I've only ever tried crochet twice in my life and I just made this for my little ginger cat (nugget). I messed up in a few places but it's not noticeable, I've never made anything apart from a straight line before so thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial

@@LittleGemsCreations1 I realised my cheap Chinese wool make it more difficult, I bought some decent wool and remade it and I'm really happy with it, I've gotten to grips with crocheting thanks to this video, my cat drags her jumper to me to get me to put it on so she definitely likes it

Thank you for the pattern and showing us how to crochet it and how to finish it off. I have been trying to find a simple easy pattern as I haven't crocheted in over 25 years and have a cat I love dearly and we live in the Northwest Washington State and it rally gets cold here. I just rescued a kitty and shew as so matted she had to be sedated to be shaved. I couldn't remove the matts myself since they were to her skin. She is so tiny and so I'm going to make this to see if she will tolerate wearing it. Hopefully she will. I'm keeping my place a bit warmer right now for her.
Yes, I recommend cat sweaters for cats that have medical issues or are hairless. 🌹

I know this video was made months ago lol but I’m confused on the decrease, the original row had 20 HDC and then And then you started decreasing and you said how there should be 18 in the row or something like that by decreasing, but when I did the two rows of the decrease, I only got to 15 and total?
You turn 2 sts into 1 at both ends of the row.

4 ply medium weight yarn. Roll the yarn in your fingers and see how many strands it has. This will tell you if it’s 4 ply.

I’m having trouble with having the correct amount of stitches, at 12:36 where there are 20 hdc I only had 15…. any tips?

The part for the back is 30 and the chest part is 20.

You may crochet tighter than I do. Try going up a crochet hook size or try 1 of my small dog sweater tutorials.

I've tried this pattern 10 times, and for the life of me when I do the chest part, there's a gap of about 8 stitches after I add the 20 HDC. I counted every single row, and can't for the life of me get it. 😥

Why would a cat want to wear a sweater? Most animals find clothing binding and restrictive. I don't agree with it. How would you like having something you don't like stuck on you? Treating animals like dolls. Think about it.

My daughter has a hairless cat and he loves the warmth of a sweater. I think it just depends on the animals temperament.

It absolutely is!! Dogs might not complain..., but cats are very sensitive creatures. 😢
