    Based on watching your first video I was so impressed with the quality of your cards and what you were able to do with the printer I bought one for myself. Just wanted you to know I think it's fantastic and I appreciated your help in picking this printer. It simply does a beautiful job. Thank you and keep doing videos.

    Few tips:
    1. The max gsm is likely to be photo media rather than actual “card”. Photo papers with heavy coatings tend to be thinner and more flexible so they’ll feed. Thicker cards not so much.
    2. The XP-970 has a user replaceable maintenance box for the main waste ink tank. But borderless printing will slowly fill the platen pad which is not. So limiting use of borderless printing is a good idea.

    Tried a lead - the buckle wouldn’t fit but the dog loved it! Seriously tho, the printer doesn’t miss fits out its dust on the paper that gets the ink then falls off. Keep the printer covered when not in use. Luv your designs!

    Ißm currently in the process to find out what works for refillable cartridges for this printer - it´s not easy. BUT I did manage to find a solution for the maintenance box: You can open it, clean it and then use a resetter that cost around 40 € with shipping to reset the chip on it. When the sponges, that are inside the box, are washed out and dried I can put the box back together, reset the chip and use it over and over again. Now I just have to get the cartridges to work consistently. If you have questions I love to help :)

    Just ordered this while it was on sale for $250. First ever personal photo printer after 10 years of taking pictures. Lol always ordered off like Pictorem with metal or canvas but I figured I’d get me a nice simple one to get into. Excited to print out some personal favorites from throughout the years. Just came in today 😊

    When the paper ramp comes out while printing is the proper way to "retract" it to PUSH it back in ??

    I stumbled on this video because I want to upgrade the printer I use at home. I just have one question though, are you still using this?

    Great job you getting this printer, ME TOO, heehe, It's a bloody great printer for sure. With all your printing, I truly HOPE you are using the CICC sytem with it. It will drop your ink buying costs but literally thousands. I'm thinking with hearing your home business, you'd have to be using the CISS sytem. I used my printer for my TAFFE Colledge courses and printing at home would save me $$$$$'s over the life of the printer. This is my 4th printer I've had, just upgraded to an EPSON XP-970 A3 ($299), like you, and after it came to me by courier, I ordered the CISS sytem for it straight away, as the bundled cartridges would run out in about 1000 pages if not earlier. I've also just changed my first Maintenance Box ($12), it's still going strong, now that I don't do many courses now, so even at home not printing as much, I still use the CISS sytem. I think it cost $164 by invoice.
    I've used the same place in Melbourne, (about 1.13 hours), I'd go there every year, just to have them check it over, do a clean up, head, tanks etc, I made a special piece of MDF board, tie my printer down, stick it in the boot, drop it off at 09:00, go to the shoppiing complex not far from there, have a sit down lunch, they'd usually ring in about 4 hours or so, just after lunch, pick it up $35 for service and drive home again. Easy system to use, to help cut down your printer $$$$$$$$$'s by NOT purchasing epsom ink cartridges.
    All the best in your home business. Cheers Teddy

    Hi. Thank you for this video. I bought this printer due to your videos. Thank you. I can print on A4 300gsm card stock from the rear tray no problem. However do you ever try custom (user defined) paper sizes. I tried printing on 6 x12 greeting cards and it just printed out a load of lines (no image at all). Wish I could attach a photo. It is like the lines when you do a nozzle check if that makes sense. It will print on 6 x 12 in standard quality but if you change it to high or best quality or if you change the paper to anything other than plain paper it prints out lots of horizontal lines only. Just wondered if you have tried custom paper sizes and how you got on? Would love to know if it’s just my printer or everyone’s.

    Have you tried using the much cheaper non-Epson inks from ebay?

    Hi. I love love love your videos. Bought this printer after your reviews. I just wanted to ask, have you used any off brand printers for the xp-970 I’ve found that the inks are very expensive and I’m looking for alternatives

    Thank you for this video review and your previous one!
    I'm thinking about making the switch from outsourcing to home printing and this printer looks great for my needs!
    Do you know if you can feed A5 paper into it to print? Or would you need to print on A4 and cut to size?

  • @marklola12
    @marklola12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there any reason you use the top paper feeder and not the bottom...as i am assuming that was A4 size paper you were using in the video? Also have you had issues with glossy paper. i have a normal hp tango printer which struggles pulling the gloss side through

    Will be purchasing this printer based off your review and your greeting card video! Do you know if it takes paper heavier than 300gsm at all?

    • @AliceLadkin
      @AliceLadkin  ปีที่แล้ว

      💜 aw cool! I hope you like it 😄 So Epson say up to 300gsm maximum. You may be able to print onto thicker card, but I’d be very wary as this may potentially cause damage to the printer over time 😬

Do you have any advice? Thank you in advance, much appreciated!

      hi, from what I have heard from Epson is that the print quality is the same. Only size and a scanner differ.

      I have had this printer for almost a year. I totally recommend it. It does beautiful prints. Plus it prints on canvas and fabric if you need to. The ink price is ok as well. I'm very picky and I'm not disappointed.
