As we've seen with Chara, the knife symbolizes a very deep and extreme desire to kill, and is by far the most powerful weapon in the game. But I don't know if that carries over to Deltarune's world, and I don't even think Darkners are the same species as Monsters. Who really knows until the next game comes out.

But in Susie and Ralsei's eyes the player _is_ Kris and has never done anything to harm them, as soon as the real Kris came out he said he doesn't have friends (ouch for Susie) and tried to kill them. So we don't really know what he's protecting them from because we haven't done anything to hurt them. Maybe it was his survival instincts kicking in?

This is very interesting since we (the player) can only control the vessel's body but not its original mind which is chosen by Kris the vessel (the "choices don't matter" kicks in). And it is getting more mysterious because we don't know what the vessel is doing when the player doesn't continue to play the game. -it will be cool if I can fight myself in the next chapter-

There are ways around annihilation even with the RESET ability... as long as enough people retain memories from previous reloads. For example, repeated Genocide timelines could be prevented in Undertale if Sans barricaded the exit from the ruins each time the timeline reset. Those doors are the only way in or out of the ruins from within The Underground. Block those off, and The Players can restart as many times as they want, but it won't make any difference. It'd be like going from playing a full game to playing a demo.
Why does everyone make Kris a psycho wtf... I think the reason Kris was holding a knife at the end of the chapter was a threat to the PLAYER. The soul, that controled them. That doesn't mean they're evil

When I am at school, I have no control over the actions I take that involves socializing. I am aware I need to talk to people yet words can barely leave my mouth as a soft whisper nobody listens to. If Kris also has this problem, being seen as a weird, outcast, silent kid, it makes sense how when the player takes control of their body, they go insane. They were already losing control of part of their life and being aware that you have lost the control of even your body and your mind, makes them want to have an impact on the world, to convince themselves that they are still in control and have the power to make a decision. Maybe that's why they go into a murderous state, the desperation to make a difference by their own decisions in the world is so immense that they lose their sanity.

Here is something I observed, Kris didn’t even try to attack at first. He stood there, waiting for the others to make a move. I think he was more focused on escape than fighting. I think Kris tried to intimidate them into getting out of his way. If he intended to cause death, he would’ve attacked first. Instead, Susie attacked first and Kris responded by slashing. Especially since Susie almost chopped his head off.
My theory: I believe the true Kris was himself when he attacked Susie and Ralsei! Of course attacking has (mostly) a bad intent, but he didn't attack because he wanted to hurt them, but because he didn't know how to help himself. He was afraid! Afraid that he loses control again and also to look Ralsei and Susie in the eye. He thinks that everything in his life was just a lie and that he hadn't made friends with them, but us. We player (or maybe a demon) controlled Kris throughout the game. His decisions never counted! His choices don't matter... When Kris cried, he wanted to scream for help. He was afraid of losing control and not being himself anymore... He also said that this isn't his soul because this is OUR soul which controlled his body (vessel)! At the begin of the game, a voice said that this is our soul, which will be in a vessel. Kris should be problably our vessel in which our soul is in it! Ralsei and Susie noticed his cry for help, but ... It hadn't helped. Of course, they only did what they thought was right for the moment, but they confused the real Kris with us! Even Susie and Ralsei don't know (anymore) who the true Kris ever was... But the real question is... Did they even had the chance to know him...? Poor Kris... Well, it's just a theory :) ! What do you think about it? Btw. This comic dub is amazing! 💜
Ok guys, if your confused: In game theory, the theory says that in the end of the game where Kris throws a soul (the players soul) in the bird cage, the original Kris gets her senses back. Because we as the player is controlling Kris. So when she threw our soul in the cage, the original Kris got back. In this video it's describing how Kris lost the players soul for a breif second and the Kris with the knife was the real one. When the players soul was given back to Kris, the player got full control again after Kris woke up. That's why it said "Device Connected." Did this help?

Ok, Kris in the entire game that you see them (Except the end where they throw you(The player) into a birdcage) is possessed by you(The player). Kris is insanely confused in the comic about why they were possessed and went slightly crazed by pain ( and confusion).
Me narrating be like: Two people fighting for dominates over one body... KRIS the real owner of the body. YOU the fake owner of the body. Two completely different fighting for dominate for the body. Maybe chara in undertale is the same, thats why they snap and make the genocide run, and end up misunderstood. Deltarune can become the key from clearing this misunderstandment by setting chara as kris. or maybe, since deltarune was released after undertale, the other world that chara speaks of is deltarune, and they really moved on to the next. Partner... you the player, and chara. Kris contacting gaster. So chara, the main chara, rebels. "Since when were you the one in control?" (much like sans can enter "shortcuts", maybe some degree of control can be adquired over time...) But in the end, they aren't the ones in control, but the player. Their choices, dont matter.
This comic nails perfeclty what is happening to undertale, i think. Chara/Frisk, being the original owner of the body, probably frisk is chara's reincarnation. The player, being the ones that control them. "Chara", the personality that appears from both Chara and the player trying to be a personality in the world.
If the Kris that's the hero in the game isn't the REAL Kris, then...who is the one WE know? Could it be that the Kris we know was adopted and the REAL Kris died a long time ago? Maybe that's what happened. Hmm...I wonder... still...this comic was well done, I give it 5 STARS! GOOD JOB! X3
The soul they used to stabilize the fountain was the 'player's soul' and not Kris's soul. When the player plays the game they 'take over' Kris and, in a way, kidnap his body and rob him of any control over himself. In the comic, once the players 'soul' has been removed from Kris's body, the real Kris is shown and has control again as he tries to refuse the player's control.
While i do feel sorry for kris and the fact we are controlling his life but i swear in sigmar name that if he hurt our new friends just to spite me, i will retake control of his life but we kidda stuck in a cage at the moment

We've seen before what happens when a living being doesn't have a soul. Why should Kris be any different than Flowey and Chara? It makes sense that they become...psycho you know. I don't think that's the "real Kris", the same way I don't think Flowey is "the real" Asriel.
Man this hurts on a personal level; me having two personalities and blacking out for a full day only to come too to things around the apartment being clean and other stuff I feel for Kris so much in this. I empathise with "Knife Kris" so much.
Kris was always being controlled and trapped, not having a will of his own, he was a pawn in a game. The soul, it's what the "player" controls, with the soul in Kris, Kris is controlled. This...this *tørtürë* Drove Kris insane. By the time he got the soul out, he started relentlessly attacking people, his lust to be in control drove him to his edge. When he actually realized what he was doing, he... He cried. He didn't want to hurt the ones he grew close to, the ones he cared about. *Tøö låtë* The soul was put right back into his body. His grasp at freedom... Gone.

Undertale where the player controlling frisk leads them to genocide or the neutral ending instead of the ‘true end.’ The player is evil. In deltarune the player is a force of good making Kris become the good guy, the hero that saves everyone when it’s far more likely that their kind off their kilter.
Without the players SOUL, Kris can be themself again. The introverted suicidal kid with no friends... But we postponed Kris doing what they did during the events of Deltarune. It was us who woke up that morning, wen to school, got bullied, went to the Dark World and made new friends. At the end, when Kris throws the SOUL into the rusty bird cage, it can still be controlled. And Kris looks at us. Some fourth wall breaking shit right there.
The soul is not theirs, but ours. We are controlling Kris and they just want to be free cuz they are tired of it. Soo the imposter here was us, not them. So I think that the beginning of Deltarune, we get to create a vessel. I think that vessel was ours,but we used Kris as a vessel instead of the one that we made. (Thats why our name is Kris, not the one we named it.) So the real Kris just wants revenge by killing everyone we love...? (just a thought.)

When I am at school, I have no control over the actions I take that involves socializing. I am aware I need to talk to people yet words can barely leave my mouth as a soft whisper nobody listens to. If Kris also has this problem, being seen as a weird, outcast, silent kid, it makes sense how when the player takes control of their body, they go insane. They were already losing control of part of their life and being aware that you have lost the control of even your body and your mind, makes them want to have an impact on the world, to convince themselves that they are still in control and have the power to make a decision. Maybe that's why they go into a murderous state, the desperation to make a difference by their own decisions in the world is so immense that they lose their sanity.

Here is something I observed, Kris didn’t even try to attack at first. He stood there, waiting for the others to make a move. I think he was more focused on escape than fighting. I think Kris tried to intimidate them into getting out of his way. If he intended to cause death, he would’ve attacked first. Instead, Susie attacked first and Kris responded by slashing. Especially since Susie almost chopped his head off.

My theory:
I believe the true Kris was himself when he attacked Susie and Ralsei! Of course attacking has (mostly) a bad intent, but he didn't attack because he wanted to hurt them, but because he didn't know how to help himself. He was afraid! Afraid that he loses control again and also to look Ralsei and Susie in the eye. He thinks that everything in his life was just a lie and that he hadn't made friends with them, but us. We player (or maybe a demon) controlled Kris throughout the game. His decisions never counted! His choices don't matter... When Kris cried, he wanted to scream for help. He was afraid of losing control and not being himself anymore... He also said that this isn't his soul because this is OUR soul which controlled his body (vessel)! At the begin of the game, a voice said that this is our soul, which will be in a vessel. Kris should be problably our vessel in which our soul is in it! Ralsei and Susie noticed his cry for help, but ... It hadn't helped. Of course, they only did what they thought was right for the moment, but they confused the real Kris with us! Even Susie and Ralsei don't know (anymore) who the true Kris ever was...
But the real question is... Did they even had the chance to know him...?

Ok guys, if your confused:
In game theory, the theory says that in the end of the game where Kris throws a soul (the players soul) in the bird cage, the original Kris gets her senses back. Because we as the player is controlling Kris. So when she threw our soul in the cage, the original Kris got back.
In this video it's describing how Kris lost the players soul for a breif second and the Kris with the knife was the real one. When the players soul was given back to Kris, the player got full control again after Kris woke up. That's why it said "Device Connected."

Just remember that if jevil pheraps contacted gaster and believes the world to be a game, sans also did the same and seems depressed about it, if the "select your vessel" thing is gaster contacting Kris, Kris might be like them and realize that someone is controlling them and that these aren't their actions.
Maybe chara in undertale is the same, thats why they snap and make the genocide run, and end up misunderstood. Deltarune can become the key from clearing this misunderstandment by setting chara as kris. or maybe, since deltarune was released after undertale, the other world that chara speaks of is deltarune, and they really moved on to the next.

The soul they used to stabilize the fountain was the 'player's soul' and not Kris's soul. When the player plays the game they 'take over' Kris and, in a way, kidnap his body and rob him of any control over himself. In the comic, once the players 'soul' has been removed from Kris's body, the real Kris is shown and has control again as he tries to refuse the player's control.
While i do feel sorry for kris and the fact we are controlling his life but i swear in sigmar name that if he hurt our new friends just to spite me, i will retake control of his life but we kidda stuck in a cage at the moment

We've seen before what happens when a living being doesn't have a soul. Why should Kris be any different than Flowey and Chara? It makes sense that they become...psycho you know. I don't think that's the "real Kris", the same way I don't think Flowey is "the real" Asriel.

In deltarune the player is a force of good making Kris become the good guy, the hero that saves everyone when it’s far more likely that their kind off their kilter.
Without the players SOUL, Kris can be themself again. The introverted suicidal kid with no friends...
But we postponed Kris doing what they did during the events of Deltarune. It was us who woke up that morning, wen to school, got bullied, went to the Dark World and made new friends.
At the end, when Kris throws the SOUL into the rusty bird cage, it can still be controlled.
