Yes!! Others who like PL Season 2 better than 1 as well!! Looks like a lot of potentially great games coming this year. Great video!
Nice to see Arkeis get mentioned. I am also looking forward to this. One of my 1st KS.
These are my most anticipated:
- Tekhenu (love Teotihuacan and Tascini designs)
- Beez (looks like a game the family can learn with enough depth for more hardcore players like myself)
- Alma Mater (love Coimbra and the design team behind it)
- Golem (I enjoy medium heavy euros, it has Luciani’s name on the box, and boasts a really unique theme)
- Viscounts of the West Kingdom (the combination of mechanics such as the rondel and deck building look really interesting combined together and I enjoy them in Great Western Trail)
- Oath (looks like a unique gaming experience and different take on the legacy idea. I also love Kyle Ferrin’s art.)
- Paris (I love Michael Kiesling’s designs)
- Renature (same as above plus the interest idea of dominos used in area control)

Definitely with all of you on Sleeping Gods - neither Near and Far nor Above and Below worked for me, but this sounds so good - can't wait! Also really looking forward to 1001 Odysseys, Oathsworn: Into the Deepwood (if it makes a 2020 release), and Pandemic Legacy Season 3 (same).
Brian Schoner I’m not sure about 1001 Odysseys being delivered this year. Their last update gave me the impression that 2021 is more likely for delivery
I'm pretty new to boardgames beyond big box store offerings but I got pretty involved in Gloomhaven this year. I have to say, my #1 for 2020, which will probably be my first larger game purchase will be EUTHIA - Torment of Resurrection. Looks pretty cool, waiting for the Kickstarter in May. Need some more videos in English, currently we have Facebook posts and Czech videos.

In the hospital and this video has been a great distraction. So You've Been Eaten has been my number one anticipated game since it was announced. The BGG description alone sells this game.

31:00 Alma Mater Is the University of Bologna (Italy). It's the oldest university in Europe. Coimbra hosts the oldest university of Portugal, and one of the oldest in Europe as well. I think this is the thematic link between the two games.
Dwellings, Tidal Blades, D6, Dice Throne, Merchant's Cove, Etherfields, Icaion, Iwari, Sleeping Gods, and Hour of Need are probably my top 10....in no particular order...leaving out of course the few I've already gotten this year :)

Campaign/Legacy games stress me out because they make me feel like I have to play them so I'm trying to avoid them, the only campaign game I'm getting this year is going to be Bloodborne.

Oddly I'm not enthused about most of these. I do plan on picking up The Crew, backing Ankh, Crusaders expansion. With COVID-19 delaying releases this may end up being a very light year for me. Which I'm ok with! Plenty to play.
FYI: Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out across PS4, XBox, PC, and Stadia, simultaneously, September 17 :-)
All I got for 2020 at this point is my top 8 which has a few I was SHOCKED did not even get mentioned!
1) Tidal Blades - This didn’t make it out in 2019 as planned but still easily the thing I am most excited about! Like a fresh, pretty themed Champions of Midgard type game of worker placement with unique dice!
2) Smartphone, Inc. - Although technically out prior to this year the American release is still coming (via new KS Edition) in earlier part of 2020.
3) Stonemaier’s “CODENAME: Sand” - Don’t know what it is yet but I am usually excited about a new Stonemaier release. Plus the “Sand” name is mysterious and got me extra curious.
4) Tekhenu - Designers of Anachrony and Teotihuacan team up with a game and there is a big obelisk in the middle of the board casting shadows during game phases… sounds good!
5) In Too Deep - Futuristic undercover cops who have to worry about making too many arrests to blow their cover in what is supposedly a pick up and deliver type game? I’m intrigued! Plus Burnt Island has been impressing me lately with their games.
6) Followers - We are gods trying to get most followers while TRAVELING THROUGH TIME! I love that idea again of decisions in the “past” affecting the “future” options.
7) Stonemaier’s “CODENAME: Cape” - Don’t know what it is yet but again.. I am usually excited about a new Stonemaier release. “Cape” name makes me think maybe SUPERHEROS?
8) Artificial Intelligence - An action selection game were we are worried about money, power, and A.I. self replicating the answers to problems civilization did not know existed. Interesting!
Then I am happy for you because Followers is absolutely amazing. Played a full game at Essen and enjoyed it quite a bit. The publisher is a goldmine anyway, lots of great stuff from them!
PS: A.I. won't make it this year I don't think. It's more likely to see ZhanGuo 2nd Edition and Brasil before.

2 games that are worth to mention are the Too Many Bones Splice and Dice and Reichsbusters both arriving in march / april.
my most expected games are My city, The Magnificent and Porto (as they haven't hit retail in NA), Targi expansion, Troyes Dice, Tekhenu, Artificial Intelligence, Paris, Dice Realms and my most anticipated; Castles of Tuscany :)

Lots of games mentioned here that would be in my top ten, and I am not even 100% sure these two games will be 2020 releases, but if Capstone Games releases Imperial Steam (Elmsstadt) from Lignum designer Alexander Huemer and Coffee Traders from Wildcatters designers Rolf Sagel and André Spil, those are the two that top my list!

im w8ing for them too. they will go in KS thisyear but i dont think they will come to us in 2020.

The KS for Dead Reckoning is planned for May 2020, so it seems too optimistic that this will be a 2020 release, rather 2021.

Personally I think Undaunted is a poorly designed wargame, it needs a major rework.
For me, the biggest new game is Mariposas. But even that game is more of a "I want to buy it but I want to see more playthroughs of it before I do". Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective: Baker Street Irregulars also is big for me as my group is down to 3 or 4 new ones left on the most recent one. Past that... just really expansions are what interests me, Wingspan: Oceania, Villainous: Perfectly Wretched and Sagrada: Life

I really hope that FFG puts out a big box to hold everything in Marvel Champions. I am very much in love with the game itself and its incredibly economical compared to something like Arkham Horror LCG where I find it to be a massive money sink. I was wondering if Pandemic Legacy 3 will be on anyone's list as there is literally no information on this.
As much as we loved Season 1, Season 2 for us was the perfect game. It had so much more and though it starts slow and weird if when you come of playing the 'normal' pandemic style game of season 1, it amps up fast and the journey was amazing.
We are really hoping to see season 3 out this year. it's been too long.
We hope at least to see another co-op full legacy game in the scale of the Pandemic (S1,S2) and Gloomhaven, though sleeping god do seems like very cool even though we prefer a legacy game to make it fresh and diverse overtime.
By the way, it is pronounced as Vai-counts of the West Kingdom
I also came here to tell the US that Viscount is pronounced "VIE-count", not Viz-count.
I would tell the Dice Tower team the same thing, as well. 🙂
And CMON is not pronounced like See-mon either.
@@goodsound4756 CMON isn't technically pronounced like anything; it's an acronym. "See-mon" is just a nickname people gave it.
Andy McGuire Actually it’s the way the company initially insisted that it be called once they switched to the acronym. Now, years later, they have reversed their earlier position and insist it not be called Seemon. At this point I think we all have the right to pronounce it however we feel like pronouncing it.

Interesting how nobody ever mentions the Jasco Buffy game, but everyone loves Horrified. It is a carbon copy reskin of Buffy, but with much less interesting, super-generic, not-scary-at-all characters.

I did not even receive my Tainted Grail yet, so with Corona around the corner (factory closings, delays etc.), you guys are joking if you think it will be delivered this year.
And MvM clearly stated it's 2020 only.
@@LookAtTheBacon If you chose 2 wave shipping, the original date was march, lets, they already said a 3 month delay, and lets account for 3 more months for corona virus, still 2020.
@@adamteece7850 I don't care what the original date was. Their last update for Etherfields (31 January) said delivery to backers will start in early July. They could not hold that for TG and they will not for this one as well. With Corona on top, as I said, it is highly unlikely that you will hold the game in your hands this year. Read a bit on the quarantine situation of many factory workers yourself and you will see. E.g. in the Petersen Games updates on Hyperspace. It's scary.
Pretty much nothing to look forward to, really. KS of 1861/67 is one of the rare ones that I'm aching for. EDIT: Castles of Tuscany is the only game from this list that's interesting atleast a bit.
Waste Knights and Dead Reckoning might be cool, but you're on point. Outside of catching up on Railways of the World stuff, it's only the new edition of Vampire: the Eternal Struggle that has my interest.

Too be honest sounds a bit weaker year than 2020
There are about 1700 games in the bgg database for 2020 so far. Each year for the last decade there have been more games published than the year before, so if that pattern holds there will be 4500+ games published this year. So really we only know about 1/3 of the 2020 releases; still lots to come between gencon and essen etc. Don't give up on 2020 already!

Marvel ..Blah they have made a number of card games over the years and they all end up in the dumpster. Cyberpunk isn't just playstation either it's on multiple platforms including PC. Trudvang..A game with barely a rules set during Kickstarter and one that changed dramatically during the KS to give backers even less info. This one just looks like all show with Lang's name on it sorry. At least you put a solid game on here in sleeping gods.
