I love this drive, I could drive that road a million times and never get tired of it. All the way to Victoria. I absolutely love it, in any time of year too. I like to drive it nice and slow, stop at lots of rest stops, enjoy the amazing scenery and that smell in the air. I always loved BC. Anyway, I thought about riding a bike from Calgary to Victoria and some day I will. But for now I just enjoy the car drive. I’m currently living in Bali so the next time I’ll get to drive that road is about 6 months from now.
The best thing about Calgary, not being in Calgary. By the way, great video. I am a fellow Canadian, eh. From Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta. I do long distance runs from Edmonton to Sylvan Lake to see my sister. I do it on my 1978 Raleigh Competition GS.
can you send me the path you took including stop bys. im doing this this year feel like i could do it just by watching this. recommendations on what to bring with you
hi ive been wanting to to this and i want to know your experiences and if you have any good suggestions . the farthest ive traveled was from calgary to banff in( took me less than 9 and a half hour)just want to know if you have any advide if i were to do this
If you have a light weight racing bicycle, pack everything light suggest without camping equipment. Just stay at hostel and motel along the way. Racing bicycle can be rented at "Sport Rent" and "Outdoor Programming Center at University of Calgary". I could able cruise along fairly fast. My average speed from Calgary to Vancouver 26km/hr with average 6 hours riding per day. Take extra care on down hill at Kicking Horse Pass and Coquihalla Pass that section you could ride 5km in 5 minutes. Also watch out for big size truck they can be pain in the neck. If you need any more information contact me at 403 249 2701 GIVE IT A TRY AND GOOD LUCK
+james haston I have an endurance road bike. ive been planning this for months and had been conditioning myself . ive come to a point that i can bike 5 hours straight with out feeling any fatigue and i feel no soreness aftermath.so im feeling confident.

I beg to differ, Calgary is a whole lot funner than Deadmonton. You have a good hockey team though lol
Use the right shoulder lane. Don't block highway. Good view though.
Too many pots hole and it well worn out where it not ride able need to fix the shoulder
From the videos looks OK. ...but I guess you have a clear view. ..
But awesome rides. Woo-hoo
what are you doing on the left side of the road
