The thing about Billy is that when you feel that you've made some pretty good progress in your own playing and think that "Haha! I'm closing in on him! I can see him in the distance!", he makes a small leap and then is five thousand light years ahead of you.. Again... It's truly inspiring!
As an instructor, he has great points. Like he says, you do it the way you're most comfortable, but you can still take something away from his technique. I play with 3 fingers, but not the same way he does, but I was still able to walk away with something. Don't give up, keep on track and move forward! Also, thank you Billy for the tutorial.
Yes he made a point that its natural for him to move from ring to index finger and then said, but maybe its different for you. Indeed it is much more natural for me to pluck index to ring, so I took in this lesson in reverse. Glad he was aware of that and made the comment!
Dude! I can't express how happy it makes me i'm not the only one driving people(my wife) crazy!!! Now i have motivation to spend even more hours perfecting that machinehand😁🥰 Thank you! 🤘
Hey Billy, thanks for your lessons. I am a long time drummer and switched to the bass. Your instructions mirror closing to my practice regiment. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Much light brother man!
My ring finger was paralyzed till now , I have to relearn all I know with three finger plucking. It won't be as hard this time cause I already know it but it sure seems all new.

Awesome!!
And the pinky goes loose and crazy!
his tech has always been to the service of music and not the opposite, which is commendable.

Never realized he was doing the NHOP basically
Awesome technique. It's just like Alex Webster's picking, only it's used for different styles. Both are good.
I feel like my brain is broke doing 3 finger playing. Gonna keep practicing it though.
Bad ass

Billy machinehand...
Ok so guess I'll try playing the harmonica instead.
Let me guess. Billy has been practicing this for ... a while ... ? :D
