    I have the exact same fairing on a '21 RK. Didn't have the issues w/ fitment. For cold weather, I use a piece of pipe insulation, the soft round spongy type, worked up to the front between the nacelle and the fairing......it's not noticeable, and cuts out pretty much all the wind. I have a 9" Freedom Shield with the recurve, no buffeting. You probably noticed, the fairing isn't a whole lot heavier than the stock windshield. Love it! Thanks for the vid!

      I will give the insulation a shot, thats sounds like it would work good. I did recently buy a set of fork mounted wind deflectors, and that really help with the buffering. And they dont look bad in black. Thanks for the comment and watching.

    I believe you should of loosened the acorn nuts to the lights first. Just a tad,just enough to work the windshield in easily. Then once it’s in place you tighten the acorn nuts up. I thinks that is kind of dangerous to assum it just kind of half a** slides in there and think the wind won’t shake it loose. I’d look into it a little better . 👍

      It's in there so tight I've never tried to remove it. It's not loose at all.

    Try a pair of fork mounted wind deflectors. I have some on my Heritage and the work great.

    So I'm new to the cruiser/touring bike world.
    I've ridden sports bikes for 30 years and just recently decided to buy a cruiser. One of the first things I noticed about the difference in cruisers and sports bikes is "helmet buffering." In all of my years of riding, I've never experienced "buffering" until I've ridden a cruiser, and I'm having a hard time understanding the science behind it. It's INCREDIBLY annoying, and I have a huge (ugly) windshield that I heard would help, but I still get the buffering.
    It's odd to me that buffering seems to be so common, yet at 50 years old and over 30 years of riding, I've never heard of it.
    I refuse to believe that riders just simply deal with it. I've tried fork deflectors, short windshields, tall windshields, batwings, taller seats, lower seats, at least 7 or 8 different helmets.....I don't get it.

      I put fork deflectors on it, and it helped out a lot. Not totally, but it definitely has a sweet spot like a pocket I can get in where the wind just goes right over me. At a certain speed, like 60- 70 mph, anything over 80, i get wind buffetting, but it's not that bad, but I don't know how it is on any other bike besides a cruiser. It might be the helmet.

    What is the dimension on the inside of fairing .

    You need to put in the medal grommets and you need to rotate your 4” lights and take the visor off the 7” light. Been there, done that.

    Would you buy the fairing again after your experience with it? I thought about going from a windshield to a fairing but I was afraid it wouldn’t be worth it. Thanks

      I would buy it again. It does help reduce the amount of wind and buffering. Its on my bike for good unless it's really really hot.

      Thanks for your reply! Maybe I’ll get one after all.

    What's the total height (from top of the headlight to the top of the Klock Werks shield), please? I'm about to go the same route and the stock shield is pretty much the perfect height for me, but can't decide between the 6.5" & 8.5" Flare choices.

    Hi I hooked um my fairing and it has a stereo. Not sure why it wont shut off and kills my battery. Any suggestions?

      My best friend got one with the stereo back in June and had the same issue with the battery. He took it to one of our local stereo stores. They put in an on/off switch and put in a small battery that keeps his stereo preset memories from disappearing.

    Did you ever find a different way to get it on instead of hammering it down? Mine came with washers to replace the rubber grommet but same thing can’t get it all the way down

    • @WVhillDweller
      @WVhillDweller  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I've just left it on since I put it on. I thought about taking a drimmil and carving out some more space, to be able to take it on and off more easily.

    What about the gap between the headlight and fairing?

    • @WVhillDweller
      @WVhillDweller  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a 1/2 inch gap, but it is barely noticeable.

    You just need a taller windshield

    • @SaltyPatriotHD

      Yes! I am getting the 10" clear for mine. People can make grandpa jokes all they want, I'm not much on eating bugs and buffering.
