My name is Shyvonne (Sha-Von). I'm a mother of 6 amazing kids. I'm currently married, but Hubby and I are separated and live in two separate homes (TMI). I love having a big family and wouldn't trade it for the world. I have 5 daughters and 1 son, ages 20-5. My son is 12 and the twins are 5. First time viewer - I’m a subscriber for life!!! I love how “real” your tutorial is. Many of us don’t have studios or garages to do this type of project. But you made it happen right there in your space despite work, children and pets coming through and everything else that needs to be done to run your household. You’re my hero! Just a hack I found some years ago, when "re upholstering" secure with safety pins instead of staples that way you can wash the fabric and are not really needing outdoor fabric necessarily, as long as you scotchgard.

Ok, disclaimer first, that I'm not trying to discourage you. I go on fb Marketplace, and I see lots of ads where someone is selling an old antique for really cheap. They like to incl. that they bought it for a redo project, and didn't find the time, lol. I hope you do refinish yours though. Nothing like pride of accomplishment, knowing "I did that".
My lady, you sure are an inspiration, more young women should watch this video. I am sure you put many to shame. Some will say they have children and a job so can't be doing ALL THAT. I admire what you're doing because I like to restore rather than throw away. You are truly blessed. Also you're a very good example to your children. Some of them will remember and take from what you're doing into their own lives. Continue sharing. Bless.

Chairs are a booger to hand paint, I feel ya on that! I had 6 chairs with 8 spindles in the back part plus the legs, it took me 2 weeks with table and hutch and chairs. I am so proud of the dining room now! It took a lot out of me with the spindles though. I did a sand, primer coat, two coats of chalk paint and then antique and then polycrilic times 2! I was done, I did the seats in the satin and spindles white so touch ups for days before sealing! Ugh it was a process. I love how yours turned out! Great job!

I absolutely love the rich dark stain on the top with the lighter chalk paint on the rest and chairs too. Every project seems to take 2-3x longer than planned. Lol! Great job!

That's a great idea with the outdoor fabric, especially if you have kids. I would've never thought of it. I did the same thing with my kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them. Sanded and repainted. A great option if you can't afford to replace everything yet.

That is some perseverance with those chairs and all the spindles. I love painting and redoing, but no more with the intricate legs and backs. lol It turned out gorgeous! The fabric matched beautifully! It's one thing to have the vision of how it should look and another to bring it all together. You definitely have that talent to pull it all off.
