Currently researching so we can make cartoons to bring children closer to their roots.
So many Shona descendants are scattered around the world we want to be part of the beautiful identity of being Zimbabwean.
We're following you here now. Great job you're doing 😍😍😍
    So inspiring

Your initiative is very beautiful. I just felt like pointing something out though. Ndau is not Shona. Our constitution used to group it under the Zezuru dialect but removed it. Historical research can show you that Ndau people migrated from the Southern part of South Africa. Some settled in the South-Eastern part of Zimbabwe. Some in Mozambique and some in the central part of Malawi. 🤗❤

@@bethelmasunungure9491 genetically(most) ndau people are actually shona (at least what it means in mordern times) the language has many core shona words(mostly manica dialects and karanga) we have to rember in the past the lines between ethinic groups was very blurry also our history is soo intertwined with ndau people I think it wrong to try seperate us

Hi! I've been doing a lot of research on Shona culture in general over the last year and found a book called "Crafting Identity in Zimbabwe and Mozambique" by Elizabeth MacGonagle. It focuses mainly on the culture and customs of the Ndau people in pre-colonial Zimbabwe.
My favorite thing about it is that it has a section that focuses on "traditional" clothing and hairstyles for both men and women. I am hoping to use this info to start a conversation about Zimbabwean traditional dress in general as I feel we are in need of something of our own that doesn't depend on the culture of other countries (e.g. kitenge from Ghana, ankara from Nigeria etc...). Also check out a book called "Culture and Customs of Zimbabwe" by Oyekan Owomoyela. I found these books online on pdfdrive.com.
