As my husband said, the excess water may be hard on everyone for their houses, but after two years of drought, this is mother nature’s way of restoring life to the land. It was sweet the way the dogs were running around the pond like they wanted to ride the Argo with daddy.😂❤
Lester, you are absolutely right!! There is a huge difference between a pelican and a egret. They don’t even look similar. I hope sunny weather is ahead for you guys. (Especially Jami) 😘😘❤❤
Are Egrets some times called Cow Birds. We have white birds here on the gulf that turn slightly pink from eating shrimp. People think they are flamingos.

When I see Stella and Christmas, healthy, happy, loved, and living a beautiful life when I know darned well they both had no chance when you found them, it means everything to me. All of The pups Christmas birthed would have had no chance at life, but for your intervention. When I think of Carl who was so defeated when you took him in, and I see the beautiful life you’ve given him, it’s everything. Annabelle in grief over watching her mother die but is now loved, healthy and happy, it’s everything. Gary who I know darned well would have died, but now I know he will live a long, healthy life full of love and joy, it’s everything. My husband and I have a granddaughter who lives in Georgia. They had so much flooding due to the rain in the RV park where they live that they lost the trailer they were living in. They have 3 adults and 3 children (one of which is only about 7 months old) living in the trailer. Her father-in-law who lives in Florida went and bought them a new trailer and brought it to them so they’d have a place to live. They lost a lot of their belongings though they were able to salvage some clothing, and a few other necessities. So glad her father-in-law was able to help them
After 4 days of clouds and a lot rain really helps you to appreciate the warm and blue skies even more. The pond footage was so relaxing as you took the Argo across it. Loved the reflection of the barn on the still water. The dogs were really enjoying themselves running and playing in the water. Nice music in the background. Thanks Lester. PS your right foolish idea about the canoe and the river. 😮 Be safe ❤😊❤

It's crazy to think that just a few months ago we were all celebrating that you had been able to fill the pond from the river, and now mother nature has decided to top it up and then some! So so glad you didn't go kayaking on the river while it was in Spate. Used to be a level 2 coach, and white water kayaker, and after paddling ourselves in grade 4/5 rivers in Austria and Germany, I know from experience how bad under currants can be. My hubby used to run white water safety courses for kayaker and boy it was shattering as a guinea pig to be rescued by those on the course, even under controlled circumstances, it was slightly scary how exhausted you become so quickly trying to swim against currents ect.... Be safe, Jami and the animals need you!! ❤❤❤

Egats are also called Storks. The difference between Egats (storks) and pelicans , one thing is the neck area. Pelicans have a thing that looks like a bag. Storks have a longer beak. Storks will stand on one leg to keep in warmth and Pelicans will not stand on one leg. Wow, how full of water everything is. I pray for the ones who have flooding, especially the animals. Tex just cracks me up. The dogs are so cute following you around.

With your leak in the pond, the water is going down. I would say maybe about a month before it goes back down like it was before I wish you could find the leak and stop at once and for all happy you got sunshine. God bless and have a beautiful day.❤😊
I wouldn't be surprised if Naughty Boy aka Tex doesn't push the kayak back into the pond lol. He will probably wait till next Thursday to do it if it's left out that long. Anything to amuse himself, you just have to love Naughty Boy and all his antics. Hopefully the weather is fine for the next 10 days, here in Melbourne, Australia we haven't really had a great summer. We have had plenty of rain and the nights have been cold, some of the trees are already changing colour that's how mixed up the weather is. I hope you are having a great weekend. God bless.
Lester, that vision of full pond to spillway level must be ultimately satisfying. After so desperately empty state at worst point last summer, when one almost lost hope of ever seeing it filled. Then regaining some hope with the successful, if expensive pumping being successful, to be followed with sad realisation that water holding was short of necessary requirement. Let us all keep faith, that given time, the pond will get significantly better retension properties, as now has been shown that good rain can fill it to max capacity, giving greater confidence given time and patience all will get better. ❤❤❤❤❤
The rising of the rivers is one reason I never want to live so close to water. My parents had brought a small cabin with a boat and boathouse when I was 5. The lake had flooded a few years before we bought. Because of the amount of snow, they had a few tractors pull up the cabins that were the easiest up this little hill. Our cabin was now at the top of this part of the hill and where are cabin had been, our boathouse now was. It was pulled up at least 25 feet. That scared me because the water never went down in all the years that we had that cabin. My ex bought a house in his small town where he grew up, across the street from a river that floods in other areas of it and he has a small lake behind the house. This is something I never would have bought when we were together. The house had no basement and he had the house lifted and done during the pandemic. I can only hope it doesn’t flood because our oldest adult son stays with him. And yes those are pelicans. Even at a distance their beaks are very noticeable. Just because the beaks are not full and extended down is probably why people assume they are not. It’s a pouch people. 🤦♀️

I'm very thankful that you will be getting several days are very sunny dry days and hopefully the waters will recede soon enough. Mother nature can be spectacularly beautiful but unfortunately so very destructive. LHL is looking beautiful,the colours of blue sky and the green the spectacular pond. The sun brought out such joy in the dogs they were having a wonderful time in the pond and i hope that water level takes a while to leak away. How scary to think how a few days rain can totally change people's lives and you can't fight nature just do what you can and hopefully rebuild and go on! I can't imagine how seeing that water rise around all the propertys and just having to wait it out must take a toll on you and the familys emotions and fears having to go through the floods again! Tex's new ladies seem to be filling out a little and Tex is looking as majesty as ever. Hopefully the sun will dry out All the properties and work and life can get back to it's usual crazy norm! You said the River rose 70 ft because that was how long the hose had to be. That comment isn’t quite right. The 70 feet I think was more horizontal than vertical. However , you may be right. I can’t remember if you had a vertical drop of 70 feet to the shore of the river. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m happy to see LHL pond is full. That’s sad for folks who couldn’t get their stuff out. 💔. I lived in fear where I lived for over 11 years. The creek was right behind the house and my friend who owned it lived there over 20 years. Once while she was there it flooded under the house. The next time it flooded inside the house. She said it was like you opened the windows and said come on in. A neighbor told me he saw it, and it would have been as high as the bottom of the windshield on my Dodge mini van. The one time it flooded for us, it came up past the house, but moved a very heavy fence post that 3 adults couldn’t budge. You could see where the water went because all the grass was laid down in that direction. I miss living there, but I don’t miss keeping an eye on the creek.
Evening Lester wow that’s a lot of rain with no where to go especially with the land already so went. The pond looks so good hope it doesn’t go down to quick. Such a shame to see the RV park flooded and RVs looked ruined. So pleased to hear the floods have receded at Morrow Hill must be a huge relief for you all. I feel so bad for all the people who are flooded. I grew up just 3 houses from a small creek. After all the development north of us, causing terrible flooding in our little creek. It was horrible. First time was 1974, then in 1979, 1980 through1985 when the county finally cut the creek wider and deeper.
Prayers to all that are flooded. I wouldn't trust the river current to swift. It's good you are so high up at LHL. Flooding is going on everywhere let's hope it's over. Great the pond up let's hope this year it seals.

A Pelicans- Their beaks can hold more than their bellies can, but I don’t know how the hell-it- can!! 😂😂

I wouldn't be surprised if Naughty Boy aka Tex doesn't push the kayak back into the pond lol. He will probably wait till next Thursday to do it if it's left out that long. Anything to amuse himself, you just have to love Naughty Boy and all his antics. Hopefully the weather is fine for the next 10 days, here in Melbourne, Australia we haven't really had a great summer. We have had plenty of rain and the nights have been cold, some of the trees are already changing colour that's how mixed up the weather is. I hope you are having a great weekend. God bless.

Lester, that vision of full pond to spillway level must be ultimately satisfying. After so desperately empty state at worst point last summer, when one almost lost hope of ever seeing it filled.
Then regaining some hope with the successful, if expensive pumping being successful, to be followed with sad realisation that water holding was short of necessary requirement.
Let us all keep faith, that given time, the pond will get significantly better retension properties, as now has been shown that good rain can fill it to max capacity, giving greater confidence given time and patience all will get better.

The rising of the rivers is one reason I never want to live so close to water. My parents had brought a small cabin with a boat and boathouse when I was 5. The lake had flooded a few years before we bought. Because of the amount of snow, they had a few tractors pull up the cabins that were the easiest up this little hill. Our cabin was now at the top of this part of the hill and where are cabin had been, our boathouse now was. It was pulled up at least 25 feet. That scared me because the water never went down in all the years that we had that cabin. My ex bought a house in his small town where he grew up, across the street from a river that floods in other areas of it and he has a small lake behind the house. This is something I never would have bought when we were together. The house had no basement and he had the house lifted and done during the pandemic. I can only hope it doesn’t flood because our oldest adult son stays with him. And yes those are pelicans. Even at a distance their beaks are very noticeable. Just because the beaks are not full and extended down is probably why people assume they are not. It’s a pouch people. 🤦♀️
The pond is beautiful and hopefully the high level will help seal it. It was neat seeing the Argo in such a full body of water!

Mother nature can be spectacularly beautiful but unfortunately so very destructive. LHL is looking beautiful,the colours of blue sky and the green the spectacular pond. The sun brought out such joy in the dogs they were having a wonderful time in the pond and i hope that water level takes a while to leak away. How scary to think how a few days rain can totally change people's lives and you can't fight nature just do what you can and hopefully rebuild and go on! I can't imagine how seeing that water rise around all the propertys and just having to wait it out must take a toll on you and the familys emotions and fears having to go through the floods again! Tex's new ladies seem to be filling out a little and Tex is looking as majesty as ever. Hopefully the sun will dry out All the properties and work and life can get back to it's usual crazy norm! You said the River rose 70 ft because that was how long the hose had to be. That comment isn’t quite right. The 70 feet I think was more horizontal than vertical. However , you may be right. I can’t remember if you had a vertical drop of 70 feet to the shore of the river. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m happy to see LHL pond is full. That’s sad for folks who couldn’t get their stuff out. 💔. I lived in fear where I lived for over 11 years. The creek was right behind the house and my friend who owned it lived there over 20 years. Once while she was there it flooded under the house. The next time it flooded inside the house. She said it was like you opened the windows and said come on in. A neighbor told me he saw it, and it would have been as high as the bottom of the windshield on my Dodge mini van. The one time it flooded for us, it came up past the house, but moved a very heavy fence post that 3 adults couldn’t budge. You could see where the water went because all the grass was laid down in that direction. I miss living there, but I don’t miss keeping an eye on the creek.
The dogs running and playing in the pond is fun to watch. The river is beautiful, but that flow looks strong..

Evening Lester wow that’s a lot of rain with no where to go especially with the land already so went. The pond looks so good hope it doesn’t go down to quick. Such a shame to see the RV park flooded and RVs looked ruined. So pleased to hear the floods have receded at Morrow Hill must be a huge relief for you all. I feel so bad for all the people who are flooded. I grew up just 3 houses from a small creek. After all the development north of us, causing terrible flooding in our little creek. It was horrible. First time was 1974, then in 1979, 1980 through1985 when the county finally cut the creek wider and deeper.

Prayers to all that are flooded. I wouldn't trust the river current to swift. It's good you are so high up at LHL. Flooding is going on everywhere let's hope it's over. Great the pond up let's hope this year it seals.
