It looks like Amtrak is getting really busy with the Surfliners and Metrolink as well. They're doing a decent job taking automotive congestion off of California's highways.
I really would love to see in Southern California BNSF's version of the late great Southern Pacific's cab forward #4294! It's a new GEVO unit used primarily on hot intermodal trains.
This footage is good... but the content of this video.. well.. just makes me depressed.. the golden days of railroads are long gone... Metrolink isn’t what it used to be.. ALL BNSF is orange and black in CA.. 13 years ago... you could see a brand new GEVO.. warbonnet, SD40, conrail, GP60M, all in the same consist...
