I don't usually comment on videos but this was one of the best explanations I have found on rank and percentiles. It was exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you!!
As usual good one. I think the denominator calculation can be shifted before return assigning to a variable as it will not vary for the filter context and may improve the performance.
Thank you, really well explained. I might be missing something, but I would have expected the top Teacher salary to be 100% in the occupation percentile column, but no-one is 100%?
This worked perfectly for me but I do have some percentiles that are tied. Is there a way to create a tie breaker? In my case it would be based on sales dollars instead of salary.
I have data of day wise sales entry for lots of items and multiple locations and i want to calculate periode wise percentile and location wise is it possible
If I want to add a percentile line to a line chart. Can I do this through analytics pane via adding percentile line or I have to use DAX to create a measure PERCENTILEX.INC() ??? Please let me know as I stuck somewhere and need to answer this question ASAP .. Thank you in advance
Super helpful! But how can I create a percentile that would not only have a filter on something like occupation but also for year? So for example, the salary percentiles by occupation and by year. Thank you for any additional insights!
You need two things. 1. Date Table 2. Modify the ALLEXCEPT part in the measure to include the year column from the Date Table for both the numerator and denominator. It should work! Hope this helps
@@GoodlyChandeep Firstly thank you for this video, I believe i am trying to achieve the same as @Maria Zieba. I have percentile calculated based on Weekly performance, but it rolls up into the month and the year it doesn't work. The data you can imagine to be something like this Sales Agent, Weekending date, Total sales for the week. I tried to modify the ALLEXCEPT part, but the relation ship with the Dates table is many to many and i get an error. What i am trying to visualise is performance Quarterly, Monthly and weekly to identify Top and bottom quartile performers.
y did u use coalsce function, what is the importance of the function, can we do directly calculate function all function remove the filter in total sales then use divide function . can u explain it briefly

You are a master teacher, Chandeep! Shows how well you understood the subject and DAX.
Wow, this is awesome. I'm building a comp analytics dashboard view and this pretty much covered all the elements that I want to show. Thank you!
You are fantastic buddy... Thank you for sharing so much knowledge on PBI and PQ.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. Not even AI could give me the answer I needed. :) Thank you again!!!!

Excellent, thanks so much!

@@J58988S hi did u solve the problem at last? i want to filter with date as well
What About doing it for the Sale Order Table? The order number and customer no will be duplicated , Please advice.
I have created a measure to calculate quality, can I apply percentile on this measure by keeping Week as filter
I am sorry but you'll have to elaborate on your question a bit more :)
