Love this! Did you have a think about reinforcing the storage unit you're using as a seat? If you put metal brackets in the corners it would help a lot! Even just shef brackets.

That corner looks so much tidier and put together! You did a great job! I personally dont think you needed the panelling I wouldve just put all the pictures on that part of the wall. When you do the renovation couldn't you still keep that setup because you like it but move it to the hallway corner instead?

I get eczema on my eyes as well Cary's, not sure if you've tried it so sorry if you have, but I've found the lanolin cream really helps with any dry or cracked spots and it doesn't sting ☺️ super hydrating it's fab for any spot there's a flare up

If you add back on that shelf seating it would help with steadiness. You can use mdf or some kind of board and screw it on back side.

I would do a repeating "L" shape with the paneling to accentuate the shape of the window / make a geometric pattern
