I have collected quite a few 1938 KGVI Commonwealth and Imperial stamps as I was born in 1938, and my favorite set is the Canada 1938, as a beautiful elegant and sophisticated example of that era.
Thank you Vincent and Andy! I loved this video. I am still a relative beginner stamp collector and I am only starting to sort my collection into stock books, but continuously think and try to decide how I would like to have the collection eventually displayed. So, I enjoyed this video showing two different collections and collection styles. Thanks again!
This was useful. I'm currently trying to decide how to lay out my own collection(s). For now, they are in the stock book pages for the very reason you mentioned -- flexibility -- as I am still adding. But there's something about the plastic pages that I resist for the longer term. Yet I don't fancy the traditional hinge method, either. I'm trying to come up with a completely new system, but it hasn't quite jelled yet. I agree with Vincent that the George VI years are beautiful ones, but for the moment I'm going for the earliest Victorias, across the Commonwealth, among other things. They are a little harder to come by in the US, however.
I changed around 5 years ago to the flexible way. But my stamp collection is mixed, it takes its time to get them in my flexible system. Beside this, the flexible system, when it is in order, is so more convenient when enhancing the collection. I´m not a fan of these old albums with hinged stamps. There is always the danger to ruin them or some have the tendence to stick on the page. I had several bad experiences with it. Regarding King George I do not take this as own collection. In this period you have the omnibus issues which is not what I´ml ooking for. But the longer sets like you showed with Aden or Domonica is exact what I like besides many other sets from this era. But I also like the older ones. I hope, UK will come back into the EU in the future. With this I would bid on this and that what you offer. Buying from Germany in UK is a real pain in the ass from my experience. With this I don´t do it anymore. Hopefully this wil change.
As a stamp video creator myself, I found this to be a great video and topic. Hope to see more from your channel soon! 🔎✉️🎬
