Loved seeing his layout and hearing his story, he always took time and gave me advice or help on tbe ogrforum when I first switched from N gauge to 3 rail O gauge I had a ton of questions and no local hobby shops that were willing to be helpful to a new guy. Sad he is gone......Thanks Marty, I appreciated all the help😉👍
What in incredible layout! My mouth dropped when he said that Tom Groff was a great friend of his. I also spotted one of the Choo Choo Barn box trucks that Tom decaled at 12:15 in the video. I work for the CCB so it is so cool to see Tom's work throughout other layouts.
Another teriffic film with an outstanding layout. I grew up not far from South Station...the model of this building is spot on. Guys like Marty come around once in a lifetime and are very much admired. Thank You 👍👍👍
Marty was the best. Wonderful work on his own layout and he would help all of us if you asked. I was one who asked. He helped me build my own layout. I will always remember him.
Thank you so much for posting this. I have seen photos of his overhead catenary, and they have been very inspiring for me. I've never seen video of his layout in action, until now. Thank you!
@@kendrawatkins8290 Glad you enjoyed the video, Kendra. How about sending some pictures of your basement layout to _O Gauge Railroading_ magazine editor Allan Miller? His email is: editor@ogaugerr.com.
The steam and diesel locos drew power their from the center rail. The electric locomotives with pantographs drew their power from the overhead wire. They did not have power pickup rollers on the bottom.

Amazing
I lived I Readville growing up my Dad built a small layout in the basement. Milwaukee GP 9 set.
Did Marty's locos draw power from the catenary or from the third rail?

Sure miss his layout.
