There may be hope (not for Mass Effect but for something new to take it's place) look up Exodus. Its being made by ex Bioware devs and even being written by Drew Karpyshyn (Who wrote ME1, ME2, KOTOR, and a good chunk of Bioware games before left he Bioware.
Well…They destroyed most of Thedas off screen, killed off the majority of plotlines and known companions, neutered both the Qunari and Tevintar, ruined any sense of mystery with the blight, the fade, the maker and the golden city… Yeah, no, the only thing they can do now is remake DAO…which will mean they will neuter that too because there is no way they have the balls to do shit like Broodmothers and the City Elf Origin.
I'm playing it in French, and the dialogues are atrocious. The protagonists speak in a stripped-down, almost vulgar modern language. The translation of DAO into French was exemplary: the characters spoke in a polished language, derived from old medieval French. What shocks me the most is having the feeling of landing in a story that has already taken place without my character. I'll take Treviso as an example: the entire plot unfolds before your eyes in a few minutes, and the Crows suddenly remember that Lucanis is alive, where he is, and how to reach him. The unfolding of the plots is reduced to its simplest expression. It seems as if entire chapters were cut to the extreme out of haste or lack of time. This "thing" is just a distorted parody of Dragon Age, it's an abomination where everything is sanitized, all situations are meant to be "non-offensive" and "benevolent". The characters and NPCs are "diverse" by ideology more than by anthropological and historical coherence, it's the quintessence of woke culture in its smallest aspects. I wonder how EA's management could validate the release of such a game which is clearly just a crude assembly of a service game planed on all sides, with dialogues that make almost no sense in view of the stakes (the elven gods).
After being reset in development more than once they should've just scrapped the thing all together instead of trying to shove out a half assed release.
This game is simply not canon in my book. Origins is still peak, and I also liked Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition, but Veilguard was really a torture to play, I guess I needed to see this mess for myself, but I really regret having contributed to the sales of this abomination. Veilguard is just a bad fanfiction. That said, next time I play Inquisition, I will just stop after defeating Corypheus, that will be the ending of the franchise for me. Dragon Age is just a trilogy.
Yeah I'd say just ignore Trespasser going forward. Veilguard has some good gameplay ideas, and I don't hate the gameplay as much as the majority did but everything surrounding it was being held together by a couple strands of strings. Whatever miniscule embers of hope still burning inside me for Mass Effect 5 died with this game. Mass Effect and Dragon Age will always be trilogies in my eyes.
Yep, Dorian and the struggle with his father on who he is, and characters like Krem were handled with extreme care and actually written well. If their were any complaints back then they were so miniscule and noticed by so few people no one really cared. This game and Bioware as a whole just don't measure up. It's company in name only and should be treated as such. Exodus, with former Mass Effect and KOTOR writer Drew Karpyshyn, seems like the game people should be focusing on instead of the next Mass Effect as I feel it's gonna be even less well received than Andromeda.
Unfortunately it is ongoing and many flaws in this game are a direct or indirect result of that. Though it doesn't have to be addressed at length, one can just focus on the individual flaws like this video does and it all speaks for itself. It automatically raises the question of 'where is the talent and skill'. And because there little of either then 'based on what have these new devs and directors been brought on'. What they are there to make is exactly what they made. They just want us to buy it too, which is their only real miscalculation in all of this.
You misspelled _one._ x'D But jokes aside yeah this was just bad fanfiction. A DA game of all things should have been a massive success and instead it was a failure, so I think we can all agree that they don't get a say in the story.
@@Martial_Autist I even read about what they planned to do with the Warden from Origins and jeez it was even worse than anything they did in Veilguard. As far as I'm concerned Veilguard is just bad fanfiction and should be treated as such.
Can't talk about everybody in this website, but for me, DA is dead and buried. I was a fan since Origins, bought every game and related media, and also had more than 500 hours invested in the three games. And I was still called a "bigot" and a "tourist" by David Gaider, the series' former lead writer and the guy whose salary my money helped pay during his years working at Bioware. Thus, not only I didn't buy Veilguard, I also deleted my Dragon Age Inquistion worldstates. Since Veilguard's release, I chose to identify myself as "non-buynary" and closed my wallet forever. Bioware will never again get another one of my pennies.

All they have to do is making a good game but nope, we got a woke game that destroy dragon age and don't be surprised if mass effect 5 or whatever they call it be woke to and I bet money their going be a character just like Tassh but worst
The game is barely woke besides Tassh but still one of the worst written character's I've ever had scene in a video game. The writers should all go back to school or find another profession cuz it was just bad across the board.
if it can defiled Dragon Age why do you think it's not going do the same to mass effect too? I mean the N7 day 2023 show not in armor anymore, more like robe or something I bet your ass it's female lead (the girl boss) type
That trailer was horrible and the internal team admitted they had no idea that trailer was gonna go out cuz it tested badly in house. While I think the art style isn't as bad as most it definitely loses a lot of the grit and realistic tone the first game had. I even remember when 2 came out and people dislike that art style as well, but grew to like it over time.
This game had a player peak on Steam which was almost TWICE that of the very successful Jedi Fallen Order. You people wanting to think it failed are living in your own head cannon... and for that you have my pity.
😂 the coping. It's very funny to see there are still people out there who think the game didn't flop, when Mr Corrine has already said the game didn't sell well.
So as bad and awful Taash is as a character (arguably the worst in the series) being about 5% of the game is what killed it? Take the goggles off bro, it's the writing that killed it. The writers being woke definitely attributed to their lack of ability of being any decent at the job but that's just a byproduct that caused the actual problem with the game, the shit writing.
Honestly, Dragon Age has always been “woke” to some extent, though not as aggressively as Veilguard. It’s the shitty, lifeless dialogue and constant hand-holding that killed this game. It’s Dragon Age for WIMPS.
Ragebaiting online to grow your channel is like taking roids to grow your muscles, the results are ugly, the side effects are permanent, and it's never worth it in the end.
Who's ragebaiting? What the hell are you talking about? lol. Anyone with half a brain can tell Veilguard is the worst in the Dragon Age series by a country mile and it all comes down to the development and the quality of writing. If you can't admit that you've got rose tinted goggles on bro. My biggest problem with it is how the writing is so bad, that it actually retcons previous Dragon Age lore actively making it worse. I'm curious, what did you enjoy about Veilguard and do you think another game in the series is worse, and if so, why?
@Drexxyl DAO and DA2 are practically unplayable in this day and age, DAI and just the state of the gaming industry today make them look ridiculous in hindsight. Star Wars has some cringy dialogue and plot points, but they're considered some of the best movies ever, especially ROTS which has some of the worst writing in the saga. And finally, it's their lore. It's a fantasy make believe fictional fake story about magic, none of it ever made sense to begin with. Elder Scrolls steps on the toes of It's lore plenty but they're arguably the best games ever made (dragonbreak FTW). Bioware tried a lot of new stuff in this game, it's not what we expected, but a lot of people really love it, and we unfortunately can't tell if there's anything actually lackluster that may exist in some people's opinions is just being obfuscated by gigachuds obsessing over a total of 20 seconds of the character arch of one side character. I could write a properly structured and evidenced essay on the subject but this should be way more than enough. Im sorry for spreading bitterness on Christmas tho
Your comment = I don't like people telling the truth about how bad this game is, and why MOST gamers didn't like it, and why is flopping so badly, so I want to silence this guy that doesn't follow my echo chamber.

The gameplay is actually fine, which most people oddly didn't enjoy. It's the quality of writing that drags it down, complete lack of choices from other games and actively retconning or making things in previous games worse.

I have no hope for people who waste their holiday vacations posting nasty comments about a game they haven't even played.
@@themostbestwizard What nasty comments?
There may be hope (not for Mass Effect but for something new to take it's place) look up Exodus. Its being made by ex Bioware devs and even being written by Drew Karpyshyn (Who wrote ME1, ME2, KOTOR, and a good chunk of Bioware games before left he Bioware.
@@RoseOfSharyn18 Yep follow the talent not the studio. Everything shown from Exodus so far has been great.
Well…They destroyed most of Thedas off screen, killed off the majority of plotlines and known companions, neutered both the Qunari and Tevintar, ruined any sense of mystery with the blight, the fade, the maker and the golden city…
Yeah, no, the only thing they can do now is remake DAO…which will mean they will neuter that too because there is no way they have the balls to do shit like Broodmothers and the City Elf Origin.
Let's not have them remake DAO, giving the rights to a more competent studio would be in it's best interest at this point.
The God awful writing ✍️
After being reset in development more than once they should've just scrapped the thing all together instead of trying to shove out a half assed release.
mass effect 5 will never come out
bioware is dead
Nothing but facts. Also appreciate you not making it a culture war thing and actually talking about the quality of the writing
Agree or not that was a major issue for a lot of people and the main reason a huge amount of people didn't like it or even refused to play it
Unfortunately it is ongoing and many flaws in this game are a direct or indirect result of that.
@@Drexxyl. I disagree with Krem.
While Dorian was written better, Krem was the beginning of Veilguard.
I don't know what you're on about. There are only three Dragon Age games.
You're right. Must've been a nightmare I had, it all seemed so real.
You misspelled _one._ x'D
But jokes aside yeah this was just bad fanfiction.
Coincidentally three is ALSO the number of people who watched this video and actually played the game.
Larian wants people to play there original IP going forward. It would be a shame if none of this go will translated to the Divinity series.
Yeah even if I was all for that made up gender stuff that awful dialogue would still destroyy immersion into the games story.
Dragon Age is dead, ye. But Dragon Age: Veilguard didn't kill it, it was the weapon. Bioware killed it.
Good point, and now Bioware has Mass Effect in it's sights!
@@Drexxyl Given how huge mass effect is that could hopefully push bioware over the edge. Finally. Then no more bad fanfiction and we can wait for their IP's to get picked up by ppl who actually care someday. Until that day we still have origins and ME1-2.
Combat sucks, no roleplay, sewer dung heap level writing, no respect to lore, God awful visuals that do not match with the franchise's dark fantasy motif, the "conspiracy theory" ending, absolute PATHETIC PUT THIS GARBAGE AS A SPIN OFF AND SEND IT TO THE BIN!
It's too late. The Evanuris plot, the Dalish, and Tevinter - Qun war are just done. Finished...
:(
Honestly, I don’t think it really matters how good or bad the next ME is. This studio had 3 b2b failures now and has cost EA a staggering amount of money. The studio is probably going to close regardless, or at best just be dissolved into EA as a whole
Mass Effect was already ruined a long ago, with ME3 ending, That's when Bioware downfall started.
THIS!!!! 😐
Yup
I literally just picked up inquisition on the PS5 for chest under £3 because it's probably the best of the series I have no intention of buying this one
I still rank Origins above all but Inquisition is damn good. Shame how different the studio became in 10 years.
Haven't a lot of the people who worked on the older titles left the team?
Yep there's hardly any of the writers or staff left at Bioware, it's just a shell of it's former self. Follow the talent, not the studio.
@@Drexxyl no the team was led by veterans like John Epler who worked on the original Dragon Age games.
Try telling the truth for a change.
@@themostbestwizard. That's why he said, there's "hardly any".
He never said there's NO ONE.

@@SeventhheavenDK "hardly any" doesn't mean anything less than 100%. Learn English.
100% it? Bro, if you are held in a basement somewhere and need help, give us a hint...
It was like 59 hours, at a certain point I was just speed reading the game and skipping the voices, lol. I was committed as I've 100%ed every single Dragon Age and Mass Effect game up to this point, my OCD demanded I complete it.
There's a lot "hate" in their hearts 😅
if it can defiled Dragon Age
why do you think it's not going do the same to mass effect too?
I mean the N7 day 2023 show not in armor anymore, more like robe or something
I bet your ass it's female lead (the girl boss) type
Disagree with your opening. The art style killed the game for me. Just watching the trailers completely turned me off from this game.
Crybaby
This game had a player peak on Steam which was almost TWICE that of the very successful Jedi Fallen Order.
You people wanting to think it failed are living in your own head cannon... and for that you have my pity.
they just a low sub youtuber trying to grow through ragebait.
@@MagnaGresh true that.
No one cares that you enjoyed yourself. Flashing lights entertain many children. Enjoy them and piss off.
😂 the coping.
It's very funny to see there are still people out there who think the game didn't flop, when Mr Corrine has already said the game didn't sell well.

Another shill video. No it wasn't the bad writing, it was the woke DEI garbage that killed the game. Keep coping tho.
Game was 50% off so I got it. Really enjoying it. It’s not like the DA of old but I’d say outside of the trans agenda and action rpg direction it’s decent. I’d wager most the vitriol comes from people who never played the game.
The gameplay is actually fine, which most people oddly didn't enjoy. It's the quality of writing that drags it down, complete lack of choices from other games and actively retconning or making things in previous games worse.
