People have no idea of the power of "the dance before the Lord". NO IDEA ! in the 1960s we introduced it to our Church during the Charismatic Movement. We were mocked, but we continued. Soon, hundreds began to visit, get born again, healed, set free, praising God in the dance. Still powerful for a Church willing to "step out and dance before the Lord"
I have played and sang this many times over the years in our little church. Totally Blessed by singing it. Remember going to see them twice. Wonderfull praise in those days. Thank you for posting it.
I first heatd this song at the Cameron familys church celebration in Peterhead, Scotland in 1976. Beautiful church services from when I was 9 years old, we travelled up 14hrs from Manchester. Nobody danced to this like brother Louie the retired fisherman from Fraserborough, he was in his late 50's but you'd never think it when you saw him move 😃👍.
Wonderful memories Mike, I too went to see them a couple of times as they toured England with Roy Turner. Also had brother Louie come to our church in North Yorkshire on many occasions. What a bundle of joy was he. One of his favourite sayings was Waiting for the Shout and he sang many oldies like Sinking Sands and Let your anchor hold. Can hear him now. Praise was so good then. Peterhead was turned upside down by them and the Bible school produced many wonderful ministers too. There is still one church in Manchester (Bethany Family Worship center in Little Hulton, Worsley) which is run by Bill and Sue Davidson who still sing some of those old choruses. They both went to Peterhead Bible school and worked with the camerons. Praise like that is thin on the ground today sadly.
@@derickpearson1078 Great memories. It's a small world, you mentioning Sue Eden as she was, her family attended our church 10+ years before she left for bible school. The Upper Room Christian Fellowship in Altrincham, you may know of it. I'm based in Manila, Philippines for the past 5 years, my cousin Chrissy Hailes has a ministry for 30+ years out here in Zambales, I get to visit her occasionally for good ministry.
@@mikeheap7978 How lovely to hear from you Mike. It is at times as you say a small world, or perhaps we live in a big one??? Yes Sue EDEN as you said she was, is a powerful minister of Gods word. I am glad that you know of her. I remember too that many of the songs we sang and still do sing were written by her Dad Walter. He wrote many with Roy Turner as well if my memory serves me well. We had some fabulous ministry in those days. We still do but it does not seem the same with many pulpits not preaching the true word, especially here in the UK which is almost certainly a different place to where we were in the early 1960s onwards. There is plenty of ministry and some of it Big but one must have the gift of discernment before being committed to or supporting it. I know the Phgillippines is a big place but also in the mid 1960s to early 1980s we supported Valley Road church at Northallerton where there was some wonderful ministry from a Preacher called George breckon. At that time his daughter Gillian married David Nellist (Sams son) and he (David) started some work out there. We also funded a young lady called Dorothy Jackson. She did a lot of work in the Phillippines and started a small church work out there. Sadly some years later Valley Road withdrew the support for her (we never knew why) and she came home. Did you or have you heard of her? Next time I speak to Sue, I will tell her we have spoken via mail.I would think she would be pleased to hear how you are doing. Bill and Sue have ministered all over the world but concentrated on Ghana and Togo for many years establishing big (in number) churches out there. Sadly they both have had Major health problems over the last few years but both continue to minister every week. Both had life threatening events and both are on heavy medication but never the less, they continue to Praise the Lord with all that they have. Their eldest daughter Elizabeth has just this year taken the lead as Pastor to ease the workload on Bill and Sue but you cannot stop them, they still continue weekly. They do a tremendous outdoor food delivery and charity work covering 100s of homes. Bless them. They are Live on Facebook every Sunday 10:30 am. Good to hear your cousin Chrissy Hales has a ministry in Zambales. That will no doubt be a blessing to you. Is that ministry on the net at all? Thank you for your communication and the information you provided. It has blessed us her. Blessings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We Loved them David, saw them a couple of times, even bought the LP. As you know we even sang this when I played it in our church after all those years. Good days.
This group came through upstate New York When I was a kid in the late 60's early 70's made a big difference in my life. still sing their songs. I Have 2 Of their LP's
I was privileged to be a part of the Cameron Family Team (Alex, Mabel And family) who ministered and travelled throughout the eastern seaboard of the USA, New York, Pennsylvania , New England states etc etc.. in the late 1960’s and throughout the 1970’s.. We had awesome praise and worship meetings and the Holy Ghost will set your feet a’dancing was one of our favourites along with Joy, Joy, Joy, in my heart is ringing... These songs and many many more are available on CD from the following website ... glorypeople.org/roy-turner-and-the-camerons-cds
I was a teenager when I first heard this song. I believe it was at Cathedral Light in Selma California . Had to be late 70s . Loved it tech and love it now still
AWESOME-- Love this-- My MOM would have loved seeing this- She just Passed at spry age of 90 !! We were US Missionaries and she played Accordion- :-) We loved these songs- I have the Revival SONG Song book in front of me right now!!
I'm watching the evening news of the days worldly events, and this song starts in my mind. I haven't heard it in decades. Thank You Jesus for reminding me of The Joy of The Lord!
I was so happy to find this on youtube. I first saw the Cameron Family many, many years back on PTL. This was my very favorite of their songs. Tonight, in church, we sang the chorus. After church, we were reminiscing about the song, all the verses, and the Cameron Family. What a blessing to find this on here when I got home. Blessings to you all for your music and ministry through the years.
I love this song also. It brings back memories of when the Cameron Family came to Sunnyslope Christian Center in Hollister, California back in the early 80's.
Thank you for sharing this!!! i had looked all over for this song. I had 2 of their albums but this song was not on it. My Grandma Evan and Aunt Isy were from Scotland and they just loved this song and so did my mom. It is our heritage
Remember your group coming to Bible Deliverance Temple in Augusta GA MANY MANY years ago....Pastored by Brother H.K.McKnight...He has since gone on to his heavenly home... his son and wife are the Pastors now!!!..The chorus of "Dancing Heart" jumps into my mind many times since then...and "Gets my FEET to dancing and gives me a "Dancing Heart"!!!
Wow. I am so glad I found You guys. When I was a kid my mother Katherine and father Alex Bugland would take me to see the Cameron family every time they came into town. I think we had every LP record and a few or the 45s. My youngest memory is sitting behind their drum set with the drummer after a performance.
Learned this one from Sister Radiance Rodway in the 70's on her tour to Canada, in a Beverly Foursquare Church in Edmonton. Very prophetic now in 2016.

I’ve always believed God marvellously created us to dance and gave us rhythm to do so.
