Vauquois Hill 3D Visualization

As part of the Meuse Argonne Battlefield 3D Visualizations, this section focuses on Vauquois Hill. LIDAR technology, which illuminates an object with a laser and then analyzes the light that is reflected, was used to create the images. This video was produced as part of the UNC/VT Transatlantic Teacher Scholar’s Project.

so the numbers on the card at 4:20 represent the devisons. my great uncle was vliving in illinoise but was in the army in the 138 infantery regiment, 35 devision. he was missing in action on 26th of september 1918. he changed his name from vincenzo to charles. ofcourse my father did not know that. somebody from a genealogy site found him for me.

Are any of the tunnels and galleries open to the public at Vauquois?

Thanks for your question Laurie. We don't have the details in terms of access to the tunnels, however, a lot of people visit the site as part of guided tours. They're definitely accessible.

@@lauriebutton7283 As of 21.5.2019 there was one tunnel that we could access with no guide for at least 20 metres - it wen't deeper but we hesitated even if it was in good condition. There was also one that was being renovated and with guided tours I'm sure more are accessible as there were locked doors with light on behind them
