I was looking for something like the LJN 255 Computer Command (programmable) Car-1980. For now the Sphero-Mini is as close as I can find & afford (Amazon sale $35). I might save up for the Sphero RVR or Anki-Cozmo because I love his cuteness. Thank you for all these helpful videos.

MrMasterCat Let me help! :D First, take the plastic display case out of the packaging assembly after removing any tape or stickers. Next, push in the buttons on the sides of the bottom piece of the plastic box while pulling up on the top piece. At first I had this same problem. Hope I helped!

It is a plastic sphere comprised out of two half-spheres containing a clear sphere with cutouts for components like wheels & its Micro USB charging port, and that clear inside piece contains a ton of tiny electronic stuff like its battery and motors. But I can tell why you would think it's like a drone.
