- A Carnatic Quartet were the finalé artistes on Day 1 of the FEA-curated and presented CUSP festival that was held in Chennai earlier this year.
The group consists of Shreya Devnath on violin, Mylai M Karthikeyan on nadhaswaram, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and Gummudipoondi R Jeevanandham on thavil.
They began their recital with a Theertha Mallari in Ragam Gambhira Nattai.
Mallari is the forte of Nadhaswaram.... Nothing in this world can match the feel when played on a Nadhaswaram.
World class performance, salute to the artists. Mallari brings joy and happiness whenever you listen to it.great job🙏🙏

Paravasinchi poyaa.. You have shown the true beauty of Gambhira Nattai.. No words to express my inner happiness..
I enjoyed twice repeatedly!! Thanks a million..
Addiction!! Keep on hearing again and again !! .... Nicely recorded sounds and Wonderful visual presentation with antiques around!! One kind request would be please perform the Pancharathna Mallari in a similar way.
Such passionate artists and when they all come together it results in such a melodious Mallari, long live those artists and this God sent art. Can't stop this song on a loop, it feels so majestic to just hear this. Close your eyes and go into a trans of watching this being played when a deity is taken on pallaki utsavam🙏🏽
FANTABULOUS!!!
Mind-blowing. Loss of words to describe.
மிகவும் இனிமையாக இருந்தது செவிக்கும். மனதிற்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி

Very nice..think Mr Sparsh got a new instrument..very much like Ghambira Nattai..
Wowww, simply mesmerising 🌈🌈🌈
Mainly from after 5 min 💥💥💥💥🔥🔥
What'a great understanding from both and coordination 👏👏❤️❤️
beautiful. loved the harmonies
Next time try to balance the sound between Violin-Nadhaswaram and Mridangam-Tavil. Violin and Mridangam sounds are dominating when the four play in unison. Tavil was nowhere to be heard.
I do not agree
Excellent & mind blowing performance!!

Thavil is too low on sound levels, on all the vidoes that have been uploaded. The variation stands out in this Mallari. First edition Arts, I always love the recording quality of your videos, is there something you could do differently with this the next time?
Syama Varma yes unfortunately we faced some serious technical issues in these concerts. We feel terrible about the audio quality. Apologies to the musicians and rasikas.
Thanks for the reply.

Is that set to roopaka talam?
It is set to misra chapu
What that skull of a goat doing at the back ?
This festival also included a lot of art installations that were placed all over the venue. The “skull of the goat” was one such exhibit.

I have a doubt non brahmins are allowed here to watch ? We can have a ticket.
Lol why are you whining like a pussy
@@aghamarshanakaushik2935 buddy sometimes when i go to natraja temple that is how they are treating us, sorry i didn't mean anything. I respect the music that much and sometimes i felt like, to learn such a kind of music and I should change myself to an vegetarian. These feelings are mostly not due to the upper and lower classes also the respect to the music.
Ramki, I can understand what you truely meant. Let us try to remove these age old bad rules.
Excellent!
