do and one of my favorite scenes ever. Tom Cruise is a legend !

Cruise rules the world with the MIs. It displays Cruise’s movie making genius. Cruise simply knows how to make incredibly entertaining films.

He was wired up with safety equipment, but he really was on the outside of that building, that high up.

I love how all their normally-reliable IMF tech fails them in this instalment, which just increases the tension while also allowing for some levity and humourous moments to play out as well, its a great balance. I've gone backwards and forwards for the past few years on whether Ghost Protocol is still my favourite of the series or the next one (Rogue Nation) topped it, haha, they're both enjoyable entries with inventive and fun set pieces, and characters that are likeable. Looking forward to the next reaction.
Still my favorite of the franchise, just for the entire Dubai sequence alone! I remember watching it with my Dad in the cinema and just being so amazed from start to finish!
The franchise is so well done. Maybe a few missed parts sure but the fact that they keep coming out with action packed scenes from start to finish is incredible

This film really amped up the stakes and stunts and just about everything in the series...and it just keeps getting better. Can't wait for the next 2 reactions to the MI series. Buckle up Cassie and Carly, you're in for a great ride.

He did actually do the stunt and he also sat at the tip top barefoot with no harness for a picture from a helicopter the guy is crazy LOL
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, commonly known as "the one where none of their spy tech works", and it's all the more impressive for the fact that they have to work around all these technology failures.
This is the best MI movie imo. The cast just works insanely well together and I had hoped Renner would return in the next one too.
The opener was both creative and hilarious, love the content on this channel. Some of the best promo's on TH-cam.
That tower climb is arguably one of cinema's greatest stunts. Period.
In the scene where Ethan is giving all his new agents their phones, I love the fact that he says "Agent Carter" as the camera cuts to, "Hawkeye", Jeremy Renner
Cassie's 'commercial' at the beginning, with Angel Eyes from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, was GREAT!!!
And the long intro before the movie, Cassie and Carly chatting, was my favorite part of this video; I think it'd be really fun to just hang out with these two. They're my favorite reactors 👍👍🍿🍿

Just listening to you two chatting to each other and having a laugh in these videos.... gets me thinking, I would have an absolute blast spending the day hanging out with you two, just watching movies all day, eating popcorn and having lots of laughs. You make us feel like we know you, whereas in reality we don't really know that much about you (sorry I've not done any of the live streams - Aussie time isn't very compatible - so you probably have told everyone lots about yourselves over in those videos). I'm sure so many of your subs must feel the same way as you two are so down to earth and relatable, not to mention funny and gorgeous. Sorry, I don't mean for my comment to sound flirty. I remember watching this in the theater with my family. Ghost Protocol is my favorite Mission Impossible movie. The stunts, the action, the story, the locations, the team and their futuristic equipment were all amazing.

I'm so glad ya'll are watching this series! Rogue Nation is probably my favorite but this one is a close second.
When Cruise told the film's safety guy the plan for the building climb/stunt, the safety guy told him it wasn't safe & they couldn't do it - So Cruise got a new safety guy.
This movie is action gold. The Burj Khalifa climbing sequence causes me genuine anxiety every time I watch it. Simon Pegg is fantastic, and Jeremy Rinner kills it too right before he became Hawkeye to the world. Fun fact; this movie was directed by Brad Bird, who also made The Incredibles and Ratatouille.
Great reaction ladies. 4, 5 & 6 are all next level action movies which seem to up the ante each time.
As said by others the Burj scene alone is worth the ticket price. And he did most of that himself.
I love the little callback to MI3 were he pulls a ‘Fulcrum’ with the firehose to get back down the building. Just brilliant.

This is probably my favorite of the series. The cast is great and play well off each other, it's well paced and balanced, and Simon Pegg adds the perfect amount of comic relief but still has stuff to do in the movie. He was kind of under utilized in Part 3. This is where he becomes one of the better recurring characters next to Ving Rhames IMO.
Lol. I love how Cassie spent half the movie lying almost flat on the bed in anticipation of what would happen. You 2 are so fun!

I literally just realized he should _not_ have said that line, because, for all intents and purposes, he basically self-destructed 5 seconds after giving the mission. 😅
Not only did Tom 100% climb the Burg Khalifa (on wires), but also him and the stunt team for fun one morning for lols flew a helicopter to the top and got Tom to sit up there without wires and it you see the pictures he's unsettlingly chill about the whole thing.
I'm really not the type of guy watching reaction videos but I took an exception for you channel. Love your reactions and I kinda like revisiting movie I watched with a faster pacing.
YES! Been waiting SO long for this one! Can't wait for you to watch Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. The CASABLANCA of Mission Impossible films. My all-time favourite Tom Cruise film.
Rogue Nation is the best M:I film and one of the best spy movies of all time.

I love Michael Giachinno’s music score in this film. It has that Incredibles feel to the music thanks to the fact Brad Bird directed this film.
As I’ve mentioned before, I think the franchise turned itself around with the third installment. That’s become a personal favorite of mine.
But every new installment has just gotten leaps and bounds better from there. Better stories, better team building and character development, and especially better action and stunt sequences.
4 is good for the crazy skyscraper climbing sequence and the huge sandstorm.
But I can’t wait till you get to part 5 and 6.
Benji and Luther becoming backbones to the group is something they needed. You need some continuance beyond just Tom for the world building. Excellent series.
@@slayerje1884 I agree, Benji, Luther, and the next member they pick up in Rogue Nation form a great support team for Ethan. Continuity is important and I’m glad it seems this will be the core group to close out the series in 7 and 8.
i remember this period was when tom cruise was still getting blowback from his 2005 meltdown, there was apparently serious discussion about getting brad pitt or another star to take over this series

TC of course did the climbing on the Burj stunt including the swing and the fall/run down. The still photographer on set did a making of book about this movie and the behind the scenes footage is easily as crazy as what you see in the movie. There obviously were safety cables but there were also camera helicopters very close to TC etc. It's just breathtaking. Have fun with 5 & 6 🧨

This is one of my favourites of the movies because of how they're working with failing equipment, lack of resources and very little planning/going in completely blind. At the end they become really close friends because of it all.

I truly think that you girls would absolutely love it! Tom Selleck at his best. A western that takes place in Australia! And a love story as well. It is just the type of movie you two need.

The one thing I love about this movie is that their equipment constantly malfunctions and the crew have to use their wits and instincts to get their job done. Thats such a cool way of grounding things and changing things up.

Fantastic reaction! Watching this in the theatres was, i kid you not, exhilarating. Of all the MI's this is probably my favourite. The subsequent ones are really good too, but this one, for me anyway, takes the cake. Looking forward to the next one!
It's amazing how this series only gets better from here on out. The first three movies are fine. But from Ghost Protocol on, this series actually becomes amazing.

This series is so fun to watch and I'm loving the reactions. Die hard with a vengeance (part 3) is one of my all time favourite action movies that has the non stop/against the clock feel of speed so would love you ladies to continue with that series too. You made my week in the last livestream by confirming you're going to do a Robin hood run of movies after my pleading week in week out for robin hood prince of thieves ❤️. Glad to hear An interview with the vampire is also on the cards as well, I guess you couldn't say no to long haired Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in the lead roles 😂
Oh this is going to be fun.. there is an amazing photo of Tom sitting on top of the tower of the Burj Khalifa over 2700 feet up. I highly suggest you two should take a quick look at it. As we know he does his own stunts.. This one is when he really started pushing the envelope as a stuntman.

Pirates is not a great movie or series
3:29 Honestly, I find the 3rd movie the least memorable as well. Likely b/c J.J. Abram's filmmaking style is pretty generic compared to Brian De Palma's & John Woo's. From this 4th movie on, I think the series has become more controlled by Cruise rather than the directors. Hence, their styles are more alike as opposed to the first three movies.
Tom Cruise pulling off a Spider-Man on that extremely tall building gave me frantic butterflies in my tummy! And it still does every time I see it!

As I am sure others have said, yes, Tom Cruise actually did the stunts on the Burj Khalifa. My hands are also sweaty every time I watch that part of the movie. The shots they got were so amazing and everything about what they had to do to shoot those scenes is pretty ridiculous. It's one of the biggest reasons why this movie is a huge favorite for a lot of the fans, and it is the exact point where people went all in on the series.
No he didn't and the myth that he does all the stunts in his movies is nonsense. He has like 8 stunt doubles on set for every movie he does.
@@Rowgue51 He doesn't do all of them but, he does do a lot more than most. For insurance/safety reasons, movies have to use stunt doubles (or at least have them available) for certain things. From what I've heard from people in the industry, he does as many stunts as a production will literally allow him to do and some of the things he's somehow managed to convince them into letting him do are just ridiculous.
Good tip: they usually draw the line at actors taking hits so, things like Ethan smacking into the window on his way back in was probably a stunt double but, lower impact things like him running facedown the Burj Khalifa and swinging around it were Tom.

Been waiting for this yess! Movie freak here, I still got 2 hard drives (2Tb) filled with movie collections. I love re-watching good movies with friends and families who haven't watched them and what annoys me the most is when someone doesn't pay full attention, fiddle with their phones and later ask what happened! Here I can re-watch with you guys :) Best movie reaction channel by a mile!
My favorite M:I film. The later ones may be stuntacular. But I love the camaraderie, the gadgets, the humor, the neck breaking pace, the sense of fun (easily the most fun of the series) and how it really captures the feel of the original TV series.
Top form intro! Also, I often forget the third one too and it's good! This one propelled my interest in the current slate! And glad you're fine and get much better!
