    I had a lot of old pipes and rebar to cut up and from what I read th-cam.com/users/postUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 this would be the tool for the job. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

    When clamping rods in a vise, use the right side for cutting. The housing of the angle grinder wont hit the vise.

    Others says that the label to be faced up not down, what is the different if it is up or down? I think both can do the same job

      Thank you for your reply, there is also the same controversy in China, if the metal ring label side is facing upward, the friction of the iron sheet is small, especially the 7inch slice, if it is not tightened, it is easy to swing when cutting, or cause the center hole ring to break; The other part believes that the need for the ring side to face outward is because the ultra-thin sheet is too thin, and the user is afraid that the grinding wheel will crack when the flange is tightened, not consider now the cutting disc of normal thickness is used more, and our mesh is made of high-quality mesh, so we are currently operating according to the video, and we are welcome to provide your views with more users to learn from each other

    • @pegatecabrasives
      @pegatecabrasives  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The role of the metal ring is to enhance the friction with the flange, effectively protect the operation of the grinding wheel and reduce the loss of the flange. At the same time, the expiry date will be stamped on the metal gasket, which will not wear out, allowing customers to know the expiration date clearly.
      And you don’t think the silver metal ring is more beautiful, haha, thank you for coming, welcome to leave your contact information and join the peerec team.

    I purchased the bosch gws8-45 grinder and it says it’s not meant for cutting in the manual, just grinding and sanding. Is this true? I thought all angle grinders do cutting with a cutting wheel.

    We've always 'argued' at work which side faces up when replacing discs. I agree with you but for a different reason. Every other disc (grinding, masonry, etc) would have the labelled side up, why not the cutting disc too???
    Now, as for the metal ring, I did not even notice.
    Any reason why the metal ring has to be facing up?
    Great instruction video btw

      It does not matter which way you put a T41 (flat) cutting Disc. The only reason for the metal ring, is that it is crimped in to cover the inside of the cutting disc, to protect the flange that the wheel is mounted on. Otherwise the abrasive grains in the disc would start wearing away the flange. This in time will lead to the disc not properly locating and centering on the flange. As an Applications Engineer working for a Large German Abrasives Manufacturer, I can assure you that it makes no difference which way you put it. We have discs in our German range where the Centre Ring is the same saide as the label, and others where the Centre Ring is on the other side. One of our very popular German opposition's 115 x 1mm discs, does not even have a Center Ring.

    I wonder, in order to avoid breathing the dust when cutting metal, why we should not let the sparks go outward rather than toward our body?

    • @pegatecabrasives
      @pegatecabrasives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, that’s why we need to wear face mask during cutting, and also in our factory we will have a machine to discharge the dust.

      Thanks for the reply! I'm a beginner and I intend to make a stand for the tool like shown in the link here: th-cam.com/video/wj3Rcalw2Ek/w-d-xo.html. I'm really concerned whether it's safe in case the wheel bursts, though it's more convenient as the sparks fly away from our body.

      can pass MPA test, it will not broken even it cut big workpiece.

      I am 3 years late here - sad about your friend. These machines generally kick back when you least expect it. I lost an old boss last year when he was cutting branches from a tree - the chainsaw kicked back and struck his head. Angle grinders DO kick back, and a blade can shatter for whatever reason. I look stoopid when angle grinding, I wear safety glasses underneath a welding mask AND welding gloves, AND I always have the guard and handle fitted. My grinder has a trigger pull near the back and my hands stay on the handle and the trigger. I have an old spare grinder with a slide switch that is a backup, but to date never had to use it. The reason I I got a new one is because my sweaty hand slipped on the old one, no guard or handle then, and the blade sliced into my forefinger - the scar took a year to fade.
