Well... you have a few options. This one used a strut that replaces the mono-shock, underneath the seat, to hardtail/lower the bike. In this case the bike was actually a bit too low. It bottomed in a curve once, that had a small bump in it, and I almost lost control. I also couldn't go over speed bumps. There is another option to lower the back end that leaves you with some suspension... I can't put links in comments so Google "scootworks vlx 600 lowering kit" to see your options.
That's just the factory pipes with the mufflers cut off, exhaust tips from autozone and pipewrap. You'll have to rejet the carb but there are kits for that. The look and sound great with very little work compared to the payoff.
At this point I can't even remember what size the bars were. But didn't have to go with longer cables. I would not recommend those bars though. They created pretty gnarly wheel flop. If you do go with something like that... Get with someone who can help you out with the geometry to see if you could mitigate the wheel flop by positioning them better.

Why leave the rear pegs?
Justin Neyrinck I took them off but it looked weirder to me without them. I can't remember now what it was... It just didn't look right.
