Crazy how these 90s hairstyles are making a comeback.
Right I used to slick my hair like this everyday when getting ready for junior high school
Right with different names, but as long as that microwave ponytail don't come back I'm good, cause baby we wore some crazy styles🤣🤣
@@chaketanicholson143 girl! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes ma'am! Have you ever burned the hair rollers cuz you had it in the microwave too long???🤣🤣💀💀
My grandma would always nothing ever goes out of style it’ll come back around.
Exactly but you know what they say “history always repeats itself”
Like baking a cake, you took your time, neat job, not skipping steps. I enjoyed your work and you didn't need to speak. Thank you
Thank you so much!
@@KiaStylezU hi did use to look shine?
Very neat throwback swoop. How it’s supposed to be done. I can feel the tightness just looking at it though 🥴 The best feeling is coming home and taking out a weave ponytail and rubbing that sore spot in the middle of your head😩
Lol.. hecks yeah
🤣🤣🤣
For sure lol
Girlll! You are not lying!
Lol mine always end up on the floor by the bed 😆
I wore this style back in the 90's it was just called a ponytail with a swoop bang🤣🤣🤣🤣 Now it's a Barbie ponytail😂😂😂 Nice job real cute❤
Thank you 💙
@@KiaStylezU aaaaaaaaaaaaa
I think it’s called Barbie ponytail cause it’s flipped just like how Barbie wore hers. We called it that back in the days. Or swoop ponytail with waterfalls, pin curl ponytail with a swoop lol. Whatever type of ponytail we would say the name and say with a swoop or double swoop. Yes we wore the double swoop too smh 🤦🏽♀️ lol 😂
I think because it comes up then down in flips like the profile of a barbie
How can I reach you
Now THATS how you do this hairstyle. Love how you did sections at a time...well done maam...
I love how you didn't rush and really got every hair on her head👍 great job lady 👌😉
Thank you ☺️
I absolutely love watching an artist at work and that was artistry you did a wonderful job
It's crazy how all of the best hairstyles from my high school years are coming back. My daughter has been going through my old pics and asking if she can wear her hair like I did in the olden days? I was flattered and offended at the same time 😂😂😂😭😭
Flattered and Offended okayyyy🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣
Too adorable 😭😭
Same, my daughter is 16. 😂

If you don’t get a million views something is wrong with the Hair world because this is golden. You’re using my favorite barrel irons.
☺️💙
Nice
I love how you do everything section by section...I’m taking notes to perfect my ponytails..Love it here ❤️
Thank you! I’m glad it’s helpful. I was hoping that it would be. Question... do you think I should do voiceovers or are my videos ok without them?
@@KiaStylezU I mean I don’t think the voiceovers are necessary..I love how you just get straight into it. No long drawn out intros like other TH-camrs & we can clearly see what you’re doing, Im honestly content lol
Are you using cool AIR when you are molding the hair?
Awesome Job bringing back the 90's retro look with literally a twist and a flip but at the same time keeping it 2021 fresh.
@@KiaStylezU where are you located at?
I’m feeling nostalgic with this hair style!! This was my go to hairstyle in the 90s and we called it a high ponytail with a swoop bang. and we used the same technique to install it too:) The only thing that’s different is that instead of Got 2B spritz we used Pump it Up pink spritz and that orange hair wax on the edges😁. Well done:)
I love pump it up, it smellsso good. They just need a spray can instead of that phony lil mist.
@@ashhall4681 Got2B smells the EXACT same! When I got it and sprayed it, I hollered laughing. Same stuff, different day!
I've been natural since 2002, but I could literally smell the spritz and Marcel wax when I read your comment. Good memories ☺️
My mama literally just was telling me about the orange hair wax lol
I forgot about the orange wax
Omg .....I love it.....I used to wear this hairstyle back in the 90s❤️also the swoop with a updo hairstyle ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍Thank You for bringing it back 🙏🏽😍🙏🏽
I’m tryin 🤞🏽
]lpppp
It looks nice! My stylist did this exact technique for a ponytail several months ago. When I took it down two weeks later, my hair was major dry & extra shedding from all the spray. I was applying oil using a plastic bottle w/a tip. Back in the day, my ponytails were styled mostly with gel on the outer perimeter & not in sections and was my go-to style. Not nearly as much shedding and dryness after uninstall as this. Ponytails are one of the reasons I've had balding in my crown area. I don't believe this method is healthy because of too much spritz application, which contains alcohol and dries out the hair.
Not good to get often forsure
Straight out of the 90s. Good job! I forgot about how much work those boys take!
*Slayed Technique 101*You Did that.Lovely.I enjoyed watching you slay**
I appreciate that
Barbie ponytail? Hell I'm 51 and this is A PONYTAIL WITH A SWOOP BANG! COME THRU 1990! #beeswaxandpumpitupspritz🤣😂🤣😂
U r so right!!!! Come thru 1990!!! I use to wear my hair like this all the time!
Pretty much
Ok...😂😂😂😂💯
Barbie pony tail sounds weird. I def don’t look like a Barbie.🤡 I like swoop pony a lot better.☝🏻😂
Nothing new under the sun. They think they're the first.
Wow! That's the best barbie ponytail I've ever seen! Simply beautiful!!!
This pony giving me liiiiife😭😍 I’m taking notes
☺️💙
It’s super neat. I just wish those side burns was brushed in too but I’m sure that’s how she wanted it. Nice job
This is totally a 90's hairstyle! Love the swoops! Matched with the hoops 😉
No its not actually Mary From the Supremes wore it 1967 before I Dream of Jeannie did
😉
@@paulettemorris2808 Okay, regardless of the year it came out- it was very popular in the 90s. It's old school. We get it.
@@tyw3537 right, exactly!! Lol lol, definitely 90s
@Ty Ty one of the aspects of it being "Old School " is many if not all were wearing wigs back in the day. If you get the opportunity to look at old album covers you'll see the wigs. Plus I know because I'm Old School" I was there and saw many performances live and on tv.
I love these 90s styles. I’m glad they are making a come back
Nice job! The swoop covered her edges because they are thin and quite damaged. I'll be honest I never knew that Got2B could be used for ponytails. Lol I was waiting for the gel + a bit of spray combo
I thought I was the only one that noticed them edges is gone.
That’s why her edges are gone in the first place, instead of using a little gel to hold her ponytail and spritz to keep it in place she literally sprayed the hardest hair spray known to man now she’s gonna be itchy and breaking off her already damaged edges 😩😩
You’re so good at what you do 🥺 your work speaks for itself! Wow
Thank you 💙

Oh wow back in style we wore that in Florida 😊
You killed that !!!!!!! Period
Thank you for this video! No need for a voiceover. It is self explanatory! Absolutely great job!
When u did that swoop I hit like, awesome job
Very pretty, u hooked her hair up. I use to wear this hairstyle sometimes back when I was a teenager and in my early 20's. But that swoop on the forehead going to be too hot Chile. I just can't do bangs of any kind when its hot, In the fall and winter yesssss.
This was the first prom hairstyle I did back in 1998 at StyleMasters Beauty Academy!! Thanks for his throwback hairstyle memory!! I went on from that to becoming a stylist for 20 yrs. Great memories❤ and it was that horrid pump it up back then, not all the glue we criss crossed 2 Bobby pins in the crown adding the extensions.
You did a beautiful job. This is also a beautiful young lady that you did the hairdo on. God Bless you.
Bringing that flip back! Beautiful
Best swoop I've ever seen ❤️🥰
Wow you did that it's not a piece of hair out of place I would love for you to do my hair Great work
Very pretty...I remember this style from back in the day..great job
MEMORIES....We called this Jeanie..From the show I dream of Jeanie.....GREAT JOB
It was a 90s hair Style
@@shakiellarobinson7231 It was a 60s hairstyle, too. Funny how all the styles come back around with different names, isn't it?
you really did an outstanding job with your mold down 🙌
Thank you!! ☺️
1000f 💍🧼🧁🍸🍼🎄🎉
Absolutely beautiful. I was just wondering why so many rubberbands before the wrapping?
It stiffens molds the base of the ponytail.
I love it, very neat and nice. now that style is no longer the 90s ponytail is 2021 ponytail ♥️
Nothing new under the sun.
You go girl! This is the best one I’ve seen!!! Amazing, I’m about to try this technique tonight!!!
Yasss flip ponytail with the swooped bang!
Wow,this is extravagantly, i would like to do this my wedding day
Simply beautiful. The stylist is excellent
I can smell the spritz thru the video (well atleast that' us OLD SKOOLS used when we wore these styles) that glue shit is new new!!!..... very nice job
Spritz! I haven't heard that is forever!😂 I ❤️ the 90s
Lots of work but perfection.
Just what I needed!!!!!!!! I struggle so much with putting the swoop into the ponytail. I just leave it out 😭
I'll be posting a video strictly on doing the swoop with a voiceover maybe today or tomorrow.
I’ll be looking out for it!! 🤍🤍
Thank you ☺️💙
What’s the flat iron name?
I would to it looked good to leave it straight and full .so pretty.
Absolutely Beautiful!! This look was flawless.
Thank you
People say nothing is perfect, but THIS sure the hell is!!! The stylist did this like she could do it in her sleep. Beautiful job!!!
The way you just made this look so easy and satisfying like 😩😍😍
I use to wear and do these ponytails in my clients hair. I’m a “87” cosmetologist ✌️. And she did good by babee babee this video just made me want to do one
💙
Old Skool hair styles are coming back!!
I so enjoyed watching this...u took your time...each step to get a smooth finish...beautiful outcome...very informative...awesome work 👏
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord and I will be joyful in God my savior
True Artistry!!! GREAT Job enjoyed watching you work, brilliant!!!
Wow you did a fantastic job, well done that is just beautiful.
SLAYED!!! 🤚🏾🤚🏾🤚🏾🤚🏾🤚🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been wearing this hairstyle for 4 years now, and my hair has grown sooo much. I went from neck length to tailbone length. It’s a very good protective style.
How long does this style last I always wear two pigtails with drawstring ponytails and would love to give this a try ~
she looks amazing with that hairstyle🤍! its giving Barbie💕
I wanted to see her go to the prom, or a wedding!! How adorable! If I weren't old I would so do that!
You diiid that! Chile she laid that hair down! I love it...Im tryna figure out my next hairstyle and this could be the one!
She looks beautiful!
Wow ! Thats a lot of WORK for a pony tail 🙉💪❤
Listen!!! You are so amazing for showing us this from start to finish. Thank you!!! ❤❤❤❤
I’m a old school stylist give me some gel and I’m good. I need to know the long term affect of using that spray on the hair like that. My customer need their hair can’t have it falling out. But this is cute. Use to wear it all the time and do them and it looked the exact same as this. It’s beautiful!
One of my favorite hairstyles.🤩😍🥰🔥🔥🔥
Well done!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥
It's so pretty. My daughter's edges would break off when she was younger due to my sisters braiding her hair too tight and I would keep her hair in loose plats and highly moisturized until they grew back.
Just one question...why spray it, dry it, set it then comb it out then spray and dry it again? Style looks great but watching you comb out each part you set stressed me out a bit. 😩
Now...I don't watch to many hair videos but this was good...🥰
Glad you liked it!!
The 90’s attack. It looks good! Ears use to be so sticky. 😂
Beautiful
Is there a reason for all the rubberbands
Super satisfying 😌
☺️💙
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!🖤🖤🖤🖤
Beautiful beautiful great work I have real hair long and wavy am Mexican and all I do is put it in a bun when we should style it like that have a bless day
Yes Kia, u the truth!! best method I've seen thus far!
I appreciate that!
😍😍😍Gurl.... YOU DID THAT!!!💯 LOVE IT!!! -LOVE & BLESSINGS💕
Great job! You have skills girl. This is beautiful.
Great Job. Looks really great. Wishing you could do me a styled ponytail too!!
I love it. Beautiful with perfection
Before it was a 90's hair style it was a 50's style it still looks very pretty
Everything old is new again.
The Got2be spray is the spray I see so many hairstylist using. I’m sure it’s the equivalent of spritz.
You did a nice job with the style.
I used to wear some of these styles that I see being done. I changed it everyday or every other day. I’m glad I was able to do it myself. We’re so creative.😉
This is beautiful, and that swoop ohhh yas!!
Girrrlll you did ur thang!! U rock!!
Yes, I just ran across this. I also wore my real hair in this style. Very popular style in the 90s.
She Slayed it 😍
Beautiful GOD BLESS very detailed oriented
Thank you! ☺️
Yep R Mobley in the 90s, they are bringing all the styles back with a twist, but this style never changed. It's pretty
You did an amazing job 🥺😍. It’s one of the best i’ve seen 😩
Thank you!!!
This was a signature style for me in the mid 90s.
I love her hair,,,you did a awesome job,,I really love her hair ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
She is so pretty and I love it so very good job ❤
The best barbie ponytail
Cute ponytail hairstyle
Outstanding work Ms.LadySkillzzzzz!!
Loveeee it😍.... I never knew all was needed was the got2b spray...
what product was used when curling? And if I’m all natural and course hair would I need some type of gel to lay it down before adding the got2b spray??
Gel will just make it curl up.
I have my own spritz... that’s what I use for my curls
You will need to blow your hair out and press then do her steps
I followed this video my first time doing this hairstyle n I love how it broke down each step! My pony so 🔥 thank youuu lol
You're so welcome!
I love this hairstyle and her her hair is so nice the barbie hairstyle suts her and i am getting my ponytail tommrow
Her hairline is already gone from doing her hair like that however, well done and excellent technique. You're the boss at what you do.
Absolutely beautiful
This is so beautiful, I hope I get to do this soon
Neat and cute. I would've curled the top layer under for extra movement it would've still had the barbie ting gon on...
How do you prevent the white flakes from showing up after a week of wearing this hairstyle?
Well done but oh so ugly on that awful hair
They all have horrible hair it has to have so much product in it that the hair looks hard
@@fyrnahardman4206 Who is "they all"?
Do not ever speak of anything your feeble mind knows nothing about.
Got2b glued usually doesn't flake but I don't think it's a good idea to leave hair spray that's pretty close to being 90 percent alcohol on your hair for a week. That's how the hair gets dry, brittle and susceptible to damage and breakage.
@@thealchemist5761 okay thanks. But yea got to be hair spray and gel does flake it’s happened to me more than once, that’s why I don’t use it often unless I get a ponytail which is once in a blue. Also when I use it to glue my wigs down it dries with a white residue. Not sure how you’ve never seen that with got 2 b spray or glue. I actually hate it. I was just hoping someone had a hair hack to prevent that.
@@marshabrown1834 I only use it to secure my lace and it never flaked around my lace. I don't use it on my actual hair or wigs. The way they used to do it back in the day so it wouldn't flake is but pomade on the hair first then put hair lacquer and blow dry it. I think the the pomade keeps it from flaking and turning back so there's the hack.
