- Nafpaktos is very nice town in Greece!
We recommend visiting this town.
Nafpaktos is one of the most picturesque small towns in Greece, located in the western part of the country, opposite the northern coast of the Peloponnese. Its medieval character makes it a popular place for a relaxing holiday!
Population 17 000
There is a famous bridge in front of the city.
The Rio-Antirrio Bridge (Greek: Γέφυρα Ρίου-Αντιρρίου), officially the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge, is one of the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and longest of the fully suspended type. It crosses the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road. It opened one day before the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics.
Bridge toll: Cars: €14.70 Motorcycles: €2.00 Buses: €32.00-€69.00 Trucks: €21.00-€43.00
On the hill above Nafpaktos stands a majestic medieval castle, a relic of Venetian rule. The castle of Nafpaktos offers beautiful views of the sea and the natural surroundings.
The port of Nafpaktos is the trademark of the city! Surrounded by stone walls and towers, it exudes a discreet medieval charm.
It is best to rent a car and take day trips to the neighboring towns of Messolonghi, Patras, Olympia, Delphi and Lake Trichonida.
Enjoy!
